The grade I believe I deserve is a 90 or above. The reason i believe I deserve a 90 or above is because I’ve shown improvement within this class and all the projects we have done has improved my skills on photoshop/etc. I feel I'm a pretty good student who is respectful to my teacher and students. Finally I show effort in all my projects and assignments. I've shown improvement from the first day up to now slightly, I'm still not the best with everything, but I've shown improvement. An example of me showing improvement would be when we were first assigned an assignment on photoshop, I would constantly ask for the teachers help and help from my students. Now, I have improved with all the tools and mechanics and how to use photoshop a lot …show more content…
I do not cause any problems with anyone in this class, I do not get in fights, I am very respectful to my classmates and have made some very close friendships in this class. Everyone in this class is very friendly and make this class very fun to be in. This is my favorite class to come to everyday. The third and final reason why I think I deserve a 90 is because I always put effort in all my work and always try my hardest. I may never have the best looking projects or may not do the best on everything, but I always put all my effort in my assignments and always have fun with doing the work in this class. I may have shown improvement in this class but I also still have many weaknesses. For example, one weakness I have in this class is lack of confidence in my creativity. Everytime I finish or look at my finished product, I always doubt myself and think it’s horrible and I am never fully confident that my project actually looks good. I always doubt my abilities with my creativity and confidence which is one thing I can work on to get over this is to be more confident with all of my work and dig a little deeper with my creativity when it comes to projects like
I believe that to motivate students to do work, practice work needs to be worth more than 10% of a students’ grade. Ideally, I believe the grading scale should be closer to 75% knowledge, and 25% practice. I believe this would help students want to do their work because practice work is worth much more than 10%. If the students do not do any practice work, they can end up with a C, which in many cases is deemed average. Also, those who do their practice work well can use practice assignments to bring up bad test scores. Due to this, more students will do well on their practice work, therefore leading to better scores in tests because students are trying on practice work and they are doing work. Those on the school board may think that 75/25 would be too much weight on practice work, due to this I also think an 80/20 grading scale would be a good option. Seeing as students would still be getting more credit for their homework. The 90/10 grading system needs to be changed for Emma and for all the students at Austin High School in order to benefit them in the future, in both college and their future
I, Hope Turnbull, am a Senior of Stockton High School in Stockton Kansas. My plans consist of attending North Central Kansas Technical College starting Fall 2016, where I want to begin my study of nursing. Due to me having all of my general education courses finished upon my college arrival, I have been accepted into the first year Nursing Program (LPN). I believe that I deserve this scholarship due to me excelling in my education at a very young age. My grades are earned as A’s and B’s in school.
“Don’t be a grade-inflater! Grades should reflect the distribution of effort and success in the class … If your distribution of grades is skewed toward the high end, it might imply that either an 'A' does not require a high level of achievement in the course or you are demanding too little of your students,” the Boston University College of Arts and Sciences “Information for Faculty Instructors” states.
I believe I should be one of the few students who does receive ten extra points for the following reasons; I am a hardworking student, I may slack off every now and then, but in the end I make sure I get my work done and keep my grades up as well. I will not tolerate a failing grade and I will do everything in my power to make sure I am passing, I am a very determined student. I think I definitely deserve extra credit points.
I believe I deserve this grade as the effort and progress of work I achieved is equivalent to Credit grade and most of the tasks have been done very well.
First reason why I should obtain a 87 as a grade for Graphics Design class is because, I’m a inflexible worker, always make sure that my work is done flawlessly. Never rushed on a project or an assignment because, It would look unacceptable and unsightly. Honestly, one of my projects that was done in the past, was not that vast. But I went back into it on Photoshop, took my time on it, put detail and effort into it and achieved my goal to make it look prodigious.
I do believe that I earned this grade, but I think it could be better in the future. In the beginning of this quarter I was not doing good, in my essays i was getting low grades. I did not know what Mrs. Brach expected of us and as the quarter went on I improved and began to get threes and fours.I do agree with the matrix because I got a lot of threes couple fours and a couple of twos which the majority is a 3. I was doing really well in the presenting part of the matrix but having trouble in the writing portion. Like I said I was becoming better at it and was bringing my grades up to threes and fours from that which once started at twos. I hope in the future that I will come out of this class with an A and I will work very hard for it. I will do whatever it takes and take any criticism from Mrs. Brach in my writing and improve on
Throughout my past schools years, I have been the type of student who not only wants but needs, an A. As I am working towards applying to prestigious universities I am working for the best grades I can
In doing psychology I have also improved my team working as often we have to work in groups and come up with different answers also in doing experiments in biology and chemistry I have made further improvements to being a leader and also team work
I’m currently in eleventh grade with an average of 86 and always hoping to improve it. I consistently try my hardest in my academics
GRADING SCALE After your numerical grade has been calculated, your letter grade will be determined as follows: 90 - 100% = A 80 - 89% = B 70 - 79% = C 60 - 69% =
Overall my grades are not acceptable, well at least not to me. I may have to go back and help teachers so they can raise my grade. My plans for this year are to focus during class, complete assignments, and even get a job outside of school. Once again if I could go back in time I would of made better
The current grading system should be upgraded, and every school should incorporate the plus/minus system in their method of grading. Public high schools began a grading system as a way of telling an individual how they were performing. There was no interest by the public in reporting the school’s progress in teaching. Teachers, in an effort to recognize outstanding performers, looked for a way of rewarding hard-working students for their efforts. The grading structure changed from superior and excellent to A’s and B’s.
Balancing the characteristics of a good student will not only lift them out of the average student range in some of their classes, but it will also carry on through his or her adult life making a job or a career even better. Becoming an excellent student early on in one 's lifetime is the best way to learn the discipline needed because it 's something that will be pushed onto the student by the parents very young, rather than trying to teach oneself self discipline. Defining a student by their grades is not a good way to understand the student and how they are learning but watching the choices that they make in academics is the key to defining who has what it takes to proclaim the good student
When it came time to start the project our teacher handed us a paper with a diagram on top and said the following, “This diagram only shows you what needs to be connected not where it 's supposed to go, the design is all up to you.” When he left the board it took me a few seconds to realize that I was stuck. I didn’t want my design to mimic the diagram, but at the same time I didn’t know how I was going to change it based on my design. It took me about 5 days (120 minutes per day) to finally complete the project. Out of 30 projects 10 turned out to be successful, and mines was one of them. My design was simplistic at the least, but it was effective in its task to charge a smartphone and to this day still works. Doing this project made me realize that my creativity needed improvement just as much as my decision making skills. This experience did not discourage me in the slightest bit. No, this experience has only fueled my lust for engineering and drives me to challenge myself to come up with more intricate designs and
