Many people have been asking me how I feel about my last semester of senior year in high school. Some students say that they are ready to get out of high school others not so much. I see both sides of how you would feel about it and really don't know which side Im on. At times I am ready for the year to be over others I'm not. The times that I am ready for the year to be over could be caused by a variety of things. For example you might be feeling like your ready to grow up and start your adult life, you could be having a bad day and that makes everything less enjoyable, you could have had a bad experience at the school and want to get out of there as soon as possible so you don't experience anything bad again. The effects of wanting to be
Seniors, the last half of the year is hard, almost graduated, almost free from hours and hours of homework, but, don’t give up on your goals. Keep doing what you do best finish out strong. And fight for what you want and keep
The freshman fifteen is a belief that students in their first year of college gain fifteen pounds. However, is the estimated weight gain of fifteen pounds actually accurate, and what would the cause of this weight gain be? Students typically gain weight their first year of college for various reasons. Some of the reasons that they gain weight are because they can't afford healthy food, they do not know how to cook, they do not have time to exercise, and they do not have time to make a proper meal.
Southeastern University is a private, Co-ed, Christian university. SEU’s main focus is to equip their students to be a next generation of leaders so that they can enter the real world as influential servants to their careers and communities. Southeastern university offers a plentiful amount of study programs, even the program I am interested in which is Human services. I selected this school First because it is a Christian college, and Second because of the programs of study. I chose to go to a Christian college because I grew up in a Christian household and because I believe in Jesus. I also chose Southeastern University because of the programs of study. SEU was one of the few colleges that had a program of study that I was interested in.
Talking about my last football games and the senior project makes me think about graduating and leaving La Serna. Lots of people do not want to graduate and move on because they don’t know what is ahead of them. I have been fortunate enough to have three older siblings that have all graduated and moved on in life. I have seen what happens after high school and it is not scary at all.
As I checked the boxes for my senior year schedule, I decided to choose a first period class I never would’ve gone toward in my freshman year. I envisioned the benefits that a first period study hall would entail-the ability to complete last-minute homework or get iced mochas with my friends before class. Two nights before the first day of school, I checked my schedule and was met with an alarming slew of sentences and pieced them together in panic: first period...student aide….sixth-grade Spanish teacher? This was All Wrong. I wasn’t going to get my study hall, and I was also going to have to cut out flashcards and grade quizzes in the very place that was the source of my Pulitzer in dramatic diary entries a few years prior?
Senior year is an important time in a teen’s life. It is the year when we decide what we want to do, and who we want to be. The College or University we choose is a big part of this. I want to go to Dallas Baptist University to find ways to honor my father God, to become a beacon of Christ, and to help others.
Essentially, your education is the path to your future, right? You graduate high school, go to college, and pick a career that will hold you until you retire or die. When picking a good school, you have to think about your future. A school that can ensure the safety of the students, provide knowledge on legal rights and the government, and know that you and the community will be a part of decision making when a controversial subject may come up, are all good aspects a school should have.
Through out life people go through so many hardships. Whether it be good or bad there is always something that comes out of the situation. One of the most exciting but yet scariest events would be graduation. For a lot of people, graduating from high school is a goal. It takes a lot of time and effort to achieve that goal. In the long run, it opens a lot of opportunities for people to succeed. Graduation is the end of high school, and the beginning to life.
Freshman year for me was not the easiest. New school and new people, a whole new beginning. I was always a very shy person so it was pretty hard to get used to it and then it all went downhill. My absences went from not that bad to extremely bad in a matter of weeks. It was extremely hard to catch up in all my classes and my grades reflected that. If that was not bad enough a few months later my mom got extremely sick.
As I started my senior year, all I could think of was my graduation looming over me. The thought of having to choose a major and possibly make the decision that would change my life was extremely daunting. It's a struggle many teens are required to face, that jump from being unable to make decisions without a parent, to being told "listen, you're an adult, make your own choices". In a lot of these situations, a teen can have a hard time finding interests they wish to pursue, and will often go with a parent's suggestion, which was also the case with me. In the end though, I was able to narrow down choices using different methods of reasoning, and found the strengths that I didn't realize I had.
January 15, 16, 17, and 18, 2016 are the days that I want to remember for my senior year. Those few days were the 2016 unitown and Leadership Camp. This was my second year going into unitown, but this time I was going in as a counselor rather than a delegate. Going into the camp I already had an idea on what I expected because of last year but well. I was emotionally drained.
not be. If a child does not understand what the material was, and they struggle
My junior year of high school was most definitely the worst year of my life so far. During the 10 months that were my junior year I suffered a series of unfortunate events. It was like I was drowning and I couldn’t come up for air. Although, now that I am senior, I feel like maybe the events of my junior year were a blessing in disguise. I feel I gained an important lesson about life from that school year.
Have you ever been late to class, even when you are sprinting through the hallways? That is the effect of passing periods. Students are often late to class, which leads to ISS. They also get in trouble a lot more for running in the hallways, even though the students are running so they won’t be late to class. A student should never get in trouble for trying to get to class. Passing periods should be changed at Kearney Junior High because students are often late to class.
These months will be filled with many lasts and goodbyes, but being negative and sad about the end of my high school career will be no help to me. I need to stay positive and focus on all of the fun times I had, and on all of the fun times to come. Because there are still five months of school left, I have five months worth of fun school activities to attend, and in return, make positive memories to carry with me for the rest of my life. With senior slide being a very appealing option, I will need to keep the positive outcome of finishing sting in the back on my mind at all times. I cannot let myself slide because, although this may be my last year of high school, I still have many years of college work ahead of me.
