Southeastern University is a private, Co-ed, Christian university. SEU’s main focus is to equip their students to be a next generation of leaders so that they can enter the real world as influential servants to their careers and communities. Southeastern university offers a plentiful amount of study programs, even the program I am interested in which is Human services. I selected this school First because it is a Christian college, and Second because of the programs of study. I chose to go to a Christian college because I grew up in a Christian household and because I believe in Jesus. I also chose Southeastern University because of the programs of study. SEU was one of the few colleges that had a program of study that I was interested in.

... and good conditions for games but to influence the entire campus to stay in shape and exercise. Everything doesn't have to be on campus, Southeastern is only 45 minutes away from more than 2 amusement parks Florida has to offer. Disney land, Lego Land, and Universal studios are a few of the many attraction sites located near Lakeland. You can never be too old to have a little fun.
The chose this school mainly because of the program of study I was interested in which is human services. I also chose SEU as my future college because of the Christian influence and what they believe in. The many things to do on and off campus also caught my attention personally because of my character which like to have fun while working at what I believe in.

UMHB’s vision statement is, “UMHB will be the university of choice for Christian higher education in the Southwest” (UMHB, 2016). In this essay I will do a SWOT analysis of UMHB to see if the university is working towards its vision. I will identify UMHB’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
Southern Virginia University’s idea of education is requiring students to take possibly unwanted classes and abiding by a code of honor. Most schools do not ask you to follow a code of honor like Southern Virginia’s honor code: “Based primarily on the values and guidelines of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, our Standards of Conduct consists of the Code of Honor, Dress and Grooming Standards, and Community Bill of Rights.” (Southern Virginia University) This makes it different and constraining to a non-latter-day saint student attending the university. As many schools, do not have regulations on hair or what you wear to class. Jeffery Selingo, however, focuses mainly on the balance of passion and necessary skills. At Southern Virginia University, you are required to take general education classes such as math, science, English, civilizations, art and foreign language. These core subjects are important, since they allow someone to gain a broad amount of knowledge in many subjects. Yet, many of these subjects are not considered useful for all careers. For example, an art major does need to take biology classes; since he or she does not need knowledge about cell structure and mitosis to be able to become an artist. Even though Selingo believes in gaining a wide range of knowledge he shows that some classes are full of things that are not important all students in
My philosophy of higher education is that thus far we have realized that the gift of sharing knowledge is one of the keys to success in our society. We have learned from so many great philosophers, scientist, and researchers that have fueled our knowledge in a vast variety subjects. The importance of passing on this knowledge and improving our society has shown to be important in human survival and our growth in the years to come. As the years pass and technology is getting more advanced, the need for higher education is steadily rising. In the past years, a bachelor’s degree was viewed as one of the greatest accomplishments of that time. Now in today’s standards, only having a bachelors degree will not suffice. Thus proving that higher education is the pillars for growth in humanity. Similar to my philosophy, I believe my Christian experience relates to my views of higher education. For instance, as Christians, we have learned that the keys to success is reading and learning from the Bible. Just as we have learned from past philosophers, the Bible provides Christians with knowledge to continue to walk in the path that God has paved for us to go to heaven. In addition, talking and communicating with God helps us in times of need. He is our teacher and supervisor providing us useful knowledge to succeed. From that guidance, it is our job to pass that knowledge to other Christians to grow in our faith. In both higher education and Christianity, our job is to pass our knowledge and faith to others to maintain and improve human survival for years to come. Moreover, in today’s society, there is a growing need for Christ centered learning. I believe that CBU offers that and more. By combining my Christian experience and philosophy of ...
My decision to go to Anderson University was based solely on the fact that they are the only school in the state of South Carolina with my major. While attending Anderson University, I plan to major in Homeland Security
As a senior, I knew that it was time to apply for college. SLU and many other colleges were among my choices. What was hard was determining which school would be right for me. After months of thinking and discussing with my parents, I decided to attend Saint Louis University. A big reason why I decided to attend SLU is based on its Jesuit mission. The mission is all about providing a balanced college experience to each and everyone of the students. I wondered how SLU’s Jesuit mission would impact my experience at the university.
California Baptist University (CBU) is located in Riverside, California on a 142 acre campus. There is a population of 7,957 students with a 100% Christian faculty and staff. On average, 35% of students are men and 65% women. There are 150 undergraduate majors offered, and 45 graduate majors. Some majors offered that I am interested in are in the College of Architecture and Visual Art and Design, as well as a Pre-Physical Therapy and Kinesiology. I have a strong interest in both graphic design type fields, as well as a science and fitness interest in physical therapy.
The acceptance rate for this University is 76% and the number of undergraduates that attend this school is about 23,789 out of the 31,860 that attend total. The Mascot is a red –tailed hawk named swoop and represents the soaring spirit of our state and school.
I plan on attending Hardin-Simmons University in the fall of 2017. Hardin-Simmons University will provide me with the opportunity to grow personally, academically, and spiritually. With the university being small in class size, I will become more than just part of a statistic. At HSU, entering students are seen as new members into a family. A family that will join me in my victories, help me when I struggle, and be there when I am having a rough day.
My personal faith will help me contribute to Liberty University mission is that my strong belief that nothing is impossible when you have God. In Luke 1:37 it says “For with God nothing shall be impossible”, I believe that through this I will be able to overcome any challenges that I might face. And be a leader to those who find it difficult to move forward. I want to use my personal faith to encourage others that with faith we can do and be anything that we want and having Christ my side makes me stronger. I want my faith to be seen through the work that I do on and off campus. My faith in Christ is important to me during the years that I go to college, I want attend a college that will help me grow my faith and be a stronger leaders to those
From what I recall after working through the pre-campus essay, my expectations upon starting the semester were that studies would incorporate Christ; fellowship between students would be strong; and the faculty is eager to help students succeed as long as they are putting forth their best effort. During my first semester at Covenant, I have found these expectations to be accurate. Covenant College offers a plethora of opportunities for students to faithfully pursue a college education. However, it is each student’s responsibility to guarantee his or her success in doing so. The Christian Mind course taught me that in order to ensure that I am faithfully pursuing my college education, I must adhere to my callings, incorporate the Bible into
Starting off this senior year, I was a child. I’m proud to tell you that through ten months of guidance from teachers, counselors and family members, I can proudly call myself a man. Before you move on to the next letter, I guarantee you’ll be a greater senior. These next five-hundred words will prepare you for not only this school-year, but whatever you pursue afterwards. The first and best piece of advice I can give you to cherish throughout this year is to never ever be afraid. Never put your head down and say you’re defeated. Always hold your fist up high and be proud of whatever it is you’re doing. Never be ashamed.
As senior year is coming to a wrap, many memories are flowing through the mind as graduation day approaches. It is always fun to look back at the activities that we were involved with, classes we took, and laughs that we all shared. Senior year has been the most memorable year out of the four years that I have spent in high school. I love dissecting animals, or anything I can get my hands on, and one day our Human Anatomy and Physiology class had the privilege to dissect a cat.
There are many reasons why SMU appeals to me and is my 1st choice for college.
I have earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences with a 3.65 GPA in my major. Thus, I am positive that I have met the requisite preparation for the rigorous road ahead of me. By way of wisdom, compassion, and integrity, and through the transferable training, skills, and coursework that I have attained over the years, I believe that my accomplishments will suit me well in the pursuit of a Master of Arts degree in Education within the area of Guidance and Student Development at Point Loma Nazarene University. Over the next five years, I plan to give full attention and devotion to my graduate studies and put forth my greatest effort in learning the basic body of subject matter knowledge within the coursework and the fundamental skills within the required practical fieldwork.
