UMHB’s vision statement is, “UMHB will be the university of choice for Christian higher education in the Southwest” (UMHB, 2016). In this essay I will do a SWOT analysis of UMHB to see if the university is working towards its vision. I will identify UMHB’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
The strengths that UMHB has are the small classroom sizes, a small campus, good landscaping, good football team, and free Microsoft Office 2013. The small classroom sizes are a strength because it allows the students and professors to have a better interaction. Unlike larger classrooms, the smaller classrooms allow the students ask more questions. Also, gives the professor the capability to do in class activities to help the students understand the information better. The reason that UMHB’s campus size is a strength is because of the walking distance isn’t as far as the larger universities in Texas. Good

The reason that the lack of parking spaces is a weakness is because of the limited parking it means there’s a good chance that students will have to park on the other side of campus, and walk a longer distance in order to get to their classes. UMHB being expensive is a weakness because it can hinder a person from becoming a student, which will hinder the growth that the university is looking for. Having to take classes that are not related to your major is a weakness. For instance, taking old testament and new testament classes, these classes are not needed for the majority of the majors offered at UMHB. This slows down the process of a student graduating. Lastly, the lack of available professors is a weakness because it limits the number of classes available. This can cause the students to not be able to take the classes that they need because they’re not
According to Smithson, Walmart can expand its markets to new and emerging markets especially in the third world countries, which can significantly increase its revenues. Secondly, the company can reform is employment practices and improve the quality standard and in doing so, attract more customers and improve its brand image. On the other hand, the company faces threats such as the rising healthy lifestyle trend I that the company in most cases does not provide customers with healthy goods. At the same time, the company can capitalize on this aspect and increase its revenues. Aggressive competition from other discount retailers such as Target creates a great threat to the company (Smithson, 2015).
What stands out about American universities today? Is it the academic opportunities offered to students, experienced faculty, or strong sense of community? Or...perhaps they have lost their focus. It is not uncommon for universities to focus their efforts and budgets elsewhere; by building state of the art gyms, for example, remodeling luxury dorms, grooming campuses, or creating more management positions. College students and professors alike are subject to the nationally occurring changes in higher level education. Colleges are becoming commercialized and tuition is rising, but is the quality of education improving? In “Why We Should Fear University, Inc.”, Fredrik DeBoer is able to provide a personal take on the issue of corporate domination

...cannot be broken, knowledge that cannot be taken away, and opportunities that students never knew were available. It is an honor to receive top notch education and even more of an honor to receive it from an HBCU. Legacies are made at HBCUs and parents are made proud when their child becomes alumni of the same college that they once attended. Parents want to know that their child is receiving the one on one attention from the professors and they want their child to feel the same love away from home that they feel at home. A loving and caring support system is what one will find at an HBCU and parents can feel secure in knowing their child is getting exactly what they paid for. Attending an HBCU is an experience like no other and an experience that every African American should have the opportunity to experience. If given the opportunity, why not attend an HBCU?
Clearly, HBCUs provide several benefits to African-American students. Not only have they helped to combat the cycle of discrimination that minority students experienced before the civil rights initiatives of the 1960s, but they strive to provide a warm, supportive and inclusive academic environment that addresses African-American college students as a whole person. Additionally, HBCUs are increasing their efforts to ensure that higher education is accessible, affordable and achievable for individuals with unique socioeconomic challenges. Despite obstacles, historically Black institutions will continue to play a vital and significant role in the fabric of higher education.
...sented themselves such as: lack of financial support, low graduation rates, and a non-existence of diversification. However, these issues can be changed by an increase in support from different places which would add to the existing importance of HBCU’S. People are inspired by the Institutions because they work hard to overcome obstacles placed in their way. Students, Alumni’s, and Parents see the motivation and determination of the schools to stay ongoing and I see it as well.
Clemson University is an amazing school to go to because of its really spectacular weather. You can just sit back and relax just enjoy your day after a long hard day of work from class. Even some students agree here is what one said” The weather gets really hot in the summer gets pretty cold in the winter months. There’s a good spread of the seasons you get a good amount of time for fall winter spring and summer.” ” We realize that top-ranked academics are just the beginning of our students’ race toward the future. High-caliber learning happens and thrives at this university.” (Clemson) So as you can see Clemson thrives to get you in the right place you should be at. Clemson is much known for many things their history, its research centers, and their famous alumnus. So let’s start off with Clemson’s history.

The amount as well as the variety of courses, the school offers is unparalleled, and gives me an opportunity to be well rounded and very resourceful. Ultimately I am getting the abundance of tools to reach the potential I always knew I had, the type of potential my teachers, and my fellow colleagues have been preaching to me that I had, as if it was some type of banter from a fictional story. I would even go as far to say that when pertaining to personal development and even cognitive function, Rutgers will be beneficial; there is a lot of space and a lot of people with different characteristics and views, I would benefit from interacting with others, that respond to social stimuli in different

The second I stepped onto the campus, I knew that it was where I wanted to be and I felt like I was at home. The atmosphere felt friendly and family-like, the campus and the surrounding area was beautiful, academics are amazing, and the athletics and their facilities are great. The most appealing of these factors to me was the outstanding criminal justice program. This really caught my eye because my long-term goal after college is to work in the criminal justice field as a criminal investigator or a crime scene investigator. Not only does UNF have a great criminal justice program with outstanding professors that were, at one point, in the criminal justice field, but they also have great ties with the FBI and Jacksonville Sheriffs Office,
The SWOT analysis is a useful tool for identifying our personal strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to our plans and goals. According to a “Fuel My Motivation” article (2010), this analysis considers internal influences that can positively or negatively affect our ability to achieve our goals. The internal factors are our strengths and weaknesses. Also considered are opportunities and threats, which are external influences that can have a positive or negative impact on the ability to achieve our goals. I will share how the self-assessment instruments and self-exercises in this course have contributed to assessing and understanding my strengths and weaknesses. I will also discuss techniques I will use to leverage my strengths and understand my weaknesses. In addition, I will consider opportunities that I can take advantage of and the threats that can possibly impede my progress.
I have wanted to attend Boston University for many years, for a multitude of reasons. The city of Boston has always attracted me due to its diversity, culture, and overall beautiful scenery. I have visited the city numerous times and I seem to fall in love with it ,each time. The memories of walking on the ancient, cobblestone streets ,and eating cannolis in Franklin Park, will stay with me for a lifetime. The idea to be able to attend this university, and make more of these memories would be an amazing experience. Another attraction to Boston University, is the fact that my mother attended the school for her undergraduate degree. This school holds sentimental value for my mother and I, and following in her footsteps would mean a great deal.

Accessibility: If you live on campus, you can easily walk to classes, libraries, computer labs, cafeterias, etc. You do not have to waste time and money driving to school, finding a parking space, and so on. Also, some colleges give free access to internet, laptops and cable, so students do not go through the trouble of always being in the library and waiting for an available computer.
