The Jared E. McEachern Scholarship is vital to my college career due to my decision to attend Anderson University. Anderson University is a private school that costs nearly thirty- six thousand dollars to attend per year. It is imperative that I apply for as many scholarships as possible in hopes of reaching my goal of receiving at least half of my tuition. My parents are very supportive and willing to help in any way they can; however, I genuinely do not want to cause them any stress when it comes to paying for college.
My decision to go to Anderson University was based solely on the fact that they are the only school in the state of South Carolina with my major. While attending Anderson University, I plan to major in Homeland Security
At a recent career fair, I was able to talk to a Lockheed Martin representative. Lockheed Martin chooses the University of Florida as it's primary recruiting target for engineering. The next university is Georgia Tech. I cannot imagine why someone would chose UCF over UF or Georgia Tech in engineering. Note: On my friend's site, he implies UCF is better then Georgia Tech in engineering. lol.
Going to college is a big step in a young person’s life. That is why when going to college; one should know which college they would like to go to. For me personally, the college of my dreams is Louisiana State University. The top three majors at Louisiana State University are Biology, Biomedical engineering, and Business. The main reason I want to go to Louisiana State University is because of their amazing biology department .The main things that caught my attention about Louisiana State University, was how flexible I could be with my money, it isn’t that hard to apply and the admission process is pretty doable, and the campus life is interesting with many clubs and organizations that I could join.
According to statistics, youth whose parents have not attended a post secondary are 19.8% less likely to attend university than those whose parents have. They also show a 12.8% gap between youth whose parents are in the bottom third of income distribution as opposed to those with higher incomes. On top of this, there's a 14.6% difference between youth from rural areas compared to population centres and a 7.5% gap between youth with one parent and youth with two. And yet, against all odds, I am writing to you today in the hopes of funding my education. I exhibit a majority of the characteristics you are looking for, such as leadership, financial need, a solid career plan and 2 and a half years of work experience. These are just some of the qualities that qualify me for the Harrison McCain scholarship.
Unfortunately, my family and I fall into an area of the middle class that prohibits us from receiving need-based aid. Although I have graciously been awarded the Elizabeth Ann Seton Scholarship, without some additional form of aid, a Seton Hill education may be prohibitively expensive. My fourth year’s tuition alone would cost $37,520 with my current scholarship, and I would still have to pay for living expenses. Once my undergraduate and fifth years’ expenses are included, I will be over $150,000 in debt when I graduate. As a student who has worked exceedingly hard in the classroom and as a leader for four years, this amount of financial burden feels like a punishment. If I do not receive the Seton Scholar Award, I am not confident that I can attend Seton Hill and make the impacts I have described in this
An opportunity for this immense amount is not given every day. I am the first generation to ever go to college and to be born in the United States. I would love to receive this opportunity and make my family proud. I have been academically and personally challenged throughout my high school career. I consider this opening of academic accomplishment to myself and my community. If I receive the POSSE Foundation scholarship is a way for me to thank my parents for all the sacrifices they have made for me and my brothers. I want to show them that when they came to the United States was not a lost cause and have succeeded their goal for their children to receive advanced education. My culture values collegiate learning preciously and immensely. I
Ordinarily, during difficult times in the past, my family has been able to maneuver through life challenges with extraordinary faith and by staying close to each other. For this reason, I have decided to join my two brothers at North Greenville University in efforts to eliminate additional educational expenses. Unfortunately, even with attending the same university to benefit from the same resources, my younger siblings will only further complicate our evolving situation as my sister will be entering into college the following year. Therefore, despite having my three siblings at the same college with me at the same time is a blessing, it is also a financial burden for our aging veteran parents. Financing all of our educational goals continues to prove to be a more daunting task than ever before.
I am applying for this scholarship to pay for materials required by the instructor teaching civil litigation. This class requires specialized notebooks and case study materials that are exceptionally expensive.
Pursuing higher education and earning a degree is now a necessity to live a successful life and accomplish personal career affiliated goals. The rising price of college tuition, in private and public schools, is a major concern for many American students. Applying to schools is an overwhelming and stressful process, especially knowing that a good education comes with a large price tag. The thought of not being able to go to the school of ones dreams, purely because of the cost of tuition, is demotivating, even crippling for some. Many students apply to any and all scholarships that they can in an attempt to reduce their future debt, to no avail.
I attend a Title I school in West End Atlanta, and every day I see teenagers in my community who has given their lives away and have very little support to encourage them to be successful. As a result of this, I began researching and studying the outstanding things that I can do with my life outside of my community, such as going to college, and traveling. I got a lot of good feedback from my teachers, parents, and peers about this scholarship and I decided that I must find a way to pay for college because my family can not afford to pay for school. Being in the top ten percent of my class, a dual enrolled student, and an athlete, I serve as inspiration to others. If I attend college, then people from my school will feel as if they can attend
Being driven by my passion and strong belief that every child should have access to a high-quality education. I started my doctoral degree in educational administration and leadership; to become an educational leader to guide and direct young minds. However, my salary payment is not enough to sustain my studies and monthly responsibilities. In light of this, I applied for Rowan’s University financial aid
This fall, I will be entering my second year of college and I am in need of financial assistance in order to continue my secondary education here at Virginia Commonwealth University. I am a first-generation college student, who comes from a single parent low income home. In addition, I have a disability that requires special accommodations that make the cost of continue my education more expensive.
As I stated earlier, I’ve applied to many larger, more expensive colleges. I intend to file my FAFSA and apply for as many merit scholarships as possible. Financial aid will assist with expenses a great deal, but I realize there will still be part of that tuition along with other expenses such as books and study abroad programs that I will still need to pay for. My family falls just outside of the mark for certain large scholarships such as the Daniels Fund and Horatio Alger Scholarship. These types of scholarships never really take into account outside expenses, especially medical. I, having a rare vascular malformation and my step-father having type one diabetes, we rake up an extensive amount of medical bills even after insurance. I’ve known since I was a kid that I was going to have to pay for college myself and the Dick Cook Faculty Scholarship can help me to do just
I am applying for this scholarship because I need all of the help that I can get paying for school. This semester I paid for school with a loan and have been working night shifts to pay for housing, food, and what the loan did not pick up. The less of a loan I have to take out the better but right now I had to pay for almost all of my tuition with a loan. Last summer I worked full time had I not been able to get such a good job last summer I would not have had enough money to be able to go to school. I don't want to have such a close call this time. I am working a full time summer job right now but it does not pay as well as my job last summer did and does not provide the overtime hours I would like to have.
I am the first person in my family to attend college. I played for a college level sports team. I am in an honors society at college and I am following my dreams to become an occupational therapy assistant. I can’t say I did this all on my own my family has been a huge help. Another thing that helped me the past two years was knowing I was finically stable due to my soccer scholarships. That helped me stay focused and achieve all those amazing things I never thought I was capable of doing. If I am award the Kevin D. Marlo Scholarship I am going to continue to surprise myself and this college with the extraordinary things, I can accomplish. I have a long road ahead of me but I am ready for the ride. I am very hardwiring and if I were to receive this scholarship I would prove that my academic abilities are endless. It is unfortunate that money can be such a curling factors in someone’s education but that is just how it is. To receive this scholarship, it would show me that all of my handwork had paid off. I am looking forward for my senior year at Harcum next year. These have been the best years of my
I consider myself more in need and I need the scholarship more, than any other student. the reason why is because I'm an undocumented student at Sampson community college. An undocummented student who is paying out of state tuition, becaue undocumented students in North Carolina are not considered residents of this state. Being an undocumented student here at Sampson it’s a great privilege for me, since I have always believed that there wasn’t a place for me to continue
