Some of the reasons for joining PAW was not only to gain knowledge about the different resources that CSUEB has for students, I also wanted to grow as a presenter. Last quarter, which was my first quarter as a PAW intern, was good. I definitely got better at presenting to bigger groups. It got me out of my comfort zone, which was one thing I wanted to accomplish by joining PAW. As what I want to achieve as a health educator, I still want to improve on my communication skills as well as working with others. I want to be able to work with others and not feel shy or nervous working with people I am not close to. Last quarter, I focused more on communication, therefore, this quarter I want to focus on teamwork for my Principle of Leadership. How
I want to join Year Up because of the opportunity it provides to receive an education and experience in a professional computer-programming environment that I might not have received otherwise. I believe I am a good candidate for Year Up because of my ability to perform in professional and academic environments alike, as well as a strong desire to succeed in a highly technical field.
With working in a residential setting and with vulnerable individuals my team must learn to work together as a strong team and as a new manager and new team member we have had to experience the 5 stages of team development and I have had to establish myself as the team leader, build trust and respect with and amongst the team, set team aims and objectives along with manage and address dynamics.
PAW Patrol is an animated television program which first aired on August12, 2013 on Nickelodeon. The animated program is based on a ten-year-old boy named Ryder. Along with Ryder are eight rescue dogs. The pups’ names include the following: Marshall, Chase, Rocky, Zuma, Skye, Rubble, Tracker, and last but not least Everest. Ryder and the pups work together on missions to protect the shore side community of Adventure Bay. PAW Patrol ranked as the highest-rated, preschool animated television program, in the United States in November 2013. It held that position throughout the spring 2014 season. PAW Patrol has won many awards since then. PAW Patrol is a good children’s animated television program because it not only entertains children, but also teaches them good values such as heroism, bravery, and ecological awareness.
I gained these skills while I served as the president of my sorority and as a Jumpstart corps member for a preschool classroom. Although I’m no longer the president, I find myself applying these skills constantly, especially while working with my students. I can fulfill multiple positions because I learned how to be versatile and help my board members and students fulfill their positions and meet their goals. I know the boundary between being an authoritative figure and a friend to not only enforce the norms, but also to make sure people are open to learning from each other and me. As a leader and educator, I make sure to not only lead, but also to include the voices of the people around me. I know how to prioritize duties in order to plan efficiently and effectively for meetings, events, and lessons. I think quickly on my feet, which allows me to not only come up with a solution quickly, but multiple solutions. It has helped me solve conflicts between people and help engage both sorority members and students. As a leader and now an associate member, I am dedicated to improving my sorority and helping our members become the best versions of themselves. As a Jumpstart corps member, I am passionate about helping our students develop their literacy skills. I’m focused on not only how I can better serve the people around me, but also everyone we interact with from our schools to our community. Leadership
My first wish is to learn and enrich my skills. Co-op allows high school students to apply academic study to the workplace. By alternating study terms with work terms, I can test conceptual knowledge whilst applying pre-existing skills such as being able to communicate. Likewise, I can acknowledge my skills, and discover and amend my strengths and weaknesses. I hope to develop my skills through hands-on experience. Skills such as being able to deal with conflict, make decisions, and work with a team. I believe that acquiring such skills is not only crucial in the workplace, but also in the real world. Hence, I intend to achieve this goal by interacting (cooperating, showing curiosity, asking questions) with the staff at Windsor Regional Hospital in hopes to learn and follow them by example.
My long term leadership development goals are to enhance my decision quality, improve my administrative abilities, and exercise a greater degree of patience.
This beleieve was encouraged by my success in being a team leader during my management project course for school, and the reasurance from my friends and family that I had the characteristics of what its takes to become leader, and I was ‘born’ for the position. With this in mind, I applied for a leadership position within the student organization, ESN, as a VicePresident. After four months of holding this postion, I realized that I need to improve my leadership skills; leading a team of 12 memebers of different divisions and objectives is different from leading one of 5 members ( like I did in my management project course). I realized that being a leader takes more than being ‘born’ for it. It requires practice, patience, and many other attributes that I am not yet competent in. Though I have attributes ( adaptability, convincing, etc. ) that are important in a leadership position, to become a succesful leader I need to further develop my other talents. I hope that with this new found awareness, that I will be able to develop my leadership skills next semester through watching management classes online and reading articles that gives advince on how to increase leadership

I spoke earlier about creating a method in order to improve the workplace for employees in order to increase the success of an organization; this is a project that requires a lot of attention to detail and plenty of consistency. Being an individual with great recognition of detail and efficiency is something that this program needs because that is what the field of Human Resource Management and Development is all about. We need individuals in this field who pay attention to the details that others may miss out on, and individuals who are not afraid to keep going after a couple of failed attempts. Good communication skills help us improve our relationship. Learn to communicate well with children and members with an open mind. For the brainstorm is to generate more ideas and we can further understand the issues of our activities. I try to recognize the opportunities and generating ideas. I always have group discussion with my members to gather different ideas and choose the best solution for the problems. I also learn some moral values, such as teamwork and tolerance. I must cooperate and tolerate with each other in order to carry out our project smoothly. I do the project with my member together and give a hand to those who need help. Tolerance is to prevent argument in our group. I talk politely and listen carefully to others’ suggestions. I also accept criticisms and make correction of my mistakes. This is the reason why we can finish our community project successfully. Every member in the group contributes great efforts. Working together really can save a lot time because time is gold and I need to use it wisely. Everything was going smoothly and it was time to say goodbye to the children and I also promised them will go there visit them once a month or when I am free. During the time of training, my team was relying on me to guide them in the right direction. That included giving them the motivation to keep going until our mission was complete. Team leaders are ultimately accountable for regulating everything that happens within that team and held responsible for the outcomes (Steckler & Fondas, 1995).
