Why I Chose To Join Year Up

I want to join Year Up because of the opportunity it provides to receive an education and experience in a professional computer-programming environment that I might not have received otherwise. I believe I am a good candidate for Year Up because of my ability to perform in professional and academic environments alike, as well as a strong desire to succeed in a highly technical field.
A large part of the reason I would like to join Year Up is because of the opportunity to receive an education and start my career in computer programming, without financial barriers stopping me before I can get started. The chance to receive an education in programming, a field that has interested me for as long as I knew it existed, is too great for me to let it pass. I have been interested in computers since I was introduced to them at a young age, and the idea of making functional programs has always been fascinating to me. More importantly, Year Up gives me a chance to receive experience in a professional environment and kick start my career. First, I can perform well in almost any environment. This is due to my sheer determination to reach my goals. Once I set them, it can be extremely difficult to dissuade me from pursuing my goals. I also perform well in an academic setting, owing to the fact that I have always been very academically inclined. In my experience, when I put forth any degree of effort towards them, academic challenges tend to cease being an issue. This does not mean, however that I cannot hold myself well in a professional environment.
