For this assignment, I chose my current career setting as a lead technician in a laboratory consisting of nine team members, which includes a supervisor. Our supervisor’s role is primarily administrative and this individual has little involvement in the day to day activities within the lab. That being the case, our team collaborates amongst each other to effectively operate the laboratory and thus, there are things I might improve upon from a personal perspective.

There are several things I could do to contribute more positively to my team and organization. First, I could devote more energy towards recognizing the efforts of all team members in my lab. This could be remedied by face to face acknowledgement or by utilizing a company sponsored recognition tool. Secondly, I could more fully cultivate what I have learned and disperse my knowledge to my team. This could be affected through greater elaboration while performing procedures and involving all levels of the team. My self-view did differ from the view of others regarding the three questions. In reference to what I should do more of, the majority thought I should communicate with the team more. Their answers were directed specifically towards creating more verbal discourse, whilst my answer tracked on a need for additional generalized interfacing pertaining to difficult issues. The views on what I should do less of were relayed as: reducing my expressed level of stress (two individuals) and tone down being so animated by another. These views focused on aspects of my personality, while mine was job function related. The question on what I could do to contribute more positively offered very little difference of sentiments from my answer. The exception being that I could participate more on a personal level. This points towards a behavior change that one individual would like to see effected.
2. I believe my view in the questioned areas is relatively accurate. There were answers given that mirrored mine explicitly. It was indicated that some of the answers were difficult to find much to change. However, the answers that meaningfully differed from mine appeared centered on personality and behavior, so the correctness of my view certainly is not perfect. My perspective has shifted very slightly as a result of this assignment. I demonstrated a tendency to evaluate potential change from an impersonal viewpoint without considering personal characteristics that might be bothersome to

First, by reading over my results it was very helpful to understand why I like putting others before myself, defending those who need it, and always serving others because I am the defender and that’s what 13% of the people around the world do. It is also helpful to understand why I am shyer and introverted because I put others before myself and I serve them. I also felt that by knowing what I am stronger at or weaker of so I know how to approach any situation in the future. The one thing that I found to be least helpful is that even though I know my negative traits, it will be very hard to break those habits because those qualities define who I am. Some of my most accurate responses were supportive, reliable, being a great family man and husband, caring, imaginative and observant, loyal, enthusiastic, hardworking and an admirable employee. Altogether, there was nothing that does not define who I am. These results for me were actually highly
I believe the results of this survey to be accurate as the survey was conducted in a fair and professional manner. However, I also discovered how easy it can be to manipulate the data and the opinions of participants to favor a single viewpoint. Surveys are an important method of gathering, summarizing and presenting large amounts of data. However, when relying on polls to form opinions or make decisions, people should consider the source, look for any conflicts of interest, contemplate other avenues of information and draw their own conclusions.
¬When considering what my own personal philosophy of counseling would be, it was eye opening to consider who I was a person and how much I have grown. The self analysis was new to me because I never thought about how I do that on a day to day basis. Reviewing the questions I found that a lot of my focus surrounded family, my significant other, and close friends. Constantly living in a diverse population and having that as my surrounding also made its mark in my answers. I also noted that both past and present influences, but primarily the present, play a large role in my own perspective. By following the prompt, I was made to understand that my thought process makes me think of what is occurring in the present and how I can alter these happenings to help shape the future that I want.

However, in spite of these expenditures, if an employee believes that his or her job that assigned to them is lousy and feel unsatisfactory, that employee will behave accordingly.

In application, I needed to understand my personal behaviors, tendencies, and those of others in my organization so I can better interact and serve others (Fischer, 2006, p. 1). For instance, although I let things brew to gather facts before applying a logical decision, some people use a quicker decision process (Nutt, 1986, p. 358). Additionally, I am optimistic and a realist concerning workplace diversity as I view it as practical and useful to understand and collaborate with others (Pearson Education, 2016, I.B.4). While others may not share my same beliefs, I acknowledge that an organization consists of unique people who bring their own values, personal beliefs, lifestyle preferences, and behaviors into the workplace (Fischer, 2006, p. 3; Pearson Education, 2016, I.B.4; Robbins & Judge, 2009, p. 23). Knowing that people have different personality traits, one key takeaway for me is an emphasis on understanding and using the information discovered from my personality test so that I can have a greater impact on subordinates, peers, and the organization I lead (Robbins & Judge, 2009, p.
