The purpose of this project is to show how personality plays a key role in organizational behavior and how it affects many aspects of the workplace. The goal is to further explore and understand personalities that include strengths, weaknesses, leadership skills and behavior within an organization. The results were gathered using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), a psychological assessment apparatus based on the Jungian personality type theory. The test, was assessed based on how well it validated relationships and anticipated outcomes based on that theory. Through the showing, that personality type does affect organizational behavior and has a biblical connection of covenantal theology. The findings of this project highlighted the importance of a personality type and its effects on behavior and performance in the workplace.

FEELING Decision making processes can be fulfilled on two sets of criteria – Thinking and Feeling. My preference, Feeling describes me as an individual that makes decisions based on a specific case in a biased manner off what is thought to be true within my own assessment. Another characteristic that is unique to my preference is that I tend to follow my heart, empathize with others, and let my emotions guide my decisions. Decision making with the Feeling preference can include wanting to buy something because I like it or declining a job, because I am not too fond of the work environment. Kroeger et al. (2002) stated that, as leaders, Feelers tend to “exercise power through relationships and attention given to subjective human values.”
In the area of decision making I believe myself to be more Thinking than Feeling. An example of the thinking preference can be seen in my role as a consistent, objective disciplinarian. My firm-mindedness in this area has produced children that are a joy to teach as well as to take out in public. Our family receives numerous compliments on how well behaved and delightful our children are. I believe it is my desire for justice and my clarity in rules and expectations that make this achievable for my children.

The bases of this paper will be based on the results that I had obtained when I took the Myers-Briggs personality test. The results that I had obtained was that I was determined to be an ENFJ. I will go into depth about letter and how each represents that a specific aspect of my personality. The results that I had received were not what I had expected, but the more I read about the trait the more I realized how it suited me. I will also talk about the information that I had found useful from the book, Type Talk at Work: How the 16 Personalities Types Determine Your Success on the Job by Otto Kroeger, which gave me insight on how to interact with other personality types especially in the work environment. The information that I absorbed from the personality test and from the book will go into use in my personal and work life so that both environments will be cohesive and peaceful.
I have often felt that I’m a competent critical thinker, but then there is that word feeling in my statement. In chapter two, the author Ruggiero explains that often feeling and thought are interchangeable (18). On some issues I believe I have done just that, used my personal feelings and beliefs to influence my opinions, and arguments, preventing me from seeing the other side. Leadership is the glue that binds any business together, identifying and understanding your type of leadership style can ultimately aid you in becoming a better leader in your professional career. A successful business cannot function without leadership therefore this is a crucial aspect of internal employee development for businesses striving to stay relevant in a crowded marketplace. In addition to recognizing your leadership style every leader needs to look to them and identify what type of personality they have. By becoming an informed business leader you will gain trust and respect of your team to guide them into the future and maximizing potential growth. The Jung Typology Test is designed to give the participant a 4-letter formula which describes strength preferences of one’s personality type. The formula is based on whether the participant favors Extraversion or Introversion, Sensing or iNtuition, Thinking or Feeling, and Judging or Perceiving when it comes to the participant’s general attitude. One will also receive a Temperament, which is based on one’s personality type formula, and can be used to make somewhat accurate predictions of the participants preferred behavior. Discussed below are different researchers’ arguments and explanations on how personality predicts employee performance. This essay will explore both negative and positive ways in which personality can predict the performance, as well as explaining what personality is. Past research has “demonstrated that personality constructs are associated with work performance, with some traits like conscientiousness predicting success around jobs. Other linked with specific occupations e.g. extraversion correlates with success in sales and management as well as training performance supporting”, (Barrick et al., 2002, 87: p.43).
Allport defines personality as ‘the dynamic organisation within the individual of those psychological systems that determine his unique adjustment to his environment’ (Allport, 1937). An individual’s unique personality traits and attributes are a powerful indicator of how he/she will interact with the work environment. The difference between average and outstanding employees can often be solely personality related. During this paper I will explain my values, decision making style, personality type, and goals. Values play a big role in each individual’s daily lives from the day they was a small child to the day they pass away. Although, some people’s values differ does not mean they are less important. A person’s personality will explain how they interact with others, and their strengths and weaknesses. Using deciding styles can help you when making decisions. The Principle of Separate Corporate Personality The principle of separate corporate personality has been firmly established in the common law since the decision in the case of Salomon v Salomon & Co Ltd[1], whereby a corporation has a separate legal personality, rights and obligations totally distinct from those of its shareholders. Legislation and courts nevertheless sometimes "pierce the corporate veil" so as to hold the shareholders personally liable for the liabilities of the corporation. Courts may also "lift the corporate veil", in the conflict of laws in order to determine who actually controls the corporation, and thus to ascertain the corporation's true contacts, and closest and most real connection. Throughout the course of this assignment I will begin by explaining the concept of legal personality and describe the veil of incorporation. I will give examples of when the veil of incorporation can be lifted by the courts and statuary provisions such as s.24 CA 1985 and incorporate the varying views of judges as to when the veil can be lifted.
An individual’s personality is the basis of who they are and generates how they react to and behave in different situations. Personality testing is used in workplaces to identify whom to hire, promote and even put into teams. Personality testing is efficient in being able to determine which employees will perform best in certain roles, and this can remove some stress from employers. Personal testing has been shown to help improve the quality of employees who are in the workplace. The method of assessing personalities that will be examined in this essay is the Big Five taxonomy method. The two main questionnaires, which are used to determine these traits, are the Sixteen Personality Factor (16PF) Questionnaire and the NEO personality test. A participant’s results from a personality survey will be analysed to determine what their results mean for current and future workplace behaviour. Finally, this essay will review a case study and it will be explained why personality testing should be used in the workplace and what other work contexts these tests can take place in.
Derek, I too have worked in the financial industry for some time. My field took me into the brokerage field helping individuals understand the market or to help plan for their retirement. In this field, not only were we required to learn all the CPA and brokerage laws, but we were also required to learn all the banking laws that went in place with it. I absolutely agree that in this environment everything that leads to job dissatisfaction is obvious and ever growing. Even in my most recent position right now, we are heavily regulated and forced to do things that sometimes we aren’t even as comfortable doing all in the name of making money, but it culminates into this peaked pile of “low pay, increased worked loads, lack of promotions, and excessive stress on the job.” (Robbins, 2013)
Making decisions is really much more complicated than it seems. When I make decisions, my Id, Ego, and Superego decide my fate. Unfortunately for me, my Id wins far too often, as I often do not study enough. Other personality traits, such as my tendency to over-think and analyze too many things, also play a role. This can influence my other behaviors by making me seem cold and distant with others because I’m too busy thinking. My self-concept is also important.
Decision making is one of the most important aspects in life and work because of its strong link to success and effectiveness. Actually, successful people achieve their goals in life and work through effective and efficient decision making. The decision making process is usually guided by an individual’s beliefs, values, and attitudes as well concepts. While a person can use various concepts in making decisions, they should be very careful to select a concept that is effective and contributes to huge success. Nonetheless, these concepts exist to help an individual become a better decision maker in the world around him/her.
