I am an ISTJ with unique personality strengths and weaknesses. My strengthens are being hardworking, productive, efficient, and driven (Kroeger, Thuesen, & Rutledge, 2002, p. 306). In opposition, being compulsive, inexpressive, and driven by routines are my weaknesses (Kroeger et al, 2002, pp. 308-309). The Prentice Hall Self-Assessment increased awareness of more personality strengths and weaknesses for my consideration. As a type A personality I am always on the go, seeking efficiencies in nearly every task, if not attempting to do multiple tasks at once (Robbins & Judge, 2009, p. 114). In application, I needed to understand my personal behaviors, tendencies, and those of others in my organization so I can better interact and serve others (Fischer, 2006, p. 1). For instance, although I let things brew to gather facts before applying a logical decision, some people use a quicker decision process (Nutt, 1986, p. 358). Additionally, I am optimistic and a realist concerning workplace diversity as I view it as practical and useful to understand and collaborate with others (Pearson Education, 2016, I.B.4). While others may not share my same beliefs, I acknowledge that an organization consists of unique people who bring their own values, personal beliefs, lifestyle preferences, and behaviors into the workplace (Fischer, 2006, p. 3; Pearson Education, 2016, I.B.4; Robbins & Judge, 2009, p. 23). Overall, the INTJ type is an accurate description of my personality. I concur with the assessments that INTJ’s do not “take criticism personally” and they are not “afraid of hard work, and will put forth a great deal of effort towards something that they are interested in” (INTJ Personal Growth, 2014). I am confident in my own abilities and take no offense at work if others are able to show me a better/easier way of performing a task (as long I am approached professionally). Additionally, I am usually whole-heartedly committed toward efforts when I see the importance or benefit from such actions. When taking the two different personality tests, I received the same result for both. I am considered to have an ISFJ (Introvert, Sensing, Feeling, and Judging) personality type. These personality tests I believe help believe get more in depth with the type of person they are but also help them to see there are other people in the world that are like them. A few known people that are similar to my personality type are mother Teresa, and Barbra Bush. Along with learning about others like me, I was able to realize more into my strengths and weaknesses.
My five strengths according to the strength finder include; balance, this helps me be aware of treating all people equally regardless of the situation. I am neither in anyone 's favor or against anyone as this to me is selfishness and individualism. This would result in a situation where some people scale heights due to connections while others are lagging behind. As technology is constantly growing you have to be willing to accept what makes you an asset or a liability in any given situation you may encounter in your life. My personality profile is ISFJ. These letters stand for introvert, sensation, feeling, and judging. There are many assets within the ISFJ personality type. Including, their value for kindness and security. They typically put others needs before their own which can be a weakness. There are many career options for ISFJs, or The Nurtures, because of their sensing abilities. Some of the careers may include social work, counseling, and interior design. Personal growth can be a task for ISFJs because of their lack of external views. Therefore, there are many solutions for ISFJs to partake in, such as, being open to new perspectives.

An individual’s unique personality traits and attributes are a powerful indicator of how he/she will interact with the work environment. The difference between average and outstanding employees can often be solely personality related. As the employee is the most valuable asset to the company, ‘selecting the right employee during the process is critical’ (Carbery and Cross, 2013, pp. 41-53)
Through the self-assessment instruments utilized in this program, I have gained wealth of knowledge about my strengths, and weaknesses and how they affect my personal and professional life. By using different exercises, I recognized new strengths and weaknesses. At the same time, I identified ways to develop my strengths and overcome my weaknesses. The Kolb Learning Style Inventory (LSI) identified some of my strengths as the ability to get things done, initiating, and taking risks (Kolb, 2007). In the Strongest Self Feedback Exercise, some of the feedback listed my strengths as having excellent interpersonal and communication skills, being self-confident, a fast learner, determined, hardworking, and an awesome listener (Drucker, 2005).

Type A Personality or Type A Behavior Pattern (TABP) include typical responses of competitiveness, time urgency, and hostility. Type A’s normally strive towards a goal without feeling a sense of joy in their efforts or accomplishments. They also seem to be in a constant struggle against the clock and become impatient with any delays and unproductive time. Type A’s also tend to see the worse in others and display anger, envy and lack of compassion (McLeod, 2017).

According to the study of this course, I have learned many useful management skills and I feel like these skills will be applied to my future career development. When working on the self- assessment tests, I found myself fall into the category of the ISTJ personality types, which as illustrated by Myers Briggs, is the type of personality that is conscientious, considerate, and helpful.
