1. Why are you applying for your chosen course?
My intense passion for science and mathematics were present from a very young age. Science, especially physics and mathematics, has always fascinated me since junior school. I have read a multitude of books and articles on physics, as well as learning about numerous physicists, mathematicians and other scientists, which further strengthened my interest towards science. Learning science at the university of Sydney has always been my goal, and my experience of the University at the International Science School solidified my choice. Admittance into the course Bachelor of Science / Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Dalyell Scholarship including mathematical sciences) will allow me to further pursue my passion and interest through completing a double major in Physics and Mathematics. The dalyell stream will also allow me to develop valuable research and academic skills that will significantly assist me in my postgraduate studies

Achieving first place in these competitive subjects has taught me the importance of long term commitment and hard work. I have also expanded my interest in these subjects by competing in science competitions. This includes the ICAS science competition, RACI National Chemistry Quiz (in which I achieved a high distinction and a distinction), and Physics Olympiad (in which I achieved a credit). These challenging competitions has certainly helped me improve my logical thinking and problem-solving abilities. My outstanding academic results and attitude towards the science subjects has allowed me to receive the Prestigious Victor Chang Science Award last year, in which I represented my school amongst the local Penrith
