I am determinant young woman with a BS degree in Physics from King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia, on a quest to obtain a MS Physics degree and gain the knowledge, skills and expertise I needs to establish my career as an instructor and researcher within the field at one of Saudi Arabia’s universities. Furthermore, I aspire to continue my studies in the near future and earn a PhD degree in Physics, and armed with a Master’s degree from (name of University) I believe I will be fully equipped to do so.
From a very young age, I have enjoyed reading a wide spectrum of topics. However, during high school, I had become preoccupied with physics during my studies and readings, and so I began to focus my attention upon the materials that further shed light on the science. The more I read, the more I became intrigued with the interrelations between matter, energy, and time and space motion illustrated through the science. Therefore, motivated to become one of Saudi Arabia’ few female physicists, upon graduating from high school I opted to major in the science that captivated me like no other....
I am a dedicated, focused student looking to push the boundaries of Engineering Physics with creative out of the box thinking. I have the drive to be successful and positively represent UBC Engineering Physics. I have a passion for physics and math which is why I believe this program is so appealing and a perfect choice. Having already started, run and sold a successful landscaping company, I have experience in entrepreneurship and have determined being an entrepreneur is something I want to pursue in the future. I believe Engineering Physics would give me the opportunity and breadth of knowledge to make my entrepreneurial vision a reality and allow me to find solutions to the issues that will impact the future of humanity. Being on UBC Supermileage
Although he is definitely a physicist (as his list of publications clearly shows) his command of mathematics is rivaled by few mathematicians, and his ability to interpret physical ideas in mathematical form is quite unique. Time and again he has surprised the mathematical community by a brilliant application of physical insight leading to new and deep mathematical ...
Part I: The Edge of Knowledge Chapter 1: Tied Up with Strings This is the introductory section, where the author, Brian Greene, examines the fundamentals of what is currently proven to be true by experimentation in the realm of modern physics. Green goes on to talk more about "The Basic Idea" of string theory. He describes how physicists are aspiring to reach the Theory of Everything, or T.O.E. Some suspect when string theory is completely understood that it might turn out to become the T.O.E.Part II: The Dilemma of Space, Time, and Quanta Chapter 2: Space, Time, and the Eye of the Beholder In the chapter, Greene describes how Albert Einstein solved the paradox about light. In the mid-1800's James Maxwell succeeded in showing that light was actually an electromagnetic wave.
Since kindergarten, my extensive reading also originated my various interests, especially in science. Living within walking distance of the library, I went there every day, enabling me to dabble in a different subject during each visit. By the fourth grade, I had read all the chemistry books containing fewer than 200 pages, by the fifth grade I was reading about Einstein's Theory of Relativity. During that time period, I became so interested in astronomy through Odyssey Magazine that I sold holiday cards door-to-door in order to buy a telescope.

I am a young Saudi with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Al-Imam Muhammad ibn Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I seek admission to (name of university) to attend the MPA program as a means to achieve my goals. Such goals are to attain the advanced knowledge and skills that will assist me to initiate my career as a highly educated public administrator at a Saudi public organization. If I am successful in such a quest, I will work hard to utilize the knowledge I will gain through your program to the enhancement of my professional and personal development and the attainment of my professional ambitions. A hundred years ago, a young married couple sat at a kitchen table talking over the items of the day while their young boy sat listening earnestly. He had heard the debate every night, and while there were no raised voices, their discussion was intense. It was a subject about which his parents were most passionate - the electrodynamics of moving bodies in the universe. The couple were of equal intelligence and fortitude, working together on a theory that few people can comprehend even to this day. Mileva Maric Einstein was considered to be the intellectual equal of her husband Albert, but somehow went unrecognized for her contributions to the 1905 Papers, which included the Special Theory of Relativity. The stronger force of these two bodies would be propelled into the archives of scientific history, while the other would be left to die alone, virtually unknown. Mrs. Einstein was robbed. She deserved to be recognized for at least a collaborative effort, but it was not to be. The role which society had accorded her and plain, bad luck would prove to be responsible for the life of this great mathematician and scientist, gone unnoticed.
I have decided to choose this type of science degree because I love the mathematical challenges working out physical chemistry calculations such as equilibrium and lattice enthalpies. Furthermore, I know that chemists have to be f...
Until my junior year, I held a strong, yet unfounded, opinion that physics was boring. To me, physics was applied algebra showing how trains collide and gravity pulls bowling balls off skyscrapers. But one day, my older brother returned from a lecture given by a candidate for a professorship at Bard College about quantum gravity, and fervently recommended that I look out for this lecturer. Later in the summer of my sophomore year, I found out that the quantum gravity lecturer, Hal Haggard, was indeed accepted as a new Assistant Professor of Physics at Bard. All new Bard physics professors must begin their careers by teaching Introductory Physics, so I realized this was the perfect opportunity to test the waters of the subject.
During the first two years of my undergraduate studies, I have devoted to building a solid background in mathematics and physics. I constantly find pleasure in deriving mathematical formulas to experience in my mind the process of turning the physical mechanisms into something of such succinct beauty. And the School of Atmospheric Science at Nanjing University, the top school for this major in China has provided me with a rich environment to excel beyond the curriculum, debating and discussing questions with my professors. My curious and analytical attitude has made me a top student among my peers.

I am aware of the hard work involved in acquiring the degree from an institution of international reputation and I am confident of succeeding in the course offered to me at the university.
During the seventeenth century, the modern science of physics started to emerge and become a widespread tool used around the world. Many prominent people contributed to the build up of this fascinating field and managed to generally define it as the science of matter and energy and their interactions. However, as we know, physics is much more than that. It explains the world around us in every form imaginable. The study of physics is a fundamental science that helps the advancing knowledge of the natural world, technology and aids in the other sciences and in our economy. Without the field of physics, the world today would be a complete mystery, everything would be different because of the significance physics has on our life as individuals and as a society.
At this stage of my life, I have many ambitions, the first step of which is to carry out my Masters studies in Automotive Engineering. Attending U.K. universities is surely a dream for distinguished students all over the world, especially the ones who are passionate about education. Secondly and a more subtle reason being acquiring a degree that has global recognition has become a necessity if one desires to carve out a niche for oneself in this increasingly global economy. Given a chance I shall prove my worthiness.
