The people should control the amount of sugar consumption due to its devastating effect on our bodies. Sugar does more harm than good to our body, for example, it affects our concentration, it is easily addictive, and it keeps our body to function properly. Primarily, sugar is considered an “empty calorie” product which means that it has no essential fats, nutrients, proteins, or minerals to help our body. It is just pure energy. Rather than helping our body, sugar has negative effects on us, such as affecting our concentration. Without the nutrients that normal people need for the day, the people will most likely fall asleep easily and quickly. Especially for students, nutrients are essential in helping them concentrate during their studies. Adults also need their daily nutrients during work hours. Nowadays, many students are already distracted from other factors such as cellphones and computers. With an additional factor, sugar, this could lead to a serious consequence. Students could face an academic failure; adults could face the risk of losing their jobs. In addition to sugar affecting our concentration, sugar could also get people seriously addicted. without knowing when to stop. In other words, people get addicted to sugar easily and lose control over their consumption. According to an Australian study, sugar acts similar to some abusive drugs such as nicotine, and cocaine. It hijacks the brain chemistry by massive dopamine release in an area of the brain called Nucleus Accumbens. That is the reason why people were easily addicted to it and wanted to crave for more. People who are affected by sugar are experiencing overconsumption, which later are trapped in a situation of not being able to stop. Not only does sugar affects our concentration and our habits, it also affects the way our body functions. It causes insulin resistance that affects our metabolism which leads to many diseases such as type II diabetes, fatty liver disease, and kidney disease. Some of the diseases such as hypertension is caused by large amount of high fructose contained in the sugar. There is also a huge difference between natural sugar and refined sugar. The difference is the level of processing and the nutrients that were loss during the process. Not only refined sugar has negative effects, but natural sugar is not much different. The difference is depending on the amount you put in inside your foods and how much you consume each day. Therefore, sugar has more negative effects on our body than beneficial. The people should limit the amount of sugar consumption for it does more harm than good.
It affects our concentration and attention span by not providing us enough nutrients that our body needs. People get addicted to sugar and over consuming, which promotes us to have a bad habit. Later they will get in a situation of not being able to stop. The reason why people wanted to consume more and more sugar is because it acts similar to many drugs which takes over our mind and controls us. Not only does it affect our concentration and habits but it also affects how our body functions and keeps it away to function properly. Therefore, people should limit the amount of sugar consumption and think about the cons before you add sugar into your
foods.

For years doctors have been saying that refined sugars are empty calories and consist of absolutely no vitamins or minerals that people need to survive. Dentists warn that sugary foods encourage tooth decay. Many people avoid sweet food because it can lead to obesity, heart problems, diabetes and cancer. These negative responses by people’s bodies are actually warnings. Maybe people eat sugar for other reasons than the sweet taste. The human body's negative responses to sugar may be a similar purpose to the reason kids feel pain when they are playing too roughly. People’s consumption of sweet foods might also serve as a sign of defiance against their bodies’ health limitations. What many people do not realize is that their tasty treats can affect their mind and emotions.
We don’t even realize that something as small as sugar addiction could be more harmful. I always liked sweet foods and I would eat them often. Back in India before I moved to US one year ago, eating excess sugar did not do any bad effect on how I felt mentally and physically. After coming to USA, I continued eating sweet food in same amount but I started to feel like it is effecting negatively on the way I felt mentally and physically.

Known as the stress hormone, this substance impedes memory.
We are all familiar with sugar. It is sweet, delicious, and addictive; yet only a few of us know that it is deadly. When it comes to sugar, it seems like most people are in the mind frame knowing that it could be bad for our health, but only a few are really taking the moderate amounts. In fact, as a whole population, each and everyone of us are still eating about 500 extra calories per day from sugar. Yes, that seems like an exaggerated number judging from the tiny sweet crystals we sprinkle on our coffee, but it is not. Sugar is not only present in the form of sweets and flavourings, it is hidden in all the processed foods we eat. We have heard about the dangers of eating too much fat or salt, but we know very little about the harmful effects of consuming too much sugar. There still isn’t any warnings about sugar on our food labels, nor has there been any broadcasts on the serious damages it could do to our health. It has come to my concern during my research that few
There are many problems that result from the intake of too many sugar products. First, they can cause malnutrition. Secondly, too much sugar can cause obesity. And the final point deals with the external effect that sugar has on humans, mainly kids. This is the fact that sugar causes tooth decay.
Now is that what we want in our schools, violence due to sugary drinks. Come on people open your eyes sugary drinks should be banned. Based on an interview I have conducted this individual says drinking sugary drinks leaves her dehydrated. Let’s remove all sugary drinks from the vending machines, and promote healthy living. According to an article on CNN a new study suggested drinking sugar-sweetened beverages, may make certain cells in the body age faster, as my grandma would say “you old before you young”. Who would want to look forty when they only 20. I strongly believe that if we remove sugary drinks from our daily routine the level of diabetic’s patients would decrease and also less obese individuals as well. The more sugary drinks you intake the more body fat you will gain and this is when it becomes a problem. Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from god, you are not your own. You were brought at a price. Therefore honor god with your body. 1st Corinthians 6 verses
It can lead to obesity, heart disease, and can generally lower life expectancy of lives around the world. “the World Health Organization made a bold move by urging people to restrict their sugar intake to less than five percent of total calories. Sugar is a toxic poison and it has become the main problem in modern diets that is leading to Metabolic Diseases.
I think the real question Mr. Skeptic had is what are the dangers of refined sugar. After the HFCS debate that question is even bigger in my mind, and probably his. To me it's clear that HFCS isn't just void of nutrition, it's evil, so now it's time to see where sugar fits into this health discussion. Here is a quick list of problems I've found related to too much sugar in your diet: dental decay weight gain, obesity even leaches the body of vitamins and minerals impaired immune system, opening the door to attack, like of cold, heat, mosquitoes, microbes, etc. decreased bone density depletes the body of glucose, the real cell fuel we have brain function diminishes blood pressure goes "abnormal" malnourishment acidic, gassy stomach stressed endocrine system hormone imbalance elevated triglycerides and lowered HDL (the good cholesterol)
When you think of sugar, you probably think of white, crystal-like granules that your parents put in their coffee or that you put on your cereal, but it’s not. The propose of this experiment is to see how much natural sugar is in the cup of juice I am drinking. I have also always been curious if a lot of glucose is good for the human body. And if it is good for our daily lives. So throughout my research paper I am going to talk about how it is a benefit and a risk.
The great effect of sugar can put you at risk for heart disease or diabetes. According to Dr. Robert Lustig, who is a pediatrician and expert on how sugar affects the body, calls sugar poison. If you don’t want health problems, you better stay away from sugar.

Also, sugar can cause cavities, so people like their smile as much as I do then I suggest them to eat the least amount of sugar as possible. Also, people does not really think anything about it, but it will take that beautiful smile right away before they know it. The sugar that comes from sodas is really hard on our livers, stomachs, and kidneys.
