I have yet to take the ACTs. When I am done with my goals this year, I plan on taking the ACTs. I will be listing some of my strengths and as well some of my weaknesses in the Writing and English area. There are not as many strengths as there are weaknesses. I plan to attend college in the near future. Colleges love high scores on the ACTs. ACT scores are anywhere from twenty-two to thirty-six. These high ACT scores come with scholarships. Most colleges tend to look at the higher scores such as the ones nearest to twenty-two to thirty-six, but will take the lower scores near eighteen. With these lower scores you risk losing any chance of receiving a chance towards a scholarship. I am not at all going to pretend as if I have strengths in the Writing and English areas that I do not actually have. I am generally pretty organized when it comes to writing. Ahead of writing my actual rough draft, I like to jot down the main idea of each paragraph. Also before I turn in my paper, I will revise, proofread, and double check it. I feel confident in my word choice while I am writing. When writing, I try to pick the most sophisticated words I can. I try to obtain a new vocabulary from or during every piece that I write. I also try to keep my grammar usage at the highest level I can when writing new pieces. I personally believe that I have always had a reasonably strong sentence structure. Usually, when i am writing, my mind moves a million miles an hour, and I can only write so fast. Most of the time, the sentences just transfer right from my mind smack dab to the paper. Then, from there on out, the flow just continues. A perfect example is journals; my journals continually just flow instantly onto the page. So my two biggest strengths in writing are fluency and my word
Michael is a happy student who is working to improve his communication skills with his classmates. He is slowly making progress in his educational goals. Although Michael does show some frustration issues, he has shown great improvements and responds very well to praise, one on one attention, and immediate consequences. While Michael does need to be encouraged to participate in activities and independent work he is improving on these skills. However, he just needs an extra boost compared to most students.
Understanding one’s strengths and weaknesses is essential to becoming and being a good leader. “Purposeful leaders understand who they are” (Mayfield, 2013). The author of this paper has had previous opportunities to lead, and will reflect on her experiences using the assigned inventory. She will evaluate her skill set and discuss ways she can be an advocate for change with the hospital and community in which she is employed. Lastly, she will identify one personal goal for her leadership growth and explore different avenues for obtaining that goal.
When taking the two different personality tests, I received the same result for both. I am considered to have an ISFJ (Introvert, Sensing, Feeling, and Judging) personality type. These personality tests I believe help believe get more in depth with the type of person they are but also help them to see there are other people in the world that are like them. A few known people that are similar to my personality type are mother Teresa, and Barbra Bush. Along with learning about others like me, I was able to realize more into my strengths and weaknesses.
My five greatest strengths according to the StrengthsFinder survey are activator, restorative, achiever, command and relator, in rank order. Upon reading about these strengths, I can see how I have used and will continue to use them. I was aware of these strengths, for the most part, but while researching I was able to learn a few things. One article that stood out to me was “Don't let your strengths become your weaknesses” (Kaiser, & Kaplan, 2013). In this article, the possibility of strengths becoming weaknesses when overused was discussed. The authors explained how overdoing can be just as purposeless as under doing. The ability to read and respond adeptly is crucial in handling challenges, they explained. As with everything else in life, balance is key!
My ACT PLAN test composite score was an 18. I scored at or above (67%) of the United States and (38%) at or above my school. I scored the highest in English with a 21, which is above the benchmark. For Math, Science, and Reading I tied with a 17, all below the benchmark. The highest score that could be made was a 32 for the ACT PLAN Test. The highest score to be made on the ACT is a 36, and my predicted range of ACT score results were 19-22. We also got results back from the world of work map. These results will help me better myself with knowing what career I want to choose. My results included the following: engineering and technologies; natural science and technologies; medical technologies; medical diagnosis and treatment; social science; applied arts; and creative and performing arts. My five strengths according to the strength finder include; balance, this helps me be aware of treating all people equally regardless of the situation. I am neither in anyone 's favor or against anyone as this to me is selfishness and individualism. This would result in a situation where some people scale heights due to connections while others are lagging behind. I believe that a consistent environment where the rules apply to everyone is the best for individuals to function best (Rath, 2007). Flexibility is my next strength. By knowing that things do not always work out as planned has helped me change the tactics of how I perform my tasks. I took the ACT when I was junior in high school. I have anxiety disorder and have struggled with reading my whole life. This test was not my friend. In many ways it broke down my confidence and made me believe that I could not do great things because all that colleges looked at was a number to determine how well I would do in college. I received my score of a 20 which I was happy with given the circumstances. During my sophomore year in college, I realized that this score was not good enough. I needed at least a 23 to be accepted into the teaching program. Keep in mind that I have been in college two year and have a 3.75 GPA. But I still had to retake this test that has haunted me throughout my academic career. I retook the ACT and received a score of 24, which I am extremely proud of. Here the catch though, my reading score still wasn’t at college readiness according to the ACT. They suggested that before I go to college I should brush up on my reading skills. Winston Churchill has stated that, “Continuous effort (not strength or intelligence) is the key to unlocking our potential.” Intelligence can be important. It’s what helps us do quick calculations while working on an important, world-changing project, or even a small school assignment. However, someone could have all the intelligence in the world, and never have a chance to use it. Motivation is what gives the world a chance to apply it’s intelligence to important projects, big or small. Without motivation, no one would feel the need to change the world or pass a test. I gave this paper a lot of thought before I began to write. ?What qualities and traits do I posses that make me desirable as an employee, a teammate, and as a person?? First, you must be able to identify your own personal strengths and weaknesses in order to become a lifelong learner and an essential part of a ?team?. As technology is constantly growing you have to be willing to accept what makes you an asset or a liability in any given situation you may encounter in your life. The qualities and traits that I feel make me a valuable entity to my employers, co-workers, classmates and within my personal relationships are varied. The ACT and PSAT are two of the most important tests, you, as a high schooler, will ever take. When applying to the college of your choice, the college mainly looks at your ACT score to decide if they want you to be a part of their school, or not. Both the ACT and PSAT can also help you attain many, very useful scholarships, such as the National Merit Scholarship or the Auburn Presidential scholarship, which is a “full-ride” scholarship to Auburn University. So, if you want to succeed on these tests, you better listen to me.
Strengths and Weaknesses Throughout the Mid-SEE I have written reflections on my writing and participated in group activities. I have received comments from my peers and suggestions to help with revising my paper. With the help of my professor, Professor Church and my classmates, I was able to comprehend their suggestions to me to make my essay better and by revising my classmate’s essays, I was able to point out mistakes that I might have made in my essay, which made me go back to my essay and check and see if I had mistakes that just flew by my eyes. I have come to understand what my strengths and weaknesses are in my writings. What I tend to do wrong in my papers is trying to get the topic to stay on the topic throughout the paper.
I personally do not enjoy writing like most people would feel about reading a dictionary. I am cautiously treading water with every word I type. I have always found writing to be a tedious process. I have never found ease in wording something the way I want to; therefore, it usually sounds so much better in my head. I’ve never considered myself to be comfortable with writing in general. For example, I always had a hard time telling if I needed a comma in a sentence or not. Sometimes it was obvious, but it seems more confusing most of the time.
The ACT is a test taken by high school students for colleges around the nation to see an overall knowledge of subjects you learned in school so far. I have not taken the ACT test myself yet but i plan on taking it this year. Since I do want to go to college, I would really like a score that is above average. Colleges love high ACT scores for scholarships and I would like to not have a ton of student loans with me for the rest of my life. Strength is a term with many definitions. What does strength mean? Anyone can sit down and start to write down their strengths but, how many different types of strengths are there? There are personal strengths, mental strengths, and spiritual strengths that all have a positive effect on people’s lives. Throughout life, strength is what helps overcome the problems we face. Strength is defined by Dictionary.com as “a good or beneficial quality or attribute of a person or thing.” No matter what kind of strength different people in society have; strength is something gained through personal experiences and life. Strength is having the mind set to overcome all of life’s challenges and battles.
I believe that life is a learning experience and being able to recognize our own strengths and weaknesses can help us become better individuals in anything we choose to do, whether it is positive abilities and skills that can help achieve our goals or negative personal areas that need improvement. Knowing yourself and what you can do, can help you recognize and overcome your weaknesses.
