During my lifetime I’ve always had a boss. It was usually a teacher or an older peer in charge of me. Now that I’m an adult I have a job and my supervisors are my bosses. Having a full-time supervisor is quite irritating because you’re always being told what to do, they treat you however they want and they decide when they want you to work. Working as a cashier is any easy job if you’re having a good day and the customers are too. The downfall is the supervisors at my job. Minding my business, I’ll try to get every customer out as fast as possible. Then my supervisors ruin the day for me. They tell me to sell these stuffed animals that are expensive and no one wants to buy. This leads to my customers being angry at me because they’re already spending hundreds on their animals’ food. When the customers aren’t happy, I’m not happy. The supervisors return to their office without a care in the world while I deal with unhappy people hoping for my shift to end as quick as possible. …show more content…
The supervisors think they can treat me however they want just because they have more power. This doesn’t settle with me. Treat me wrong and ill return the favor. Most of the time I clash heads with my supervisors because they talk down to me as if I’m a slave working without pay. Being the bigger man, I let it go because what goes around comes around. What makes me laugh the most Is that they’re going to be working at a pet store for the rest of their lives while I finish college and find me a high paying job. The day I make a million dollars is the day I buy that store and talk down to them to show how irritating and disrespectful they treat
Panera Bread’s atmosphere is enjoyable. The employees and the managers keep the restaurant clean at all times. When I walked into the restaurant for the first time there were visible employees wiping off the table and sweeping. Panera Bread has almost no trash visible around the entire restaurant. Looking around, there were no trash cans in sight; they were hidden by doors and cabinets. Panera Bread receives ample amount of customers a day keeping the restaurant clean is important, but the workers keep everything running smoothly as well. While waiting in a moderately long line, the employees immediately noticed the incoming rush and started working as a team to get the customers and myself in and out. Along with the workers helping to make the line move faster, the customers in line around me are keeping conversation. We are entertaining each other making the wait time appear shorter. With the great customers and keeping the restaurant clean, Panera Bread workers and managers keep the restaurant well managed. The noise level is separated by the location of dining. In front of me a group a friends decided to have lunch at a table laughing and enjoying themselves and a woman behind me chose to eat alone while reading a book, sitting in a quiet corner. More importantly the manager was always walking around making sure tables were clean, and trash was not i...
Day after day, I work at Home Depot. I’ve worked at Home Depot for 6 months. My position there is a cashier. A few months have gone by and all I do is show up and do my job as a cashier. The cashiers have someone who runs the front end along with every register in the store, and that person is a head ashier. After what I see the head cashiers go through, I would never want to be a head cashier for the rest of my life.
Clinical Supervision is the life wire of any health are professional. It is the on the job teaching that takes place between the supervisor and supervisee. Most of the time the cashier working at the place will treat the customer like complete garbage and not showing any concern for them. They often go through their routine of “Have a good day” when most of them could care less about how the rest of the customers day really goes. Squidward is always treating the customer awful. Squidward has lied to the customers and has said some nasty words to the customers. He has denied customers items such as salt and ice cubes. Squidward has also fallen asleep on the job many times which is disrespectful to the customer. All of these things Squidward has done, is something that the average fast food cashier is accustom to. This type of working habits represents fast food cashiers
A few months ago while eating at Skylight Restaurant in Tumon, I witnessed a supervisor displaying incivility in the workplace. One of the workers handling the crepe section of the buffet was taking a great amount of time making crepes, which garnered a long line of customers. The supervisor saw this and started scolding the worker right in front of the customers and other workers around the
Over the summer I experienced my first real job in retail. It was fun because I didn’t have to always stand behind the cash register and deal with customers. I could be working at customer service one day and apparel the next day. While there were pros to having that job there were also cons. If I had to work in apparel I knew that I would be working hard the entire shift, and depending on what manager was in that day and what shift I got would determine how that day would end. For example, if I had to work in customer service during a closing shift I knew I would probably be in the front by myself for about half of time I worked and would be there longer than I planned. In all my experience with working in retail I have dealt with three
A good thing to do is understand the task the supervisor has to get accomplished and the period he or she has to work with. Clashing with a show that a person is not willing to work as a team or show no respect for leadership. Others team members can think that you ate not willing to work with them or side with you and no task get carry out resorting to overtime or termination. There are ways to work with a supervisor you disagree with by speaking with the supervisor before or after work or in writing.

“So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.” This aphorism was said by the enlightened Morrie Schwartz. I agree wholeheartedly with this and it is one of the teeming reasons that I, Haya Harb, have aspirations to one day be a Doctor.
The Human Resource (HR) Sergeant plays a big role in the Profession of Arms. In this paper, I will discuss what it means to be a profession, balancing the role of the Profession’s Leaders, the Army Professional Culture, and the Human Resource Sergeants Role in the Army Profession. Every profession in the Army has specific skills and duties. All Army professionals must have excellent leadership skills and moral character to promote within their designated fields. It is expected for all Human Resources Sergeants to be good leaders. As a leader, they are responsible for balancing between multiple job duties, guiding their soldiers, and accomplishing the mission or goal. I hope this paper proves the importance of the Human Resource Sergeant in the Profession of Arms.
As a duty supervisor, you are responsible for all the officers within your shift. Duty supervisor gives out orders to all the officers. He is responsible for maintaining order in the shift. He takes care of supervisory request from all the officers. If a suspect wants to talk to a supervisor, and probably file a complaint, Duty supervisor is called to the scene. The supervisor has to hear the suspect out, and to decide if the officer's decision was correct, or not. The duty supervisor has to give out patrol assignments, as well. He deals with a lot of situations, and that's why the supervisor's job isn't easy at all. It requires a lot of hard work, a lot of dedication to what you do. They need to keep their professionalism to the highest level possible, because all the officers look up to them. As a duty supervisor, you basically need to handle all your officers. You need to observe their work, and award it if they are doing a good job, or punish them if they do something that's not by the book. Supervisor has to make a correct decision about punishing people, too. That's why the position is really hard, because if you must punish someone you're good with, you need to be objective. You need to give him the punishment he deserves, because if you fail to do so, you will get disciplined as well. That's why people usually

When I was working in the hospital, I had a supervisor who did not quite understand what it took to be a leader. It felt as if she was part of the team rather than the leader of the team. She would gossip with her subordinates about other employees. There had been a time when I heard her call one of her employees an idiot when he was in the next room. She would also play favorites with the workers who would gossip with her. This created a division among her workers.
For some people, being the boss, and which by boss I mean business owner, would be the greatest thing ever. Most think you get to pick your own hours, make the most money, and make everyone do the things you want done. Of course there is work involved and it takes work to make it but the rewards will be better owning a business that succeeds. The ultimate goal is becoming a millionaire and retiring at the age of forty and just drawing money from business production. However they really don’t understand the work it takes to make it a million dollar company. When these people are finally able to own a business they get a rude awakening. I am in no way trying to offend the typical business owner when I say, owning a business can be a challenging task that can cause many complications in your life and if you’re not careful they can change your life entirely.
Nowadays, the numbers of students who are always looking for a part time job while they are attending college is increasing every day. According to an article was published in 1998 on The Futurist, the number of students who have a part-time job increased from 5% of students in the 1950s to almost 70% of the students in some communities (“Jobs hurt school performance” n. page). Because of a bunch of fee and cost that students have to handle, working during college seems to be a necessity than an option. The part-time jobs provide not only paychecks but also experience, skills for the students. It is very helpful for the students after they graduate college and look for a real job. Although there are some people who argue that having a job during
