According to the StrengthsFinder survey, my five greatest strengths are achiever, consistency, analytical, responsibility, and belief. “Achiever describes a constant need for achievement” (Gallup, 2010). I utilize this strength every day. I cannot make it through a day without successfully completing some type of task in order to feel like the day is not a waste. I plan to utilize this strength in any job that I may obtain in the future. In my opinion, staying productive is the only way to be productive.
Consistency is another strength that I have. This means that balance is important and that I like to treat people equally (Gallup, 2010). I have always attempted to be fair with everyone that I meet on the job and in my social

This forces me to take ownership for anything I may commit to and feel obligated to follow though until it is completed (Gallup, 2010). This is a strength that I have been developing since I was child. I utilize this in my personal life and also in my professional life.
My fifth strength is Belief. This means that I possess core values and I am family-oriented, altruistic, spiritual, and value responsibility and high ethics (Gallup, 2010). I believe that I developed this strength while going to church and going through different situation in my personal life. I constantly utilize this strength when giving advice and ministering the word of God to those who need it.
Over the years, I have noticed that whenever I am able to utilize one of my strengths on a job I tend to put forth my best efforts. “People who use their strengths every day are six times more likely to be engaged on the job” (Sorenson, 2014). I also feel more confident in my abilities and the outcome of my task when it is completed. I believe that if employees are able to learn what their strengths are and how use their strengths then their performance and productivity would increase. This would help the organization that they are a part of tremendously with growth and

Other benefits are employees’ well-being is improved and also a better life (Sorenson, 2014). When I have the opportunity to utilize my strengths, I am much more engaged into my work. My performance level goes up because it is something that I am comfortable with doing and is able to do it well. The fact I can do something that I like, stress-free while do it, and capable of doing it, ensures that would stay with that organization and
Identifying and understanding your own personal strengths is key to being a successful leader. Knowing your strengths means you can focus your efforts to maximize results, in yourself and in others. Strengths Finder 2.0 is designed to uncover your strengths and utilize these strengths to your advantage (Rath, 2007). Identifying and applying these strengths to your leadership style, will enhance your effectiveness as a transformational leader.
I tend to agree with this assessment as it brings out my best qualities as strengths in the right way and enables me to assess myself to realize my potential. The strength that can best describe me is the balance which also means consistency. This has helped me cultivate my reputation and has helped me balance my choices. The one that surprised me is courage since at most times I am a team player, and this rarely enables me to stand out
One strength I saw myself, as having when I enter college is being able to understand and critical think about a essay/article that I have read. However, after taking English 101, I have now learned that this is a strength of mine as well as a weakness.
Another strength that I have is being an active listener. I listened to my clients and utilized a lot of micro skills. Insuring confidentiality was also a strength that I developed closer to the end of field placement. Conducting assessments and making sure I tracked and exhausted the topics was also a strength that I identified throughout field. Practicing from a strengths perspective was also another area I excelled at when working with my clients. A skill that I could work on is being more conscious of self in terms of body language during interviews, because at times I find myself with my arms cross which may give an indication that I’m closed off or
I can definitely use this understanding because now I know the reasons behind why I make certain decisions and I can use my strengths to solve a problem within a group setting or a personal problem. I think adding value to my role in a group or society will be helped through my strength of being able to treat everyone equally and not give out favoritism through being a relater. I think that also being an activator will also be helpful in solving problems with friends, family, or colleagues.
The study undertaken by Clifton and Nelson (1992) emphasize why we must focus and enhance our strengths while managing our weaknesses. They candidly elucidate the significant bearing of employees’ strengths and weaknesses have on the overall performance of the organization. According to them today’s business executives should abandon traditional views, focus on developing and utilizing employees’ strengths, and ardently examine the impact of weakness on overall company performance Consequently, they must confront stereotypical notions and beliefs concerning “training, promotion, and employee development. In chapter 5 and 6, Clifton and Nelson have explained how “strengths should be developed in the framework of mission in relation to others.”
Through the self-assessment instruments utilized in this program, I have gained wealth of knowledge about my strengths, and weaknesses and how they affect my personal and professional life. By using different exercises, I recognized new strengths and weaknesses. At the same time, I identified ways to develop my strengths and overcome my weaknesses. The Kolb Learning Style Inventory (LSI) identified some of my strengths as the ability to get things done, initiating, and taking risks (Kolb, 2007). In the Strongest Self Feedback Exercise, some of the feedback listed my strengths as having excellent interpersonal and communication skills, being self-confident, a fast learner, determined, hardworking, and an awesome listener (Drucker, 2005).
As I stated earlier, loyalty is one of my top values, and I believe that if I am a loyal leader many people will trust me and develop their leadership attributes. Along with loyalty comes relationships. To me, the two go hand in hand. It is nearly impossible to have a healthy relationship when someone is not being loyal. I believe my greatest opportunity to be loyal and successful is to utilize my leadership ability to fulfill my potential. I plan to use the strengths I discovered from StrengthsFinder 2.0 to navigate my values down whichever path I decide to choose for the remainder of my college career, and any post-graduation occupation. I believe that my top strength, harmony, will continue to affect the way I make relationships. Harmony has been an extremely large part of my life and I intend to rely on it throughout my life. I know that my second strength, adaptability, will give me the tools to encounter anything that life throws at me. I understand that things are not always going to go the way you intend. Having the ability to adjust my thought processes is just one way adaptability will make a difference in my life. I believe that my third strength, WOO, will help me to build relationships and expand my network no matter how old I am. Being able to relate and connect with others is something I strive to do in my daily life. My fourth strength, communication, goes hand in hand with WOO.
As strengths are learned, a person builds on those discoveries and can build on who he or she will be in the world. These strengths will also help that person grow as a leader. By building on one’s strengths, that person builds the blocks to be a good leader. This tool is perfect for those who have never seen themselves as a leader, as well as help them discover how to use his or her strengths to be the leader anyone would want to work with (Rath, 2008).
In an assessment, I have learned that my strengths are achiever, ideation, communication, empathy, and strategic. These strengths are great deal of stamina. They take immense satisfaction in being productive and busy. An achiever has constant need for attainment. At the end of the day they must accomplish something meaningful to feel about themselves. If the day passes without some form of achievement, no matter how small, Achievers feel dissatisfied. This strength is powerful to make teachers strive toward the next goal on the horizon. Teachers can take advantage of self-motivation by setting challenging goals. That is, they can help their students to finish a project by the target goals they impose. In this regard, this will help students to focus on their talents and strengths as well.
They are also dedicated to whatever they do. When they have challenges to face they always push through them when it gets difficult. Lastly they are open minded and flexible. This is also a strength when working with others. Because of this
Everyone has a trait that defines them, that helps shape them into their own unique personality. None of those traits are inherently good or bad but there are ones that are more noticeable in the grand scheme of things. Reflecting on the past years, I have noticed subtle patterns that concern the people that I look up to as well as admire. Each individual all share common traits that help to make my life easier. Perseverance, an open mind, and passion are admirable traits that have consistently proven that individuals who possess them are the ones that instill inspiration and hope.
Every employee has their own unique strengths. Rather than focus on weaknesses the strengths based approach focuses on strengths
For example, I’m struggling with math because it’s a new material, but instead of dropping the class I’m going to do anything so I can pass that class. Even if I fail the class this semester, I will take it again and get a better grade because I’m not a quitter. Another example is I make sure to be from ten to fifteen minutes early for my classes. These strengths will not just help me in my school, but it will always help me throughout life, and I can pass this advice to my kids and they can pass it to their
In my Learning team, my personal strength is having good people skills. I meet and get involved with new people everyday whether it be work or school related. I enjoy speaking, listening and giving input to my team members so that they are aware that they can count on me to participate as a team player in our Learning Team. Good people skills are very important in a group setting because of all the di...
