The field placement experience at Silver Saddle group home allowed me the opportunity to put into practice what I have learned while in the Social Work program her at Northern Arizona University. Throughout field placement I have had the opportunity to practice on a micro, mezzo, and macro level and strengthen my professional social work skill while maintaining a ethical standpoint. Field has also allowed me hands on experience to advocate for clients, insure social justice, provide services, and build strong relationships with clients and the community. Working with the clients at Silver Saddle, facilitating anger management group and being able to identify the clients needs have been the greatest experience that has had a large impact on my learning. Working with clients helped me set a professional standpoint while maintain healthy boundaries with my clients, which is something I struggled with because I wanted to be more like a mom to the clients. Talking with my field instructor helped me establish more clear boundaries, which is something that’s very import as a social worker so this impacted my learning. Another strength that I have is being an active listener. I listened to my clients and utilized a lot of micro skills. Insuring confidentiality was also a strength that I developed closer to the end of field placement. Conducting assessments and making sure I tracked and exhausted the topics was also a strength that I identified throughout field. Practicing from a strengths perspective was also another area I excelled at when working with my clients. A skill that I could work on is being more conscious of self in terms of body language during interviews, because at times I find myself with my arms cross which may give an indication that I’m closed off or
