Why I Want To Join Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society

Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society that provides grants to students aiming to receive Associate’s degree at either two-year colleges or four-year universities. Collaborating with Phi Theta Kappa honor society, Marymount California University offered me to consider joining this program in early December 2015 because I had a volunteering experience and met the cumulative grade point average of 3.3 in a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 60 college-level units. However, unfortunately, I was not eligible to apply for this program that far due to my inappropriate English language class standing. Nevertheless, since I still maintain the necessary requirements for joining Phi Theta Kappa honor society, Marymount California University informed me in November 2015 that I am eligible to apply for the program again next year. The deadline for applying is in February 2016; thus, I will enter Phi Theta Kappa honor society after February 2016.

Dean’s List is a scholarly achievement at Marymount California University. Since I maintain high overall grade point average, I have been named to the Dean’s List of the highest distinction for academic achievement at Marymount California University. In order to earn and keep this recognition, I had to obtain a 3.9 grade point average or better and complete 12 or more college-level units in each semester. The …show more content…

First-Class Sportsman equates to regional champion title. I received this title for outstanding basketball achievements and results shown on different tournaments and championships in 2012 and 2013 years, including the taking the first place in March 2013 on the Semifinal of Championship of Russia. The title is awarded only on the official championships. First-Class Sportsman means that I have met necessary test result standards and conditions in order to be accredited with First-Class Sportsman title by the Russian
