Walking into college, I always wanted to join a brotherhood. But, it was hard to find the one for me at first. After striking out on a few other fraternities at SEMO, I didn’t know if Greek Life was for me. But after talking one night with Brian Smith, I would give my one last shot to Sigma Nu. Looking back, I couldn’t have been happier with my decision. Over the past few months I have grown into a better person and have achieved goals I wouldn’t have even thought about being able to achieve. Looking back throughout my candidate process I can say I have strived for Love, Truth, and Honor. With Love, as I started college looking for a brotherhood that would accept me for who I was and not try to mold me into a new person. I wanted a fraternity that would push me as well as well help me throughout my years at college. With Sigma Nu, I believe I have found that. With Sigma Nu, I felt accepted as I came out as gay to the people around me. No one had cruel words or hate towards me, with the actives at Sigma Nu, they actually took me under their wing and had told me that they would stand up for me when need be. …show more content…

But, with those hardships and challenges, I have created memorable memories, as well as created a better understanding of the chapter and what I would want to see out of myself. Being in Sigma Nu, is an honor and I have learned that throughout my process as a candidate. I have learned that you need to take everything to heart and cherish the things. Listening to many alumni it is a golden time to be in Sigma Nu and you should not take advantage of it. Also another thing about being a nationally renowned chapter, you have high standards to hold. But with the Mu Kappa Chapter, we don’t just hold them, we exceed them daily, by pressing ourselves to the next level and achieving
