I believe in perseverance and achievement, especially when it’s something you’ve worked so hard for. And, I’m not talking about a small achievement like finishing your homework right before it’s due. I am talking about a bigger achievement than that, massive even. An achievement that makes you jump for joy and, grin from ear to ear. Sometimes I don’t always believe in myself, that I might not work hard enough to meet my goal. There came a time where I wanted to give up. When I thought I wouldn’t have enough perseverance and will power to get something done. Once I start something that took a courageous amount of effort, it takes me a while to complete it. For example, I am a dancer, you'll probably hear me talk a great deal
“Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no help at all. Dale Carnegie believed that perseverance could overcome even the harshest obstacles. Perseverance is inspired by a purpose, an unsatisfied drive to achieve a goal. During a cataclysmic event, only people with a purpose endure.
Encouragement plays a significant role in my success. Without encouragement, the achievement won't come true. Juliet Ferking, the author of "A Drive to Achieve the Extraordinary" from This I Believe: Life Lessons, tells her story about how she succeeds at things that normal people don't. No matter what people say, she achieved big things in her life. Her only encouragement are those who actually supported her (Ferking). My connection to Ferking's essay is that without the encouragement that my family and friends are giving me, I wouldn't have the motivation to pursue my degree to have a good career. Even if other people ridicule my choice of degree, I won't succumb to their words.
Society often clings to the notion that success is a simple result of individual merit; that those successful “outliers” got to where they are with passion, skill, and hard work.
Most of the time I step up to the plate, I fail. It is tolerable if I fail; it is human nature. But when I go up to the plate and do everything right, I succeed. All my dedication, practice and determination pays off when I finally succeed and then it feels amazing! All the hard work comes down to finally being able to accomplish something after you’ve failed and failed again. The ability to be able to focus on a goal and accomplish that goal is what you need to succeed at many things in life.
The quality of unimaginable success is determined by grit. Despite confronting difficult life circumstances that delay the process individuals who are passionate, intelligent, and dedicated to one’s own success will continue maintaining consistency throughout their journey. Success is measured by an individuals’ commitment to effectively work hard towards life-changing goals. In the journal article “Grit: Perseverance and Passion for Long-term Goals,” Angela L. Duckworth conducts several studies in order to convey human’s capacity for higher achievements while still enduring challenges and failure. Although Duckworth’s research has proven that individuals who are less gritty tend to shift trajectory, I believe working hard and keeping “stamina” is essentially the key to achieving your goals (1088).
big role in having perseverance in many ways possible. When I was 7 years old I was a ballerina
I define perseverance as the ability to do something despite the presence of obstacles which may prevent me from achieving success. However, I am aware that the things we aim for in life doesn't come easy and it is not simple. Therefore, this makes it a challenge for us humans to not losing sight of our goals and aims no matter how hard or long it takes us to reach that certain goal. This is why I value willingness. I’m willing to do whatever it takes to reach my goal and success without giving up. I know that one day I might reach a point where I might fail and wouldn't be motivated enough to get up and continue, but that is no excuse to permanently give up as I also believe in short and temporary failures. After all, we all learn from our
“Perseverance is failing 19 times and succeeding the 20th” (Julie Andrews). This is because somebody has to keep trying no matter how hard it gets, no matter how much pain it is causing them, no matter what harm it could do to them mentally or physically. They just have to keep getting up and going for it, and one day someday they will succeed. This is so somebody does not give up until they succeed. The google dictionary ¨definition¨ of perseverance is: “continue in a course of action even in the face of difficulty or with little or no prospect of success.” Perseverance is not giving up even when all odds are faced against somebody, and if somebody fails getting back up and trying again, and not giving up until somebody succeed. ¨Persistence¨
I believe in hard work. Working hard will eventually pay off in the end. If you want something, you will do all you can to get it. Hard work can lead to success, and possibly a better life. You must be willing to work hard for the things that you want in life, big or small. I believe we as people should stop looking for the easy route to achieve things to get where we want to be. Instead put forth the effort that it takes to accomplish goals and/or dreams. Everything must be worked for, so why not work hard and achieve those things. Don’t be lazy and expect them to be handed to you.
I believe everyone can be successful as long as they try. You just have to have something called grit . “Grit is passion and perseverance for very long-term goals. “ says Angela Duckworth .I believe no matter how bad life gets there will always be something good coming your way. You just have to have grit. Thats where no matter how hard things get, you keep pushing. You just can't give up, cause if you do, your dreams will never come true.
Maybe when we fail, we think we are not worthy of success. When the real meaning of perseverance is to embrace our fail, and strive our own way to success.
Thanks to my perseverance, my life is beginning to head in a better direction. Recently, I have been able to finally get insurance once more, so I hope to start seeing a therapist soon. The journey of my life is far from over, and I do not doubt that there will be plenty more obstacles to face, but I know that I will be able to survive them. My strength has been truly tested, and thanks to that, I know that I have the perseverance to keep going. I may stumble, but I have learned how to get back up again and keep
What I think makes someone a sucess, is if they try their hardest, or if the person wins or loses. My mom always told me, “Sucess is way more than just winning, it’s trying your best no matter what.”
Since before 1900’s intelligence was the single most important aspect to achieving success and determining future ambitions. This is shown through Intellectual Quotient test commonly known as IQ tests. Tanner (2015) explains that the IQ test was developed by English and French psychologists during the start of World War One. IQ testing was established to decided potential officers from a vast amount of recruits. However, in recent history the theory of intelligence has been challenged due to an article written by William James which question why do some people achieve more than others with matched intelligence? (Duckworth et al. 2007). These sources identify whether character such as perseverance or intellectual ability are important for accomplishing
I believe in persistence. With persistence, no matter how difficult a task is, I may fail multiple times; nevertheless, I will eventually laugh to the end.
