Most of the time I step up to the plate, I fail. It is tolerable if I fail; it is human nature. But when I go up to the plate and do everything right, I succeed. All my dedication, practice and determination pays off when I finally succeed and then it feels amazing! All the hard work comes down to finally being able to accomplish something after you’ve failed and failed again. The ability to be able to focus on a goal and accomplish that goal is what you need to succeed at many things in life. During my life, I have failed many times. I am a baseball athlete. I have played baseball since I was four years old. I have gained a lot of knowledge about the sport through the years but I am not perfect. I continue to strike out, miss pop flies
and easy ground balls. I remain positive and keep practicing. I am also an exceptional student. I have earned an A average for all my classes throughout school. Even though I try my hardest, I sometimes get poor grades. I feel frustrated when this happens but continue to do the best I can in school. These qualities will help me with my goal of becoming a veterinarian. I have a love for all animals and always have. When I was younger I always wanted a pet but until recently I have not had one. Caring for an animal of my own has taught me to be responsible and considerate. Waking up early to take him out for a walk, brushing him, bathing him, and feeding him are all responsibilities that make me even more determined to reach my goal. Even though some days it is a struggle to take care of him, this doesn’t change my intention of becoming a veterinarian. I understand that college is already challenging but with my goal of becoming a vet, it will be even harder because of the additional years of college needed to become a doctor. I will continue to grow and learn by volunteering at animal shelters and around my community to help animals in need of assistance. This is where my skill of perseverance will assist me in my future years of education and a professional career. .
You can’t expect success if you quit with each curveball that life throws at you, rather, what you need to do is to dig deep into your inner self and find the strength to keep moving forward in order to come out on top. That’s the message I try to send to people whenever I attempt something, no matter what challenge comes my way, I will overcome it and I will succeed. My goal is to prove to as many people as I possibly can through my perseverance and hard work that anything that you set your mind to can be achieved, especially if you have the heart and dedication to push
People have said that to succeed, you must first fail. I didn’t really understand this until failure became so present in my life. In the beginning, my team was losing game after game, and getting knocked out of tournament after tournament. It was hard to keep playing on a team that was struggling so much. “Hang in there guys. We’re
Failure can cause a torrent of mixed emotions and thoughts. One can begin to doubt their motives for even attempting to succeed at a certain task. Some people may choose to give up after failure, but there are a select few who rise up to the occasion and move forward to try and succeed no matter how many tries it takes. By overcoming those difficult moments in life, it gives a person a sense of accomplishment and pride and that alone is a beautiful thing.
How many times have you failed in your life? I bet it’s a lot. Have you ever let that bring you down and stop you from trying? Samuel McChord Crothers once said, “Try as hard as we may for perfection, the net result of our labors is an amazing variety of imperfectness. We are surprised at our own versatility in being able to fail in so many different ways.” We try as hard as we can to be perfect, but we never are, and never will be. We fail so many times, and in so many different ways. We have to grow and learn from our imperfections. This quote from Samuel McChord Crothers can be connected to my life, literature, and in the world and history around us.
Failure leads to disappointments but sometimes it can result in great lessons and successes. People can go through hard times, but if they stick it out and see it through, the failures and hard times can lead to success. This happened to me recently involving soccer. It was our second game of the high school season, and we were playing Northeastern. I had started the game and after the national anthem and the announcing of our names, the game whistle had blown, singling the start of the game. The first half went by slow it seemed to never end. With the end of the first half we were tied 0-0. The halftime talk was not very positive, understandably, considering we weren't playing well. Then the whistles blew again and we took the field to start
Throughout my life I have failed many things. Some of them were big things and others were minor ones. A great example of a failure I had was my first wrestling match. I started participating in wrestling my sophomore year of high school, and I had no idea n how to do anything. I would go to the wrestling room every day after school to practice and try my best to get better. The practices were not easy, it required a lot of mental and physical strength to be successful at it. When I started I was having a hard time getting used to it because my mental strength was not as strong as my physical strength. Eventually I got used to it and practices became easier. I started to get my confidence during the practice wrestling matches we had with fellow
Life has so many amazing things to offer. I tried hard to get where I am at in life. I wanted to give up so many times but why give up when want you’re working for is right at your fingertips. I did extra classes so that I could graduate a year early in high school; it was hard, I wanted to give up so I started d to fail paper. My mom stepped in and told me it’s my education I can do what I want. She said, you are better than a quitter Stormmie, if you want something go for it no matter how hard life gets. All because of my mother showed me she believed that I could keep going, I didn’t give up. I achieved way more than I ever imaged I would in high school. I graduated a year early and got valedictorian in my graduating class. This helps
Compared to the beginning of the year, I believe I have improved as a writer. I also think that my writing style has changed. For example this year I have learnt how to cite sources and direct quotes properly. In my “Last Rung on the Ladder” essay, I used to place a period inside the direct quote like in this example, “‘...have had a child.’ (King,15 ).” I have also improved on introducing the quotes. I do not say “the following quote shows…” anymore either. Now I usually talk about what the quote is about then present the quote. Another thing I have improved on is transitions between paragraphs. I used to say, “the first reason is …, the second reason is …” and so on. Now I connect my previous paragraph to the next one so that is is more
Failure is apart of life, it can make or break a person. When a person experiences a type of failure it is now up to them to see how they respond. They can choose the high road, and become a stronger person for it. Then they can choose the low road, the easy way out. The easy way out is never a good choice. It can lead only to destruction. The high road is the right choice to take when responding to failure. It will lead down a path of success. Jessica Lahey’s article, “When Success Leads to Failure” is an article that shows how kids are experiencing failure. Lahey says that, “these kids have a fear for failure, and that they have given up natural loves for learning. They are scared of not being successful”(Lahey). The truth is life is hard there will be failure. There is nothing in this world that comes easy to anyone.
Everyone in life experiences failure. It can affect people positively or negatively and that all depends on how they react to the experience. If one lets their failure overcome their dreams, it will lead them in the wrong path. But if one views their failures as a motive to succeed and grow, then they are on their way to becoming successful. For me, I let my failures in life help build onto my character and define the person I am today. My childhood injury is my example as I let this moment affect the outcome of my dreams I had then.
The remembrance of failure generally has a few phases. Phase one is the recollection of the heart sickening, gut-punching feeling that originally accompanied it, two is a hearty grimace, and three is a bit of a chuckle. At their present time the hardships that I faced my freshman and sophomore years of high school seemed like my own personal armageddon. I criticized my younger self for my obliviousness entering the high school world, but I soon realized that I had a couple of different options under my belt to deal with such things. The first was daydreaming that Doc from Back to the Future would knock on my door and give me the opportunity to tell my freshman self to wake up; the second was to be proactive and learn from my academic malfeasance.
okay. As humans and especially as athletes of course no one wants to fail, but you must fail to learn and grow as an athlete. In the end the only thing that matters is that you keep trying and never give up. Also being an athlete making mistakes it has helped me evaluation wise because I can evaluate my mistakes on my own and challenge myself to fix them. When looking at a person it’s easy to pick up on their mood and how they’re feeling which is a problem I struggled with playing sports.
I have had many times in my life where I have failed and it never gets easier. But I've learned that it is a healthy thing and turned it to my advantage. Any other person, plant, or animal can fail. Plant's fail to grow in the right place they wither and are weak because of it. Animals fail to see that their prey can move faster than them, so they learn from their experiance and come up with ways to negate that advantage the prey has on them. Humans plan to grow up a certain way, slack on their schooling, don't pay attention in class, so they fail that class. But they can always make the choice to learn from every experiance, to grow, to try harder next time. Look at sports stars, do you think they just started out great, no they didn't. They put in the work and sweat to grow and become better each and every time they fail. I did the same thing; I failed at football, something I thought I would just crush. Then I failed, it hurt my pride and I didn't think anything mattered cause I wasn't the best anymore; but I learned from my experiance, I learned I'm not the best and I probably never will
Failure is something that everyone has to encounter at least one time in their life because nobody’s perfect. Many people think failure is this terrible thing and that nothing ever good comes out of it. But I am here to tell you that something good can come out of failure if you take it and make it into something great. I grew up playing baseball all my life. I loved the game and I loved stepping out on the field almost everyday during the season playing.
It doesn’t matter if they are failing or success, the only thing matter is how hard people are trying during the process. The value of success will worth and have respect after they walk through failure. It’s important on how people stand up after they failed, not how they failed, because everyone will fail at least one time on their life. A good example of people who fail but they stand up and learn from it is people who play sport. At first time of playing, no one will good at sport. Sometime they make a common mistake when they start play but if they learn from it, they won’t make that same mistake again during the game. To have that success they have to make mistake and fail during the practice so they can learn from it and practice to overcome their failure. But people who never fail when they play, they may make a common mistake on the
