Dear National Honors Society Selection Committee, It is a tremendous honor to be considered for membership in the most prestigious Honor Society available at Wapato High School. It is even more grand to be able to work towards enrollment in the Society side by side with such an astoundingly gifted group of young men and women. I am only being considered for potential membership in the National Honors Society because I have demonstrated an exemplary academic attitude, and have proven this through the grades I have attained during the years I have spent in the Wapato School District and the fondness amongst my teachers I have achieved. There are also other characteristics besides good scholarship I must fill for membership in the Society, those being services I have done to benefit others in the community, leadership positions I have held, and an original and interesting demonstration of …show more content…
character.
Thus, explaining the criteria I must meet, I wish to give unto you a detailed account of my qualifications for gaining membership in the National Honors Society. The first requirement for consideration is an overall outstanding grade point average and the ability to maintain or improve upon that grade throughout my high school career. I believe I have done more than express my deep desire to achieve beyond that of my peers in and out of the classroom, and continue to do so to this day. When first appearing in the Wapato School system in the 7th grade, I had immense trouble maintaining any good grades. Now, I don’t blame this on anybody but myself, as I was never told throughout my childhood leading up to then that I should pay attention to my schoolwork. I know this may seem hard to believe, but I was simply considered more
academically inclined than my siblings. This was self evident from the many years I had spent at Harrah Elementary School, as my test scores showed significant strength in many cumulative areas, be it math, science, or English skills. But since then I have grown as a student, and continue to grow, as I pursue a higher level of knowledge on the world, asking my teachers important questions, providing insight on learning in the class, and making sure I try my absolute best everyday. There have certainly been ups and downs in my record, while attaining below average grades in middle school, but swiftly shaping up once entering high school, getting just short of a 4.0 GPA my freshman year. This following year has been much better, as I’ve not drawn short of perfect grades, and have attacked each task in my classes with the intention of full completion and beyond. Although this track record is good, you can rest assured that I won’t stop at straight A’s, but I’ll surpass what I think is most possible by going above the common expectations for the duration of my academic studies. To have a learned mind in the way of mental education is certainly a major component in leading a fulfilling life, but to fairly understand what it takes to be an asset to a community, you must serve that community so it may benefit from such work. In this way, I have meagerly provided such services, and I really only blame lack of these endeavors on myself, as I have not jumped to action in completing duties that fit into the service category. It is not always simply that I do not choose to do any community work, it is that I have minimal opportunity to do so. If given the choice to provide a service that would benefit the general population, I gladly would, if my schedule between school work and chores lines up. For the few activities I have participated in, I have provided what I perceive to be as my finest effort, doing what I could in the time spent. In the future, I wish to engage in more services, as much as possible to gain experience so that I may apply it in my later life and careers.

“Leadership, dreams, scholarships, service, pride and character”, the first words that come to mind when I hear “National Honor Society”. Being chosen for National Honor Society is a great honor, as it has proved that from my childhood till now my hard work has paid off. From the beginning of high school, as a freshman to now a junior, I have always pushed myself to do better, but not better than others, better than myself. I had competition with myself and my past grades, as I emboldened myself to do better than each of my past marking period grades. I heartened myself to get stronger grades, because since the day I found out in freshman year that there was National Honor Society I was determined to get in. The day of my sister’s graduation
Being a potential candidate of the National Honor Society is a distinction that I greatly honor. I wish to be a member of the prestigious group for the various benefits to myself, my school, and my community. A member of my family was a former member of the National Honor Society; he has mentioned many positive benefits of being a member and how being a member is beneficial to the community. Due to my exemplary qualities of a National Honor Society member, I am qualified to be part of the chapter.
As a student at Northvale Public School, I have grown up with my older siblings being inducted into an organization called the National Junior Honor Society. I had seen all the hard work and dedication they put into their school work and activities just to get into this society, making me want to be just like them. Then a few weeks ago, I found a note on my desk in homeroom telling me that I had been nominated to be apart of this society. Through citizenship and character, leadership, and service, I intend on being inducted into the society I have heard so much about. Though it will take a lot of effort this school year, being a part of this society is a dream of mine that I will make sure to come true.
I am honored to be among the students who are being considered for the National Honor Society. I must admit that this is a group that I have been anticipating joining since the beginning of my high school career. I believe that I deserve this honor and this chance because I have worked very hard to get here. The National Honor Society is known for recognizing students with grades and praiseworthy character, I believe that I have both. My grades are a priority at school because when it comes down to it that is what I will be judged on, alongside my character and attitude. As a student athlete, I pride myself on being a good role model, not just in my home and school, but also in my community. I have participated in many activities that served
It is with great honor to be considered among the students of my class to be a part of the National Honor Society. the National Honor Society (NHS) has been an organization that has displayed great interest to me, with new leadership skills and responsibilities to take upon. Being inducted into the National Honors Society is what I have been waiting for. Becoming a member is nothing more than a dream come true, and I appreciate it greatly. If I am to be chosen as a member I know that I will be a positive and dependable participant in society activities. Due to my abilities and past experiences, I can be considered a valuable candidate because I demonstrate the qualities of leadership, service, and character. I do feel that if I am chosen, I will do nothing detract from the prestige and respectability that is associated with the society.

When I initially received the epistle inviting me to apply for the National Junior Honor Society, my inceptive thought was of gratitude for the recognition. My academic success has been a staple in my life since pre-kindergarten. Whether at school or in any other setting, learning is one of my major objectives. It gives me the self satisfaction of obtaining knowledge and sharing it with others. Maintaining an unweighted GPA of 4.0 for the past 2 1/2 years in middle school has not been without challenges, but those trials will help to develop strength needed to navigate through
Entering my freshman year, I did not take any honors courses that my high school offered, which made me realize that I need to work hard and maintain high grades in my classes. As a result of my past year of tedious efforts, my sophomore year I was selected into Bayonne High School's outstanding “Academy and Fine Arts”. As I excelled through my academic career through the Academy, I was put through the painstaking task of maintaining high grades within rigorous courses. However, my hard work and accomplishments did not conclude with this, I was recently accepted into The National Honors Society, Rho Kappa Omega Society, World Language Honors Society, and English Honors Society. Not only did I excess academically, but I also had many research accomplishments. For example, I conducted a bacterial growth research project where I observed the effects of natural-occurring compounds on the growth rate of “Streptococcus pneumoniae” as a means of determining which compound will be most beneficial for
