“Leadership, dreams, scholarships, service, pride and character”, the first words that come to mind when I hear “National Honor Society”. Being chosen for National Honor Society is a great honor, as it has proved that from my childhood till now my hard work has paid off. From the beginning of high school, as a freshman to now a junior, I have always pushed myself to do better, but not better than others, better than myself. I had competition with myself and my past grades, as I emboldened myself to do better than each of my past marking period grades. I heartened myself to get stronger grades, because since the day I found out in freshman year that there was National Honor Society I was determined to get in. in 2015, a National Honor Society medal was put around her neck as she took part of it, it encouraged me even more, because the day of my graduation in 2019, I wish for that medal to be around my neck as well. Being selected as a candidate for National Honor Society demonstrates that I have achieved and I am in the right path of my goal being successful as a student full of energy and perseverance. Achieving the other half of my goal which is to be a member of the National Honor Society would prove my excellence academically and personally as I possess qualities needed such as, perseverance, leadership, and service abilities. As a student, I believe that my academic achievements are due to my commitment and hard work.
My excellence in my grades have resulted in a GPA of 3.7 as I feel that these are the results of all the days and nights that I have spent staying awake studying and completing assignments to the best of my abilities. For me, I consider that skills needed for the future are necessary to possess because it leads to the prosperity of a career. I have committed myself entirely to take all types of experience that will pursue my career as a Master of Business Administration, Finance and Operations. Through my commitment, it develops my leadership skills as I cherish them into my life as a road to success. I have proven that I have achieved a mass amount academically in addition to taking classes a year ahead of the rest of most juniors. Furthermore, this year which is my junior year I am taking a College Now class known as History of the Caribbean. It is an honor to be in a college level class in 11th grade and keep up with the rest of my life and academic …show more content…
schedule. Throughout life, I have faced numerous challenges whether it is academically or just an experience towards life.
A schedule of a student becomes very tight as they need to balance everything out in all ways they can. For example, this year due to me taking a College Now class I have needed to compromise my entire schedule, donating another hour of my life into school. Through the past years of high school my classes started at 8:00 AM, however, now my classes start at 7:00 AM. Along with this class I have regents based classes which I manage such as Physics, English, and U.S. History, yet I take Pre-Calc this year. As a student, I always hear other students around the school complaining about the amount of work they have to do, however, they don’t realize that this work is what leads to their future success. For me complaining is not a valid excuse, as I certainly believe that there should be a deadline for everything because we can manage everything as long as we are determined. A person like me, who receives an assignment, which may be due in the next two weeks will manage their time out and complete it in the next two days, thinking that what if I have more things to do. Throughout all the school years that I have attended, there has not been one assignment that I didn’t complete or didn’t hand it in on time. Where I come from and the teachings of my parents, have taught me that family time and family are two significant parts of your life, which no matter what happens
there should be time for them, even if we have to take time out for it. My daily schedule begins from 5:00AM in which I get dressed, make breakfast for the entire family and then move into doing the house chores. Then, my mom drops me to school at 7 AM where I dedicate 8 hours into education every single day, in which during my lunch periods I go and help teachers out. After that the rest of my entire day is dedicated to family and school assignments. There have been days where I have spent nights studying and preparing for exams. My determination begins from home all the way to the career I pursue. There has not been a single day where I have not kept my schedule organized. Organization is key for me as it develops skills of time management. My time management is outstanding as I have compromised a lot but only for benefits. As you can see, leadership is greatly exemplified in me, as not only do my friends and classmates compliment me about it but even my smallest cousins find me as a great example of what to be like in their future. Times when I am free are dedicated to help the community. Over the summer, I had helped a newly opened insurance agency in organizing. Universal Insurance Brokerage had recently opened over the summer in which I did 42 hours of community service for them. By helping the community, I feel like I help myself because as a MBA in the future I have to manage finances and savings in which I want to improve the quality of life. In conclusion, my personal traits have enhanced the trust of my peers and families as they know my willingness in helping others and my perseverance to make life as perfect as possible. I have walked my entire life out in keeping myself opened minded and as a reliable person who is ready to assist. My skills are an active part of life which not only will benefit me in school, but even in my personal life as I make myself as qualifying as I can. I believe in uplifting my power in order to contribute in all aspects of life in which I like to take all types of experience making me capable to be part of National Honor Society.
I feel that the importance of service is to help a person in need because you could change someone's life, not because you feel that you need to. People who love what they are doing are the people who effect everything around them.Service has impacted my life because it makes me a better person. My family feels the impact, the community feels the impact, even servicing for a few hours a week affects the people around you. It makes the community a better place to live.
It is a tremendous honor to be considered for membership in the most prestigious Honor Society available at Wapato High School. It is even more grand to be able to work towards enrollment in the Society side by side with such an astoundingly gifted group of young men and women. I am only being considered for potential membership in the National Honors Society because I have demonstrated an exemplary academic attitude, and have proven this through the grades I have attained during the years I have spent in the Wapato School District and the fondness amongst my teachers I have achieved. There are also other characteristics besides good scholarship I must fill for membership in the Society, those being services I have done to benefit others in the community, leadership positions I have held, and an original and interesting demonstration of
I wish to take the time to give thanks for this impeccable opportunity in applying for the highly sought after National Honor Society. I have been looking forward to embarking on this journey since I heard about this organization freshman year. I am truly elated to be one of the many students that qualifies, as I know the standards of excellence and character that must be exemplified and met.
Being proud of something can have many different meanings to people, but to me, it means to be honored and to be glad that something happened. I am proud about many things in my life but one thing I am extremely proud of is my induction into the NJHS. NJHS stands for National Junior Honor Society.
Nominees were asked to try and write about one experience, which proves quite difficult and uninteresting. It's much more interesting to discuss the value of the "pillars" of the National Honor Society. One thing defines us in life. One thing that outshines service, leadership, and even scholarship. In fact, without this thing, the other three are irrelevant. Character. Character carries us through our lives. It gives motivation and strength. It gives love and hate. It gives decisions of yes or no. Character is most important to me. It is character that literally defines all of us. Character is more than being kind and polite. If everyone's character could be summed in that way of unkind or kind and polite or impolite the world would not be interesting anymore would it? The world is interesting and so is everyone else, all because of character.
When I think of NHS, leadership, character, community, and role modeling are all things that come to mind. Being a part of the National Honors Society will help me do just that. I have worked hard for outstanding grades, citizenship, and becoming a leader and role model for other classmates. That is why I believe I deserve a spot in the National Honor Society community.
Being a potential candidate of the National Honor Society is a distinction that I greatly honor. I wish to be a member of the prestigious group for the various benefits to myself, my school, and my community. A member of my family was a former member of the National Honor Society; he has mentioned many positive benefits of being a member and how being a member is beneficial to the community. Due to my exemplary qualities of a National Honor Society member, I am qualified to be part of the chapter.
As a student at Northvale Public School, I have grown up with my older siblings being inducted into an organization called the National Junior Honor Society. I had seen all the hard work and dedication they put into their school work and activities just to get into this society, making me want to be just like them. Then a few weeks ago, I found a note on my desk in homeroom telling me that I had been nominated to be apart of this society. Through citizenship and character, leadership, and service, I intend on being inducted into the society I have heard so much about. Though it will take a lot of effort this school year, being a part of this society is a dream of mine that I will make sure to come true.
I am profoundly honored to be among the exceptional people who are being noticed for the National Honor Society. Being considered to join the National Honor Society is an honor in itself. It proves to me that I have accomplished my goals and worked to the best of my ability. In all my years as a student I have always tried to do the my best to get the highest grades. I do not just focus on my academics, I also strive to be a benefit to Stevenson High School. Achieving my goal in becoming a member of the National Honor Society would give me a great sense of honor and joy both academically and personally. As a human being I have aspiration and academic excellence to offer to the National Honors Society. I would be thrilled to join The
It is an extraordinary honor to be considered as a candidate for the National Honor Society. This means I have achieved my goal in demonstrating my determination- in school and outside of school- and my willingness to aid people in my community. Being a part of such a prestigious organization is a huge responsibility in which I will fully devote my time to. Ever since I was a freshman, my goal was to work diligently to be amongst the highest scholars and to be accepted into this scholarly “hall of fame”. Through my immeasurable hardwork and perseverance, I believe that I contain the four characteristics of a National Honor Society member- leadership, service, character, and scholarship.
The four pillars of the prestigious National Honor Society demonstrate the traits I hope to continually develop: as a scholar, a leader, a volunteer and a person of strong moral fiber. I believe myself to be mature and motivated; I have an unyielding commitment to scholarship and intend to make a difference in the lives of everyone around me. The prospect of becoming a member has prompted me to take a look upon what I wish to accomplish as a part of this organization. By becoming an active participant, my goal is to enrich my school experience by means of volunteering in the community, serving as a role model for my peers, and fostering pride for our school.
It is with great honor to be considered among the students of my class to be a part of the National Honor Society. the National Honor Society (NHS) has been an organization that has displayed great interest to me, with new leadership skills and responsibilities to take upon. I believe that I hold the leadership skills, service, character, and academic excellence that is required to become a member of the National Honor Society.
Being inducted into the National Honors Society is what I have been waiting for. Becoming a member is nothing more than a dream come true, and I appreciate it greatly. If I am to be chosen as a member I know that I will be a positive and dependable participant in society activities. Due to my abilities and past experiences, I can be considered a valuable candidate because I demonstrate the qualities of leadership, service, and character. I do feel that if I am chosen, I will do nothing detract from the prestige and respectability that is associated with the society.
As a student in Greater Lawrence Technical school my ultimate goal was to become a member of National Honors Society. From the very start I knew I had the potential to become who I wanted to be. Being seen as a person who can be National honors society member has made me so happy and realize I can really go for more in life! They sky's the limit. I always had honor roll and wanted to push myself for more than what I knew I could do. I asked teachers and guidance counselors how to get into NHS and if they believed I was eligible for National Honor Society. They said with your outstanding character, motivation and dedication to help others is how!
In my experience it may seem that no matter how hard I may try to balance school, work, and family something always suffers. I simply try to remind myself that if I work hard and try to maximize my time that I should be able to accomplish all I need to do. Even if I am not successful in doing so at least I know that I tried my best to balance everything thing out. In my opinion people need to give one hundred percent of effort or else they will not be
