The principal at my school has just recently said that he is going to make it mandatory for all students to participate in an in school extracurricular activity. According to www.publicagenda.org, "Nearly 79% of Americans in middle and high school participate in at least one extracurricular activity." Extracurricular activities would help many students' benefit in and out of school. I strongly agree with the decision that the principal made in his mandate, regarding mandatory participation from students in at least one extracurricular activity.
Extracurricular activities should be mandatory because the students will learn social skills. During the activities the students will learn how to make friends and gain friends too. From personal experience I know that being involved in my school activities I have gained many friendships that hopefully last all throughout high school and life. I am involved in my school's art club, and I have made many friends just from that activity alone. When doing these activities, especially with friends, the children will make a tremendous amount of memories that they will have forever. Students will also learn

The students learn how to prioritize their events, homework, and any other activities that they might have. When doing these activities the students get a schedule they have to stick to. This will help them when they go through college, get jobs, and have families. Sticking to a schedule makes events stay in order and students know how to get to certain things on time and not be late. Sticking to a schedule, especially in school, will help the students complete their homework and projects on time. When the students have activities they then decide what is and what is not important to them. For example, hanging out with friends versus doing their homework. Time management is why extracurricular activities are
Todays students are busier than they have ever been in American history. Homework is a large contributor to this. The average student in America has approximately four hours of homework each night. If students start homework right when they get home from school, that gives them free time starting at 7:00 PM. The majority of students also have jobs. So. between school, work, homework, and practice, that leaves them virtually no time to be able to hang out with friends or to participate in family activities.
Predictability creates stability. When things get overwhelming or confusing, a routine becomes an anchor. They also help instill self-esteem. As children become more familiar with a schedule, the more comfortable they will be in completing tasks and this confidence will help them handle any new challenges.
To help students want to go to school all year long, they can get involved in different activities they enjoy. For example, if a student likes to play sports, then the school should let that student join a sports team. I think letting students join programs and do different activi...
Happiness or Intelligence? When it comes picking intelligence and happiness, a person might not be able to have both in life. In the short story “Flowers For Algernon” written by Daniel Keyes, Charlie Gordon has a disability which entails of him not being like everybody else. Reading and writing do not come easy to him, and is not aware of a lot of things.
The second reason to support my position is that forced participation will create overcrowded teams. A single school can only hold so many students, if everyone was required to join a sport, the teams
These kind of activities show that the student has great leadership and social skills aside from the amazing academic skills. Being involved in something beyond the learning realm can propel students to be the best in college. Not only does it propel the student but it can help them have a higher acceptance rate at almost every college. Not only are extra activities important to colleges but so is the intellectual that is made through reading, writing, and critical thinking. Exploring the intellectual and being interested is very important to colleges.
Kids often go from the moment they wake up to the moment they fall asleep. Extracurricular activities could be many things such as dance, cheer, music lessons, singing lessons, etc. Many kids these days sit at home doing nothing with their lives so a principal at a school made it mandatory for their students to all be included in an extracurricular activity after school for another two hours. Although, many people agree with the fact that it is good for kids to have extra activities at school to develop a hobby or life skills they also can seriously affect their childhood. There are many reasons why your kid shouldn't be in extracurricular activities at school such as, participating in sports, work on the yearbook, and serve on the student council.
activities are a crucial part of school because it shows you are involved into making your school

While most evidence in the literature proves that extra curricular activities improve academic performances, Solanco School District has no program supporting or promoting the link between the two. This study will examine the effects of participation in extra curricular activities on student academic performance at Solanco High School. Findings from this study could be examined by Solanco High School and similar school districts to support and promote programs of extra curricular activities at...
With a predictable schedule the students will know what to expect during the school day and will not repeatedly ask you what to do next. From the start to the end of each day, children benefit from flexible routines. As the children begin arriving in the classroom in the morning, they need to know exactly what to do in the classroom by establishing routines, they can move smoothly transition through morning routines. These routines will provide children with a sense of security and knowledge of what
All students have to take at least one mandatory extracurricular activity. Students could be greatly benefited by that in more ways than one. Some studies show that the average American teenager spends 75%-90% of their time using a cell phone or some other electronic device than spending time with actual human beings. A large number of parents would probably agree to that as well. American teenagers are able to interact behind their phones; however, they aren't building effective face-to-face relationships.
Two-thirds of children who participate in extracurricular activities are expected to attain at least a bachelor’s degree, whereas only half of children that do not participate do (National Center for Education Statistics, 1995). Childhood is a very important time in our lives, a time when we develop many vital skills that follow us into adulthood. Some people laugh or scoff at us parents that keep our children to busy schedules. Those same people would also argue that our children should be allowed to have a childhood, to not be so tightly scheduled in their daily lives. Before jumping on that bandwagon, I would suggest doing a little research. Participating in after-school activities has shown to benefit children in many ways. Children should
Imagine walking across the stage in just a few years from now. Having thousands of eyes pointed at you as you take that emotional walk to finally receive your high school diploma. After a few years when you have graduated high school and started life, you're going to look back and think, what have I accomplished so far? Extracurricular activities can be very beneficial for students now, and those in the future as well. They can allow you to feel like you have accomplished something while in school. Extracurricular activities are important because they can benefit a student through personal, educational, and even social means. It is a great idea to get more students involved in extracurricular activities and parents should begin to give their kids a little push to get them more involved.
Extra-curricular activities can play a significant role in young people’s lives. With future employment being contingent upon their skills, extra-curricular activities can be used to enhance commonly sought-after skills such as excellent communication and the ability to work in a team. Therefore, those who partake in such clubs may have an advantage in seeking employment compared to their peer-counterparts. Developing these skills at primary school ages can prevent students from struggling with their ability to build social relationships at a later age. Students can explore a range of activities some of which they may not have previously considered. On the other hand, the nature of extra-curricular clubs could result in pupils facing difficulties in balancing their schoolwork with additional clubs. As a result, students might spend less time with their family.
