About 2,400 of students attend Moreno Valley High School. About According to the Article,of those students get free or reduced lunch . Students get a variety of food to choose from. For breakfast students get to choose either a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, cereal, corn dog, pizza, or sweet bread with a side of a fruit or vegetable and milk or juice. For lunch students get to to pick from chicken sandwiches, chicken nuggets and tenders, burritos , pizza, “Chinese” food, yogurt and salad ; also, with a side of fruit or vegetable and milk or juice . But does having a variety of food really matter when it's all very unhealthy and processed ?

According to the article “ The Effects of Children Eating Unhealthy School Lunches” by Calypso Schuna, unhealthy lunches that are filled with preservatives cause students to get lower test scores on test and have a harder time focusing in class and getting school work done. According to the Article,”Toxic Brain, How Chemicals Affect your Brain” by Michelle Tolle, chemically full food causes many mental disorders, like dyslexia and ADHD, and even autism. Toole also states that rats and mice raised eating chemically processed food have a hard time finding their way around a maze;also, the rodents took “longer to remember solutions to problems they had already solved.” The author also states that the effect of food on our brains is so powerful that eating certain food can affect a person’s mood.Eating unhealthy foods is so serious, not only does it cause a lot of physical harm to the body and health but it also takes a major toll on the brain. Well the school can consider getting fresh fruits,vegetables,meat and chicken free of preservatives deliver by local farms. A local farm for example, is in the city Perris .According to the Article “Cafeteria Confidential: Best School Lunch Delivery Services” by Erin Feher, Revolutionary Foods, a nationwide company that partners up schools with local farms, says it only cost about 3 to 7 dollars per organic meal.
