Introduction:
With the current course that I am studying I will be developing a lot of personal and transferable skills, and this will be very important for my future ambitions and career as by putting my transferable skills to practice at college I will stand in a stronger position when I work towards my future goals and ambitions once I have completed this course.
To match my transferable skills that I am learning at Barnet and Southgate College, I have used the UK’s National Careers Service Website (2012), that list the following transferable skills;

Problem solving is a really important transferable skill and problem solving skills are things, such as making important decisions at important times when at work related situations at work or in education.

One of the ways of how I am learning organisational skills is by having to bring in equipment for my lessons such as the books and resources that I need and this is similar to using organisational skills at work as I will need all relevant paperwork and additional equipment that I need.

Transferable skills are building skills that help with various stages of life and career exploration. Some of these skills are time management, computer literacy, writing skills, and listening. These skills are important for my career choice of becoming a registered nurse.
I need to be able to write out the results in a way everyone can understand exactly what I found. I am able to write out important information very clearly. I need to be able to active listen. I have to give my full attention to what people are saying and take time to understand what is being said but also ask questions at appropriate times. Listening and giving my full attention to someone talking is a skill that I have but asking questions is something I need to work on. Critical thinking is a skill that I have to have. Using logic and reasoning to know the best option to help someone is important. I do think critically by trying to find the best way to do anything. Problem solving is important. I need the ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong and try to fix it. Inductive reasoning is the ability to take pieces of information and but all of the pieces together to make a conclusion. I need to have deductive reasoning. As I have noted, I truly believe that the numerous job skills that are needed to be successful include dedication, communication, and adaptation. First of all, you must be devoted to your career if you want exemplary results. Last but not least, in order to be successful in your employment, you must be flexible to the obstacles that are inevitable.
