The organizations and agencies devoted to public health at these different levels share many of the same functions including disease surveillance, policy development, and provision of access to health care. They do this by providing a common core of services that generally includes immunizations for adults and children, tuberculosis screening/treatment, community nutrition services, community assessment/outreach/education, food safety inspections, and health education. These characteristics will create a positive workplace environment that results in an increase in productivity. Leadership is not defined by titles or salary. ... that train and educate people about certain diseases. Through education, citizens will know how to respond on special scenario, such as in the case of being infected with Typhoid fever, even without the immediate assistance from healthcare representatives. Likewise, people will know the signs of Typhoid fever which will help them know the important steps to avoid the worsening of their conditions. Further, the availability of emergency health providers will help in preventing the worsening of health conditions if in any case, contamination has already occurred. Also, the local government agencies that monitor the water lines are a big help in preventing bioterrorism on water supplies. If these agencies will miss cleaning the pipelines or the water itself, there’s a big chance for bioterrorism to take place. Thus, local agencies should be consistent with their jobs.
Why now? Why are we focusing on transformational leadership? Healthcare costs are continuing to rise. Some of the critical problems and active debates prevalent in many hospital organizations include the rapidly intensifying healthcare costs, funding and reimbursement cutbacks, and concern regarding the overall quality and safety of health care. “Healthcare systems have come under pressure to improve performance and manage productivity” (Botting, 2011). To be successful in the 21st century, there is a demand on healthcare systems to have a vision and executive and clinical leadership to inspire the change process and make the difference between success and failure in change.

The structural component of France’s healthcare policy and regulatory affairs represents a decentralized flow and administered at the regional, local, and municipality levels. Nationally, parliament reviews provisions regarding revenue, benefits and regulations and directs its initiatives to the Ministry of Health. This is proceeded to the National Council for Governance of Regional Health Agencies, which then disperses to various agencies at the regional level. Similar to the United States’ flow of power throughout government and its many agencies that track policy and directives, a myriad of agencies exist to allow transparency in health policy amongst the national and regional levels of France.
Molecular and Microbiology. Many people hear the major and shudder; thoughts of sleepless nights, studying for courses unintelligible by the ‘average’ person, mad scientists hunched over test tubes and doctors doing open heart surgery. Research science and medicine, that’s what my major is geared towards, and I’m pursuing the medicine side of it all. Maybe I’ll be that open heart surgeon that comes to mind, or maybe just a family practitioner, either way, I want more than anything to be a doctor, a great doctor, and while my M&M degree is the first step in making that happen, I’d have to say that being a Lead Scholar is the second. Many people may not see the medical profession as one that requires being a leader to others, as you make your own decisions and people feel that you work on your own. You consult patients, help them with their problems, you work on each one on your own. If there is any involvement with any other health professional, people think it’s more like a team, with little to no individual leadership. They’re wrong, and right. Being a doctor is being a part of a team, and being a part of a team¬ does take personal leadership.

Since the end of World War II, citizens have demanded far more services from their government. These demands have led to the creation of more administrative agencies, a larger number of civil servants, and higher government spending. Dwight Waldo coined the phrase “administrative state” to describe this need for expanded government services. Many of these agencies were developed to tackle some of the societies largest problems that the private-business world could not. However, due to budget cuts, limited staff members, and inexperienced leadership, organizations often times find themselves unable to find the magic bullet to solve the major problems. With limited resources, the local governments need to shift their focus towards the co-production of a number of its services.
Working in Public Health leader had and continue to be one of my lifelong dreams. Seeing myself as a leader was not part of the dream since my concept of leaderships was totally different from what I am now knowledgeable. My previous interpretation of leadership was someone who intelligent and has the ability to controls everything. For example, the decision making within the organization without seeking the opinion of others. Upon exploration of this module, I came across various definitions of leaders and managers. To reiterate these six components, which are innovation, technical package, communication, management, and political commitment – the community is hand in hand associated with core functions of Public Health. In Public Health the three main core functions are assessment, policy development, and assurance. Assessment is a tool that helps monitors different health and environmental statutes to create, deploy, and identify solutions. It also used a diagnostic tool to investigate health-related problems and different health hazards. Policy development is an act of informing and educating those developed ideas and topics that help the communities and different organizations in their health care efforts. Lastly, assurance utilizes different laws and regulations to help in the aid of protecting the public or environment at risk. It also re-evaluates the laws and regulations to see its effectiveness and its quality (Schneider,
Previous literature has sought to understand the phenomenon of leadership in public administration. Research has found significant and interesting evidence contributing to the characteristics thought to be most useful in the field (Javidan and Waldman 2003), while other research focuses on leadership in the public sector of administration (Wart 2003). However, perhaps the most compelling argument surrounding leadership in administration focuses more on the structure administrators serve within (Huxham and Vangen 2000).
“Public administration is the management of affairs of the government at all levels-national, state, and local. It is the branch of the wide field of administration” (Basu, 2004 p. 3). In managerial functions public administration plays an integral position in managing projects that focus on strategic development, public policies,
