First off, I would like to say that my overall experience of attending Bethel University has been fantastic. Being a student at Bethel University has been challenging and rewarding. I think the aspect I enjoyed about Bethel the most is the spiritual grounding of the school. The Bethel University promote religion as well as offer a Theologian degree. Without a stable religious background, people lose focus on the things in life that matter the most. Bethel University provides the civilian and spiritual learning that students need to help them to become well round in both walks of life. I love the fact that the school chaplain sends out encouraging spirit messages to the students each day. The Bethel University College cares about your spiritual
advancement as much as your private education. The aspect of the Bethel University I disliked the most is the fact that it takes some of the facilitators to long to post the grades and comments on the things that need to be improved. For instance, if I submitted my work for unit one and I do not receive my score or improvement comments until the next unit two is almost over, the comments do not help much. Most of the facilitators post your grades promptly, so there is no issue with correcting your errors for the upcoming assignments. For the most part, Bethel University is a great college, and I would definitely recommend anyone that may be thinking about going to college to try Bethel first. The staff is committed to your success and will assist you in every way possible to see you succeeded and help you graduate.
...cannot be broken, knowledge that cannot be taken away, and opportunities that students never knew were available. It is an honor to receive top notch education and even more of an honor to receive it from an HBCU. Legacies are made at HBCUs and parents are made proud when their child becomes alumni of the same college that they once attended. Parents want to know that their child is receiving the one on one attention from the professors and they want their child to feel the same love away from home that they feel at home. A loving and caring support system is what one will find at an HBCU and parents can feel secure in knowing their child is getting exactly what they paid for. Attending an HBCU is an experience like no other and an experience that every African American should have the opportunity to experience. If given the opportunity, why not attend an HBCU?
St. Mary is a better fit for me socially. At my old school many of my fellow classmates did not treat people with respect. Not many students seemed to truly care about the well being of their peers. Whereas at St. Mary, it feels like more of a community. We all look out for each other and try to help out one another. At St. Mary we have the Peacekeeper awards. These awards are given to one student from each homeroom every month. The award is
...sented themselves such as: lack of financial support, low graduation rates, and a non-existence of diversification. However, these issues can be changed by an increase in support from different places which would add to the existing importance of HBCU’S. People are inspired by the Institutions because they work hard to overcome obstacles placed in their way. Students, Alumni’s, and Parents see the motivation and determination of the schools to stay ongoing and I see it as well.
The strengths and weaknesses of Skagit Valley College differ from which campus you attend. The particular strengths and disadvantages can range from: students able to retake their Compass Test, high school students can attend free, Skagit prepares students for four year colleges; but my campus does not have many classes, its first come/first serve, and it’s a small school that doesn’t have many programs. My campus has criminal justice classes, but not a criminal justice program. The class points you in the right direction but doesn’t help you in real life situations. There could be possible solutions for these weaknesses.
My initial focus was on finding a school with course offerings that are in line with my learning objectives. Fisher definitely delivered in that department with majors in leadership and organizational behavior, as well as strategy. I was also pleasantly surprised to see a major in operations and logistics, which isn’t my primary interest, but offers numerous appealing courses that would make me a more effective and holistic Leader. General George S. Patton once said that “the officer who doesn’t know his communications and supply as well as his tactics is totally
Only two months ago, I moved into room 426 of Trinity Hall and began my journey at Azusa Pacific University. I still remember how nervous and excited I felt when I arrived. Everyone was incredibly kind and overjoyed to have the freshmen move in. Beneath all the exhilaration, I had three big fears that felt like heavy weight on my chest. Because I did not grow up from a Christian family, I feared that I would not fit in with everyone else. I was also intimidated by how extroverted everyone was. I was introverted, so it required extra effort for me to make new friends. Another one of my fears was nursing school since the nursing program is known for its heavy load of work and commitment. Through experimentation, communication, and hard work,
1 - Hello classmates, I am a thirty eight year old that decided to go to college later in life, but I do not have any regrets with that decision. I know I am more focused today than I would have been right out of high school. I really enjoy running and working out; it keeps me sane. I have been married with no children for fourteen years and have a one year old German shepherd. I work a ton of hours with my job - that is why this program with Bethel is great for me. I am an area sales manager for an AT&T authorized retailer. I have been in my position for eight years and been in this industry for twelve years. I look forward to learning more about other religious beliefs that people feel as deeply about as I do with my own beliefs.
But my brother and i agreed to check it out to see if we liked it. When we were done with the worship we went downstairs and and found a small breakfast area. With all kinds of doughnuts, kolaches and they have hot chocolate in the winter. After breakfast my parents showed my brother and i where our classes were. Which i wasn't thrilled about because at gateway it was only an hour and at the hills it was one and a half hours plus a class. But i actually surprisingly liked it Because i found a lot of old friends and made some new ones too. We had a great time, the student minister was awesome because he very funny and remembered my name! The best part is the size of the church because i see my friends every day and it feels like a big family. Also i like that the small groups were very small and you don't have to talk in front of a lot of people. After church we went out to eat lunch with some church friends to talk and hang out. When we got home our parents asked us if we liked it and wanted to switch or if we wanted to stay at gateway. My brother and i went over the pros and cons of switching and we decided we wanted to switch to the hills. My parents also agreed and after a week of going, we
Did you know that The University of West Alabama was recently named the safest university in the state of Alabama? Since its founding in 1835, UWA has underwent 10 name changes, including its most recent and most controversial in 1995, from Livingston University to The University of West Alabama. Despite the many name changes and facelifts that UWA has seen over the years, one thing has always stayed the same: its purpose. The University of West Alabama offers the best option to prospective students for a public four-year institution in Alabama.
In Freeman Hrabowskis 2013 article, “College Prepares People for Life” in The Baltimore Sun, he discusses how nowadays college students have a lack of the definition of what it means to be educated and that students need to find a better fit for the school they would like to attend. Hrabowski suggests that colleges redefine education and that they be more transparent with what they offer so that students are fully aware of the available resources that shall set them up for their career goals. Hrabowski suggests that in order to be educated we must “contribute to the public good.” (260) What he means by this is that we must be worldly human beings and take as much experience as we can get. Furthermore, Hrabowski proposes, “call on higher
I am enrolled at UC Blue Ash and my experiences and relationships to the courses that I will be writing about will reflect the Blue Ash campus. I like the UC Clermont College and am fortunate to take the summer courses here but since I live in Indiana it is just too far to drive here. I was very fortunate to be able to take most of the courses at the Blue Ash campus.
When I came into Boston College, right away the expectations I held for myself very much focused on school. For the last two years, I went to a preparatory boarding school where I faced a multitude of challenges, socially but most importantly I struggled with academics. What I learned that very first week when I moved in junior year, was that public school and private school are immensely different. My class sizes, my teachers, the expectations, the rules, study habits, they were all so new. I jumped into a routine fairly smoothly, which helped my anxiety of getting adjusted to my life at school. However, after a month or so, I noticed the habits I brought from public school were not working in my new environment. Time management and procrastination
The chose this school mainly because of the program of study I was interested in which is human services. I also chose SEU as my future college because of the Christian influence and what they believe in. The many things to do on and off campus also caught my attention personally because of my character which like to have fun while working at what I believe in.
I came back to the Lutheran Seminary in 2012 after a having a conversation with man that would later become a mentor to me. At his prompting along with many others I made a decision to enter into the ordination process of the ELCA. For me that brought mass levels of trepidation as I had heard horror stories of that process. It became another entity in my life where value becomes evident by participation. I knew the work that would be required and I decided to make that plunge.
on. I love to learn and am looking forward to furthering my education with Bethel
