• How do you feel you performed on the Portfolio Project in leveraging your knowledge and skills gained throughout this course? I feel that I showed more about my knowledge and skills gained when I took to the recommendation of my classmates on my introduction paragraph. During the Peer review, I was able to revise and submit my response. I felt more confident about what I was writing to express my points and why it was important to also refer to the “looking-glass” theory. It was important to me how my peers understood and review the Portfolio Project because my peers that were also going through the same process in trying to succeed in the course with the goal of reaching their career goals as well. • How will you incorporate and use this project in your portfolio and in talking with potential employers? The outline was extremely beneficial for me to see what points I wanted to address and I feel that this will help me to be able to talk with potential employees. I will use the points that are important to me, the company and the position I am applying to showcase my skills. I ...
I realize how important research and the creation of multiple comprehensives for a project this big. Through those comprehensives I was able to generate new ideas that would later unify the collateral. In terms of success I think I became more proficient with the production side of the project. It think I could have worked more on the project itself and create a better meaning behind it. I feel that with the collateral I was more focused how to get people interested an dhow to grab their attention. On the other this project also showed me how important time management is. I learned that when I have creative blocks on one of the projects I could jump on the other and work on that. This helped me in getting all the work done and also helped me in generating new ideas for the
Furthermore, my presentation has allowed me to self-evaluate myself and has helped me understand my strengths and

In this portfolio reflection essay I will be addressing the five essays I have written for my English 101 class. Along with addressing the five essays I have wrote I also will be stating my strengths and weaknesses of those essays. The five essays this portfolio will include is a diagnostic essay, revised narrative essay, profile essay, evaluation essay, and arguing a position essay. Those five essays I have written over the course of this semester have been very helpful towards my writing skills. Punctuating, staying on topic, my introductions, and conclusions are areas I struggle with when writing papers, but by writing those five papers during this semester has helped me improve on those areas.
I have furthered my knowledge about what my strengths are in writing and why they are, by taking this course. I know now that my strengths as a writer are descriptive and creative writing because the papers that required a lot of that were the easiest papers I had written. My descriptive narrative paper was my strongest since I was able to use my creative skills and I also knew more about the subject. I would be able to strengthen my descriptive and creative
Project management is a discipline based on careful planning, organization, motivation and control of resources to achieve specific goals and meet specific success criteria. Since every project is unique in nature, a project manager must learn to adapt and identify key areas to drive success. Thus, as a learning initiative, we were given a project to manage through a simulation program named Sim4Project. The emphasis of this simulation was on learning-by-doing, just like in a real-life project. Sim4Project provided a good mix of theoretical knowledge as well as hands-on experience. Professor Leonie gave feedbacks at the end of each period to ensure we were incorporating the project management principles learned in the classroom.
In a team-oriented setting, everyone contributes to how well the group succeeds overall. You work with fellow members of the group to complete the work that needs to be done. Having the right people in the correct roles is an important factor in measuring the success of a team, where you are united with the other members to complete the main goals. Every group is made up of definite strengths and weaknesses. Our team's 3-5 major strengths necessary to work accordingly consist of Informer, Summarizer, Orienter, Piggy-Backer, and Encourager. One of our strengths as a team is that we get input from everyone involved. Every member of our team is a leader in some way. Part of being a good leader is knowing how important it is to receive the best ideas from each member of their team. We attend group meetings where we discuss any challenges, issues, and problems. At these meetings, we often exchange ideas or brainstorm new ones with each other and come up with the best and most creative team solutions as potential answers to those perceived problems.
Operation mangers should also have the same skills as functional manager but they are responsible in managing day to day operations and they should also possess the authority to hire and fire employees.
Project managers have to improve their skills every day to deal with the organizational change and especially the world’s Megatrends. However, it can be a challenge for a project manager to comprehend what skills they should be improved, what sections of project management knowledge that should be tried to perceive, and how to measure and enhance their performance.
In the end, my team and I got an A- for our presentation and paper. I believe that this project was completely successful and although there were some difficult times throughout the process, I am proud to say that we all stayed committed to the project. I feel that this was my most significant leadership experience because I used everything I learned through my experience in business organizations to make this project come to life. I felt that I showed the qualities of a good leader because I was determined, motivated, worked well with the team, delegated tasks to the team effectively, and communicated with the team to make this project
Presentations were another key component to this class. We were asked to sign up and present problems that we had solved successfully and could share with the class. I liked how this was set up. It gave students an opportunity to share what they had discovered, which could be a different way than you had done the problem. By letting ...
“Assessment is the process of identifying, gathering and interpreting information about students’ learning. The central purpose of assessment is to provide information on student achievement and progress and set the direction for ongoing teaching and learning” (NSW Department of Education and Training, 2007, p.1). I believe an assessment strategy which best encapsulates this understanding of assessment is the portfolio. Specifically, a process portfolio provides a wealth of information about a student’s progress in literacy and not only allows a teacher to assess the learning that has taken place but also helps them to identify the areas in need of improvement. Additionally, the crucial element of the student’s self-assessment and self-reflection in the process of creating the portfolio also allows both the teacher and the student to understand the progress, strengths and weaknesses of their writing.
This was a long-term design project, and everything was fresh to me. Patience was the crucial and essential factor that was needed in such a long project in my view. Fortunately, I learned and gained the patience. Besides, communication was another extremely significant factor. It was essential to communicate and discuss with the pathway tutors and the course mates regularly, for the information of the tutor was the most useful advice in the process of major project. Overall, I achieved these two important factors which also could be described as strengths.
Throughout this term, my fellow classmates and I have had a chance to participate in a group project with two or three of our peers. The general topic was a vivid problem in a industry. Our class had a very wide and diverse sets of topics: from Styrofoam, to industrial hacking, to corruption in an influential international organization like FIFA, and so many more. Our group decided to develop a project named “Outsourcing and the price we pay for brands”. The name itselves is somewhat self-explanatory, however the problem is so much more complicated and interesting. In this paper, many struggles and concerns, of the group and of my my own, will be unfolded as I reflect the progress of this project.
The thought of community service was a bore to me before I began my volunteer work. I dreaded starting my community service although I knew I had to do it. Where I earned my hours did not even matter to me. I just wanted to get it over with. To my surprise it was not what I expected. Community service was not a painful experience; it was a very enjoyable and beneficial experience.
