1. Introduction Project managers have to improve their skills every day to deal with the organizational change and especially the world’s Megatrends. However, it can be a challenge for a project manager to comprehend what skills they should be improved, what sections of project management knowledge that should be tried to perceive, and how to measure and enhance their performance.
Developing a PDP is a major method to allow individuals to understand and reflect their own performance and accomplishment and to create a plan for their personal training and career development (Personal development planning, 2009. There are four foundation subjects which I have obtained in the first semester, providing for me a primary academic knowledge and experience through workshops, teamwork, assignments and experiential conversation. Moreover, I tried to read academic books about construction project management skills, especially cases study in the construction field that allowed to have an awareness about what usually happen and their outcome in reality. In addition, I got a part-time job in construction site which helped me to get an understanding about construction field in Australia and learn how to manage a construction project from my boss.
2.2 Fostering my experience, practice and skills in management and leadership. I have used tools and techniques that I studied in last previous semester to apply it in projects, which I done before to practice and improve for myself. On the other hand, I got management and leadership knowledge and helpful information by reading useful resource such as: Harvard Business Review, Forbes magazine and so on. In addition, I also obtain my awareness about management and leadership in constructions projects by talking and debating with my father, who has worked like a contractor in construction field in 20 years. His comment always helps me to achieve a deep understanding about usual problems in construction projects in reality and how to motivate and empower to staff, especially, how to build a relationship between employee and employer, and between manager and
