I am the ideal candidate to receive this scholarship due to the fact that I believe that effort will never betray you. Including myself, three out of the four people in my household are attending college, making the cost of tuition much steeper than expected. Nevertheless, I am determined to overcome the challenges ahead of me to earn my degree. This scholarship would be a huge help for me in finishing my education and achieving my goals.
In pursuing higher education, I am paving a new path for my family. My grandfather was forced to discontinue his schooling at the age of seven so that he could work to support his family, leaving him illiterate for the rest of his life. Wanting better for his children, my grandfather pushed the importance of getting an education on his grandchildren, motivating me to earn my degree. . Not only will this scholarship help me attend college, but it is a huge step towards building my career and creating a new life for my family.

While I am motivated to enhance my abilities, growing up in a rural community hasn’t allowed me the same opportunities for hands on experience in my desired career field as well as financial aid than students living around an urban community have had. Additionally, with my father returning to college at age 44 to earn his degree, my parents are unable to provide financial aid towards my education. If I am unable to pay the expense of tuition, I will be unable to honor my grandfather by earning a college degree and achieve my goal of becoming a wedding
Over all, I believe I embody the type of person this foundation is trying to help through this scholarship. This scholarship would mean the world to me and my family, it would help me achieve all my goals and dreams. I am confident that I am a Strong Candidate for the HSF Scholarship, and I believe I am very well rounded in all aspects of the requirements. Thank you for conserving my
I would benefit from this scholarship because not only would it help with the cost of my tuition, but the support will also help lessen my worries about my finances. This scholarship will help my parents as well since they are helping me with my college education. During the past two months and currently, my dad has been in the hospital due to having pancreatitis. In August when he was introduced with it, he went into septic shock and that day he had coded seven times. It is a miracle that he is with my family still, and with the support of this scholarship, it would help out a lot due to the medical bills that my family has. As in the past, I will work
I know that through my hard work and dedication I can make my goals a reality. However, it may not be possible without these Scholarships. While my parents will help me in any way they can, I am hoping that my hard work and dedication to my studies pays off. I am a very self-driven individual who will accomplish any goal I set my mind on achieving. I am also aware of how without scholarships I may face a financial setback. I am hoping that through the help of scholarships I will be able to achieve all my goals in a timely
In a world where most college freshmen do not graduate or dropout, i feel like it would mean to much more to me to graduate and be able to say I got my degree. studies have said that half of freshman will not complete there degree, another study said that 25% of freshmen will change their major before they finish their sophomore year. If i was given this scholarship money it would put me in a place where hopefully I won't become just another statistic. Another reason a college degree is important for me to achieve is so that i will be respected in my work industry of choice. When you are in a place of work, there is always someone who everyone looks up to because they know the most about certain things, but more often than not that person has the highest degree in his or her field. If I was awarded this scholarship i would be more capable of being that person because i would not have to worry about leaving school to figure out how I will pay off my
Getting this scholarship was my jump start to furthering my education and I knew from there that I was going to prove statistics wrong. I knew I was going to college and that things were going to be different for me and I was going to make a difference. I won’t be the black kid who drops out of school, because my education is too important to
“I urge you to continue working hard to prepare for success and to become leaders in our community.” Frederica S. Wilson, a Member of Congress, wrote this in a letter given to me and a few other students after we attended the 5000 Role Models trip to the nation’s capital in 2017. I took this heart and have been preparing for success ever since then. I should be selected for this prestigious scholarship because I would use it to try to be as successful as possible. This scholarship will allow me to pay for college without the fear that comes with taking out loans and will enable me to become part of the first generation in my family’s history to go to college! I will be working towards a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and receiving
I need this scholarship to achieve my goals and most importantly to make my family proud. My family did not get this chance that you are giving me so I am not just doing this for me, I am also doing this for them. I already have all the support from all of my family and all of my friends, but that alone is not enough to conquer my dreams, and to prove all the people that have doubted me that they were wrong. I hope that this organization can help me reach my goals, and to most importantly make them become a reality. I want to look back onto my life and know that this scholarship, and college helped me to be the man I will be. I hope you accept me into your college and most importantly giving me this
I feel I am a great candidate for this award. I without any doubt will follow through and achieve the goals I not only set for myself but also the goals and responsibilities of being chosen to receive such an honor. I have a passion for learning and a strong focus on my education. I have no distractions to disrupt my growth in this journey. I want to succeed and give back to those along the way, this scholarship and any other will give me the missing piece that I need to continue on my path.
Without college it would be impossible for me to become a pediatric nurse, so this scholarship would make a big difference in my life and help me change not only my community but also other communities. Since many people are in my situation in my community and are lost as to how to get into a college, and which college is the perfect college for them I can help them by telling them that the University of North Carolina at Greensboro helped me. With me spreading the word about UNCG being apart of my life and helping make it possible, a lot of people around me and younger than me will want to go also because they will want to be successful in life as the get older too. With all of the opportunities you offer at UNCG including studying abroad I believe I will grow into a very strong and smart adult attending this school. I brought up studying abroad because this is a great example of me having to learn how to be mature and be on my own so it will take a lot of growing for me to do
...rther our education. As next year approaches, I worry that the financial load will only get heavier as my brother and I start college. I believe that with this scholarship I will have the ability to study freely without financial restraints holding me back.
Dreaming. Pursuing. Enjoying. These are all words describing what I envision my life to be in the present and future. I can dream of my future today, then I can pursue my goals and ambitions tomorrow.
I cannot even begin to express how truly grateful I am to receive this scholarship. It has taken me far too long to muster up the courage and strength to finally pursue my lifelong goal of obtaining my college degree. Although I had always done well in school as a kid, my childhood was a bumpy road, and going on to college after high school was never discussed at home, let alone the importance of a college degree. Once I graduated from high school, I did what I felt was expected of me, I moved out, got married and started a family of my own. It did not take me long to realize how difficult it was to support a family on meager wages. It took a toll on my marriage and I soon found myself a divorced, single mother. Even though I had a good, steady
Unfortunately, I will not be able to receive financial assistance from my parents because of low family income. My father is the only employee in the home with a salary of approximately $23,000 yearly. Therefore , I face an overwhelming need for financial assistance in order to attend college. I am very excited about my future and feel that with the opportunity your scholarship will provide, I will be able to help many patients in the health
I believe I deserve to be selected for this scholarship, because I'm a hard student. I commit myself to take advantage of the opportunity that the scholarship will provide for me. I am a student not only works hard academically, but I try to improve my community by doing volunteer work. Education is the key to success and I connect my desire for education by helping my peers. As a result, I take part of the Dual Enroll Program at Clark Atlanta University, which provides high school students college credits before entering college.
In order to understand the tremendous impact this scholarship would have on my education, one must know a little background on where I come from. When I was 3 years old, my parents left their pasts in Bolivia and sacrificed everything to come to America, the land of opportunity, so that I can have a successful future. As a kid, I witnessed the hardships my parents went through to provide a roof to live under and food on the table every day. Some people may call me lucky to have the privilege of growing up in the 2nd richest county in America with such a great education system but, they have no idea the sacrifices and hard work my parents had to endure to get me where I am today. Therefore,
