College is said to be the gateway to a successful career, and I think no different. One of the main reasons I want a college education is so when I approach an employer they see me and think success. Studies have shown that when you have a college degree you are more likely to make an average 20 thousand more a year. If I was awarded this scholarship money it would completely change things for me; I say this because my family has struggled financially and with this I would be saved from crippling debt in years to come. Another reason a college degree is important to me is because I am striving for financial success so that I do not have to struggle like my parents have. In life money is what makes the world go round, and with a college degree I would be placed in a position where I would be able to achieve a level of financial security that would support myself, and hopefully a …show more content…
future family. It seems like nowadays that all people want is money, I however am different, I want to use money that I earn through working to help the world and leave it a better place than I found it, so hopefully people won't have to struggle like my family has. If this scholarship was given to me it would not only launch me forward into a better financial situation in college but put me in a better place so i can succeed to my goals in helping not only my family, but the world as a whole. Success is a thing that I have strived for all my life, and a college degree would only help me feel like I have achieved something big.
In a world where most college freshmen do not graduate or dropout, i feel like it would mean to much more to me to graduate and be able to say I got my degree. studies have said that half of freshman will not complete there degree, another study said that 25% of freshmen will change their major before they finish their sophomore year. If i was given this scholarship money it would put me in a place where hopefully I won't become just another statistic. Another reason a college degree is important for me to achieve is so that i will be respected in my work industry of choice. When you are in a place of work, there is always someone who everyone looks up to because they know the most about certain things, but more often than not that person has the highest degree in his or her field. If I was awarded this scholarship i would be more capable of being that person because i would not have to worry about leaving school to figure out how I will pay off my
debt. As a young adult, being on my own is something is not to far in the near future, so I believe it is time to start that process of becoming independent. Independence is something that excites me when I think about college, because I am virtually on my own. The reason for this is because when I am at college my family won’t be there to help me along the way with laundry, food etc. With this scholarship I would be put in the position of starting to learn how to provide for myself without worrying about crippling financial debt along the way. Along with providing for myself, living on my own would definitely put me in a good position to start my life. I say this because when in college for the first couple of years i will be in a dorm, but after that it will be all me on my own. If awarded this scholarship I would be able to go and start my life without worrying about paying all this money when i actually start my life.
Is college worth it? Is college worth the time and energy you invest? This is a question that many students ask themselves as the cost of college rises and jobs are harder to find. As a 27 year, old college student myself I really thought about this question. I had to think back when I first started college at the age of 18 and how I was excited about starting college. I easily got tired of all the work that it took to get the degree so I dropped out. After having my first child and trying to work and take of her and myself with only making minimal wages, barely get by that when I knew college is worth it. A college education is one of the most reliable paths to financial success for students and gives the opportunity
Education is one of the most important heritage that a father can give to his son. Education is the greatest inheritance a parent can leave to the son, being educated is not to acquire knowledge but more than that it be lack of ignorance. Someone once said that “I do not read for more intelligence but rather to be less ignorant”, these words have a world between them, because many people study for a degree not for gain knowledge. Education can be defined as the wealth of knowledge acquired by an individual that would be a common way to define which education, but is also the most seen college students? This is the biggest mistake of most college students, which go to colleges
Many students are faced with decision once they are about to graduate from high school. That decision is, “Is a college degree really worth it and is going to college what’s best for me?”. A lot of the time you are about to graduate high school and you don’t know what you are going to do with the rest of your life and that makes going to school that much harder of a choice.

Nowadays people passion about becoming successful in life. Everybody wants to have a lot of money, because money makes our lives easier. To get a lot of money, we have to have a well-paid job. College majors are one of, if not the most important aspect of college. Starting at young ages, students are pressured to think about their future and the possible career paths they will take, leaving little room for them to relish in their childhood. In high school, they are told the AP classes they take and the clubs they join should be reflective of the major they will have in college. This pressure ends up being a source of stress for many incoming college students who have no idea what they want to do with the rest of their lives. Moreover, when students are rushed to make a decision, they may end up in debt, unemployed, or working a field they have no interest in. Additionally, the necessity of bachelor’s degrees to get well-paying jobs,
“A good education is a foundation for a better future.” ~ Elizabeth Warren. The reasoning behind why I want to go to college is to better my future. I am considered one of the first generation in my family to go to college, putting a lot of meaning behind why I believe I should go on to a different path. From a very young age I have always held high expectations of myself, even of the numerous changes in careers I had obtained an interest in. I have always envisioned myself going to college because I certainly value education. I believe that the more education I receive, the more valuable I am to this generation of the work force. Not only does my passion of learning hold place in the reasoning behind why I want to go to college, but because of my role models growing up. My parents both encourage me on a daily basis to go to college, and have encouraged my initiative to seek more in life. My father once explained that he once had this opportunity to receive a free ride to college but decided to stay home and start a family. He of course never looked back or regretted his decision because if not I wouldn 't be here today, but he encouraged me to take on these amazing offers and
As tuition costs continue to rise to levels higher than ever before, many are asking, is a college education worth the financial investment. What exactly is the value of a college education ' The answers to these questions lie in the economic, societal, and personal benefits that a college education enables. The financial burden of debts and lost potential wages carried by many who choose to pursue post-secondary studies is certainly present. However, evidence indicates that the long-term benefits of completing college far outweigh the costs, and these benefits extend past the individual to their families and society at large. Whatever the benefits may be, a college degree is a necessity for today’s generation
College is a very important thing. If you go to college you will most likely get better pay in your career. Also, with a college degree, you have more opportunities. I believe that everyone should go to college. If you don’t go to college and just go into some job and that fails then you have no backup plan. A college graduate is more likely to be offered employment than another who didn’t attend college, if you have a college degree you will make more money in your lifetime than someone who doesn’t have a degree, if you are considering having children having a college degree is very beneficial to them, you have a higher chance of having better health yourself, college is very beneficial, and if you go to college you will have a better social
I want to further my education at Bethel University, by enrolling in the master’s program primarily for three reasons. First being, I have completed the undergraduate program at Bethel University and consider this university to be the ideal place to further my education. Second, education is important to me and I look forward to gaining experience and enhancing my skill set at Bethel University.
A college education is necessary today in society. Students can focus on their academics and try to get a high score. The cost of education for each student has become more difficult to afford. Thus, many students and teachers wonder if free college tuition must be granted. Free education must be responsible and funded by the U.S. government because it will help students focus on their studies, and encourage them to work harder in school. Even thought many people think that education must be free, it is very important for many reasons such as the economy, quality of education, and value of a college degree.
Out of many events of my life, not many have been ones that have helped me decide a path of academic or future careers. There has only been one such event in recent years that has helped me decided for the first time classes and majors that I would be interested in. This event was a field trip and competition at IUPUI.
