Mario Andretti once said, “Desire is the key to motivation, but it's determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal - a commitment to excellence - that will enable you to attain the success you seek.” Andretti’s words are as true today as when he spoke them. Every day should be a continuous journey to get to your goal. Starting off with the right step is a major component. Therefore, I chose to apply to Stanly Early College High.
My purpose and goals in attending college is to make something of my life. It is a good thing. No one wants to be a nobody. But sometimes it takes time in order for one to realize this. & nbsp; Upon graduation from high school, I, like the majority of others high school graduates, had no clue what direction my life was heading or even what I wanted to become.
...when I got older I did research and found the reputation of the University extends beyond athletics. It is a premier university with some of the Nation’s most creditable research. My desire to enter this program is influenced by the program’s leading-edge approach to the study of individuals and families, and associated programs. Another element that allured me to the program is the diverse curriculum preparing students for diverse living and working environments. I am interested to complete courses such as Child Development, Human Sexuality, and Parent-Child Relationships. In addition, I am excited to interact with Dr. Mary Elizabeth Curtner-Smith and Dr. Casey Totenhagen whose work is close to what I want to pursue for research. I am beyond confident my experiences are a welcoming and valuable addition to the scholastic environment at The University of Alabama.
“A good education is a foundation for a better future.” ~ Elizabeth Warren. The reasoning behind why I want to go to college is to better my future. I am considered one of the first generation in my family to go to college, putting a lot of meaning behind why I believe I should go on to a different path. From a very young age I have always held high expectations of myself, even of the numerous changes in careers I had obtained an interest in. I have always envisioned myself going to college because I certainly value education. I believe that the more education I receive, the more valuable I am to this generation of the work force. Not only does my passion of learning hold place in the reasoning behind why I want to go to college, but because of my role models growing up. My parents both encourage me on a daily basis to go to college, and have encouraged my initiative to seek more in life. My father once explained that he once had this opportunity to receive a free ride to college but decided to stay home and start a family. He of course never looked back or regretted his decision because if not I wouldn 't be here today, but he encouraged me to take on these amazing offers and
Education is the foundation of our world, and it is extremely important as it builds the careers that run our daily lives. Since education is so important and critical to how our world runs, it is important that education is productive in helping students learn necessary skills to help them be successful. Baldisare Castiglione’s Book of the Courtier, Jeffrey Selingo’s Book College (Un)bound, and Southern Virginia University offer three different models of education. Of the three models the best model would be Jeffrey Selingo’s. This model focuses on helping students find the best major that will help you be successful in the work force, balance your passion and basic skills, and addresses errors education may be unaware of.

Throughout my education I have watched my peers force themselves to school, never having the desire to learn or wanting to be apart of the joys of education.
