Throughout life we are given a choice on how we want our future desires and accomplishments fulfilled. I have chosen to be a lifelong learner. I have accomplished many goals through hard work, preserving, and commitment. I have several reasons to why attending Bethel college MBA program will be beneficial to my success and career. Many say when you are given the opportunity to describe your plans, it is good to be detail and show all of your desires. So, I will describe various reasons why I should be considered and admitted into the MBA program. First, I have worked in healthcare for 15 years. I started at a very tender age of 17 years old with my first job in a hospital. The hospital Human Resources staff did not
realize I was not 18. I had no clue at that time I was supposed to be 18 years or older to work in a hospital. I worked in house keeping. I knew at that point I was destined to have a better career. Next, I went back to school for Medical Assistant at a local career college. I continue to have greater desires in life. The medical assistant field was rewarding for me at that time being that the pay received was decent for a young person. Furthermore, I continue in my position until that burning desire came to go back to school and further my education. So, I enrolled at Victory University with the intent of obtaining my baccalaureate degree. Victory University was closed down, however God plans was that I still manage to be apart of the last graduating class. In addition to Victory University, I needed to continue my studies after receiving an Associate Degree. I enrolled in Bethel University undergraduate program with intentions of moving up in my healthcare career. I have plans of working in administration with the intent of becoming a hospital executive. Therefore, admitting me would help assist with the necessary skills and thought process needed to be a successful CEO. Lastly, I have also had the experience of being an entrepreneur. I currently own a business which have been successful. So, I am looking forward to attending conferences, and being among the Professionals that are seeking similar experiences. I have learned how to use my time wisely and I believe I am a great fit for this program. I have been an instructor of health science in high school setting and in post secondary setting. I have a goal to get my PhD to teach in a University level. So, I will make Bethel University have a great graduate report. I am apart of that report after maintaining above 3.0. GPA.
I always felt that all medical centers was understaffed, not knowing what to do with new technology to help the patients. I always felt they did not care about patients but come to find out the doctors and nurses are understaffed and unappreciated as well because of lack of the proper management or training. As for the other question it made me realize that you do need several skills and attributes in order to be a well-trained HRM. The list I found during my research helped my way of
The historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) are fledgling to compete with Predominately White Institutions (PWIs). HBCU were established to serve the educational needs of black Americans. Before HBCU college was create blacks were generally was denied admission to traditionally all white institutions. Since black Americans was prohibited from whites schools HBCUs became the principle means for providing postsecondary education. There are several reasons why all blacks’ schools does not compete with predominately white schools. HBCU’s most of the time do not keep their accreditation, their tests scores are very low, and do not get as much funding
Working in the health care industry takes a lot of courage and patience in order to deal with different individual’s personalities and to be equipped to handle stressful situations according to the issues at hand. As a senior consultant at the Practical Health Care Consulting firm, my supervisor has instructed me to spend three months at the Caring Angel Hospital. While at the hospital there are a few tasks for improving the quality of care, adding value to the organization, improving employee morale, etc. Although these obstacles will be a challenge, there is an opportunity for improvement. This will allow the Caring Angel Hospital to increase revenue and accomplish the goals that are established.
I had known for years that I wanted to work in the health care field, but I always believed it would be as a doctor. I watched for the first few years of my brother’s life as he struggled with different health challenges such as being born premature, having croup and breathing difficulty, and speech impairment. Watching my brother struggle and then being able to overcome these difficulties, as well as seeing other children around him who were not as fortunate, really pushed me even at a young age to make a difference. My family, both immediate and extended, were very supportive, and I felt a real positive push towards working hard to achieve that goal of working in health care. In high school, I was fortunate enough to do a cooperative placement at the Peterborough Regional Health Center’s Intensive Care Unit. Through observing rounds and being in the medical setting, I truly knew this is where I wanted to
If you have someone who may have been in banking for several years as an administrator and hiring them to be a healthcare administrator you may find out quickly that you have hired the wrong individual. Yes they may have great leadership skills and communication and relationship management skills but if they have never worked in a clinical or hospital, or any healthcare setting for that matter, how do you expect them to be able to relate to the complex problems that may occur with patient care, hiring the right employees to oversee patient care, and in many cases, hiring the right employees to oversee the hiring of the employees performing patient care. There are also many different computer programs that are necessary for an administrator to know in order to run a health care facility in an effective manner. Yes, many different occupations have programs that they must learn in order to be effective, but in the health care arena many times there isn’t time to teach one from scratch on how to use such a program. One example of not having enough time is when a major natural or manmade disaster takes place. Many times an administrator may have to jump in and work with field staff or hospital staff to save lives without doing patient care and if they do not know how a healthcare environment works, they could cost the lives of innocent
Healthcare is a stressful field of work and because of that it is easy to blur the boundaries of professionalism.
Over the last six years, I have really looked up to my clinic director, or the “big boss.” It didn’t take too long after I started working to realize that I wanted to be in her position one day. She is the best example of using interpersonal communication in the workplace. “Health communication encompasses the study and use of communication strategies to inform and influence individual and community decisions that enhance health” (Healthy People). There are many forms of communication strategies that one can use in a healthcare environment when dealing with different challenges and also in gaining skills. Healthcare is much more than being a caretaker and/or a caregiver. Aside from the all the doctors, nurses, and medical staff, there are receptionists, medical records, finance, coders, and various other administrative roles throughout a healthcare organi...
For the past two and a half years I have worked at a local hospitals behavioral health unit. From the beginning, I have viewed each patient with
Liberty University is my dream school because of its solid Biblical foundation, opportunities for students, and excellent educational program. I have found all three of these qualities in my interaction with the university. I truly sense that Liberty wants what is best for its students both inside and outside of the classroom. In short, Liberty is my dream school because of its heart. The Honors Program at Liberty furthers my respect for Liberty by challenging its students and providing them with opportunities to succeed. Being accepted into the Liberty Honors Program would mean many things to me including preparing me for my future and giving me the chance to become a Champion for Christ. It would challenge and provide me with a close-knit Christian community, new growth opportunities, and a balance amidst the wide variety of new experiences. Being accepted into the Honors Program would further enable me to pursue and fulfill God’s purpose for my life.
My interest in the healthcare field stems from my childhood. My parents and relatives work as doctors, pharmacists, or engineers. Growing up, I listened to how they worked as a team to discuss solutions to make a difference in healthcare and how gratifying they felt when their solution worked. Moreover, I emulated them and dreamed of following them to make a difference as they did. These goals sparked my interest in the healthcare field and I currently volunteer as a pharmacy assistant to educate myself on the healthcare system. As part of the pharmacy team, I look at the patients’ charts and solve problems to satisfy patients’ needs. Every piece of information I received is addressed or forwarded to the appropriate personnel. When I come across documents unrelated to the
Healthcare administration provides leadership and managemnt to health care systems, hospitals, and private or public health systems. There are requirements for most professions in the health industry but with the proper education and certification, most entry-level careers are attainable. Healthcare administrators are leaders so one must be able to handle the responsibility of the job. There are characteristics that can be associated with being a health care administrator. I have learned over the course of the past few weeks that this the career path that I would like to follow and have set a few goals to help promote my career growth. My research has helped me learn many aspects of this profession and what it takes
I’m a student at Tompkins Cortland Community College this is my first semester as a college student. I plan to go to college for four years and only be at TC3 for this one semester, then transfer to a four year school. College has grown around the world more than ever and more people are attending college more than ever. I have chosen to go to college because of the rewards after graduation. Yes it is another four years of school but by getting more education and an extended degree gives me more opportunities for better jobs and more money. The career I have chosen to study is business administration. I am hoping that it takes me to a great job managing a company or possibly being an accountant.
It’s the end of the road for my high school career and what a year it has been. This year went by so quickly, I felt it was certain. Since the beginning of high school, I’ve grown through the years into the person I’d become. Eventually, I would soon enter the college life and live on through the rest of my life. Linden High School was a giant journey full of obstacles that amended who I was as a student. By the time senior year arrived, I felt like I like I could give it one last shot. To show the teachers that I wasn’t going to let my senior year go to waste by slacking off. The majority of my senior year was me trying to figure out which college best suited me. I wanted to major somewhere in the business field and through all the open houses’
The experience of working at the hospital has given me a new sense of perception of the world and of the diverse group of people inhabiting its schema. It has also changed how I perceive myself; I learned that all the stereotypes I may have for a group of people will probably be wrong. I also learned more about my own identity, what I still need to work on, and how to manage it as it exists today. “Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.” JFK
...chieve our goals. Personally I have chosen the MBA program, an especially US based one, to differentiate myself from others, to create a competitive advantage on the human resources market place and to use the gained knowledge to help my organization being more competitive.
