When I was a kid I went to a physical therapist with my grandparents and they let me come inside with them. That is when the fascination began. The doctor was a very nice guy, and he started asking me questions about what I wanted to do when I was older. I said I want to do your job, and that is what I have been wanting to do since that day. I find the aspect of helping people the best. This job helps so many people in so many different ways. It helps people get back to what they use to be before their accident, or what ever happened to them to cause them to come see me. This job helps people from shoulder surgeries, to people need to learn how to walk again. I want to be that person so bad, I want to be the doctor that the people see a hero in, that people see a great role model. I want to be not only a doctor that helps them get through this, but a friend that they can rely …show more content…

I hope that this organization can help me reach my goals, and to most importantly make them become a reality. I want to look back onto my life and know that this scholarship, and college helped me to be the man I will be. I hope you accept me into your college and most importantly giving me this

I wanted to be in a healthcare profession where I know I could spend quality time with my patients, and be able to help them to improve their quality of life in all aspects. Occupational therapy was the perfect fit. I have found that occupational therapy, amongst others, is one of the most holistic health care professions and I am very proud to have chosen this as the career path to take. It is a profession that requires understanding, compassion, and sensitivity; all of the characteristics that I tremendously value . Occupational therapy is a career where there will certainly be much contribution to society and also bring enormous self-fulfillment.
I find occupational therapy to pique my drive to teach people valuable life skills as well as learn from those people and their experiences. Being an occupational therapist would allow me to have one-on-one interactions with patients and establish meaningful relationships over the course of time. It would also give me the dutiful privilege and responsibility of instilling confidence in others and helping them realize their full potential in self-suffiency. All of my personal experiences, challenges, educational backgrounds, and professional interactions have guided me toward pursuing my goals of gaining experience working in all populations, enabling patients to thrive in their daily lifestyle, and spread public awareness of what OT has
I know that through my hard work and dedication I can make my goals a reality. However, it may not be possible without these Scholarships. I am hoping that through the help of scholarships I will be able to achieve all my goals in a timely
but I have a pretty good idea as to what type of job it will be. I would like to go into the field of a physical therapist and sports medicine, I fell I will enjoy this more than any other type of career just because I already have a lot of interest in it. Sports medicine involves athletes who are constantly training to be in the best physical shape they can be in. It involves athletes with rehabilitation and supplements that they can take to help either recover faster or to help them perform better on their playing field. A lot of high caliber athletes such as olympians are involved in sports medicine, because it is able to get you back into your sport, faster and with less likelihood of re-injury.
From a young age I was interested in the medical field. As I became more exposed to the various options, I decided physical therapy was the right career for me. My experience has proved the field to be interesting and fun. I enjoy working with people and the versatility of therapy. There are many areas to specialize in and I look forward to learning which one is right for me. At the moment I am interested in pediatric acute care but I am also interested in sports and orthopedics. As I continue my studies, I look forward to learning about the different fields in which physical therapy will take me. My future views may change which physical therapy field I wish to pursue, but right now I look forward to learning as much as I can about physical therapy and helping others.
The career I have chose is Physical Therapy(PT). Physical Therapist do many different things, but their main function is to help impaired or physically disabled people enhance their movement and handle their pain. Physical Therapist are a main source in the rehabilitation, medical care and prevention of people with long lasting illnesses or damage. The reason I chose this career is because I love helping people and enjoy seeing people be motivated and succeed at their task. To help someone gain full strength in their limbs or maybe even learn how to walk again is my lifelong dream. It is important to understand the education or training requirements, skills or talents needed, salary and benefits offered, and the duties for a particular career
I have always wanted to work in the medical field since I was a child. Around four, I told my pediatrician during a well- check visit that I wanted to grow up and be just like her. My love of infants and children strongly influenced my career choice because I want to have the ability to help sick children who do not have the ability to help themselves. I have considered many options to enter the healthcare field from nurse, to doctor, and finally came to the conclusion that what I truly wanted out of my future resided in a career as a Physician Assistant. Becoming a PA is not something that I have considered lightly.
Physical Therapy When children are young, they are often asked what they want to do when they are older. As children our reply is usually a general occupation like doctor, astronaut, pilot or something else that is common. Many kids who say doctors do not understand how many fields of medicine are available out there. For someone who enjoys helping others through the difficulties in life, becoming a physical therapist can bring satisfaction and enrichment. Physical therapists are “highly-educated,licensed health care professionals” (“APTA”).
Also this scholarship will help me as a future educator to help others go forward in pursue education rather than give up. An organization would be feeding the homeless. Through this I learned the importance of feeding those who are unfortunate, and being a helping hand to those who need an helping hand. Feeding the homeless is demonstrated to give without saying “no” so thorough this I am able to help as much people and make a difference in the world. I also learned the value of having compassion rather than posing judgment on others.
I am passionate about making a difference in as many lives as I possibly can. As someone who is also passionate about having a successful future, I believe that achieving this scholarship will allow me to pursue these passions and attain my academic goals of going to graduate school to get my PhD and become a Clinical Psychologist, possibly transfer to UGA as a junior, and to be responsible with my money and the way that I spend it.
In the future, I hope to pursue my career dream of becoming a pediatrician. Pediatricians can be identified individuals who specialize in giving medical care to children and adolescents between infancy to adulthood at eighteen years of age. I became inspired to become a pediatrician due to my immense love of children. Perhaps I have an innate intuition for taking care of people being that I have always felt that I excel at taking care of others. The idea of taking care of others truly makes me feel that I serve a purpose, not only to better the life of myself but the life of others. Therefore, I believe that becoming a pediatrician will help me combine the best of both worlds into a career that I adore and cherish.
There’s just something about it that captivates me. Seeing the way that people improve through any help, whether that be physical or mental. I love interacting with people and I love helping people and that is what has motivated me to choose this career. It was a very easy choice for me to make because I love helping people but I am not motivated enough to go through many years of schooling to become a doctor. I am very thankful for them, but I want a family outside of my career and I know that’s difficult to do with a career path like that. I also have no interest in being a nurse because I want semi-normal work hours and I know that hospital hours are crazy. I know that there are several other ways to help people, like being a teacher or a guidance counselor, but I think Occupational Therapy is the right career path for me. When I suggested this career path to my parents, they immediately agreed with me and thought that this was the perfect fit. Out of college, I do want the experience of working in a hospital, but from my own experience, Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists have pretty normal hours in the hospital environment. I’ve wanted to be a therapist for a while now, but I kept changing what kind I wanted to be. One of the most important moments that helped to decide Occupational is when my mom’s childhood friend recently got hospitalized and paralyzed from a car accident. We were visiting him, and even though I had only met him once before, he was so positive about where he was and he was so accepting of his paralyzation. I was looking at the board that has all of his information on it, and he had an occupational therapist’s name written on his board, so I asked him about it. He told me that the physical and occupational therapists he had, pretty much did the same thing for him, so far in his recovery process. They just had different hours and came in at different times. He was very thankful for them
As a child I had always been interested in medicine and the medical world. My passion of learning about the human body started when I was younger. I encountered many health problems throughout my toddler years. I looked up to the doctors and medical staff around me and continue to look up to them, they were and are still my heros. That is why my goal in life is to become a general surgeon. I want to be able to save many lives since it is possible now to do so now.
I can observe that physical therapy is a job many set their sights on, but fail to follow through with. I know that I will gain enough experience and education to succeed with flying colors because of my personality of being dedicated, motivated, and hard-working. Everybody gets hurt at some point in life, and it would be my pleasure to take on the responsibilities of a physical therapist and help people get back on their feet for the rest of their
