The ability to be self-aware, identify specific personality traits, and assess personal strengths and weaknesses are powerful tools for lifelong personal and professional success. One of the most popular and trusted personality assessment tools utilized today is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (CPP, 2016). Having a strong understanding of my personality traits will aide in personal and professional development. It is equally important to be aware of personal strengths, as it is personal weaknesses. When we can identify our weaknesses we know exactly what our areas of improvement should be. Personal awareness of our strengths can be beneficial in knowing what areas we should continue to develop and utilize to ensure continued success. According to The Meyers-Briggs Personality Assessment the following are jobs that are appropriate matches for ESFJ personality types: Nurse, Teacher, Administrator, Child Care Provider, Physician, Clergy, Office Manager, Counselor, Social Worker, Accountant, Administrative Assistant (Personalitypage.com, 2015). For this project; I will be discussing the findings of my personality type. According to “Jung’s Personality Test”, I am an ENTJ. Various sources point to this type as;” The Executive.” The research I have done has brought tremendous insight into; who I am as a person, the functions of my thinking process and how to utilize my strengths to be more of an efficient/successful person. I also learned about the various careers the best suit my personality type which; helps me when It comes to job seeking after graduation. It is very important to know yourself and see how you can maximize on your God given potential. For that reason, I am very glad I took the personality test and studied this subject manner. The Myers and Briggs Analysis is a series of questions that when answered are examined and grouped together in order to determine the personalities of those taking this test. This particular test can result in sixteen different outcomes or types of personalities, which is determined by four different categories that judge if you are introverted or extroverted, use your senses or your intuition, your choice to think or use your feelings, and finally if you are judgmental or perceptive. These series of questions are designed to judge our personalities and help us to determine which career pathways we will be most suited for based on our personality traits and abilities to work well with others, which is important for our future decisions.
The bases of this paper will be based on the results that I had obtained when I took the Myers-Briggs personality test. The results that I had obtained was that I was determined to be an ENFJ. I will go into depth about letter and how each represents that a specific aspect of my personality. The results that I had received were not what I had expected, but the more I read about the trait the more I realized how it suited me. I will also talk about the information that I had found useful from the book, Type Talk at Work: How the 16 Personalities Types Determine Your Success on the Job by Otto Kroeger, which gave me insight on how to interact with other personality types especially in the work environment. The information that I absorbed from the personality test and from the book will go into use in my personal and work life so that both environments will be cohesive and peaceful.
Throughout the beginning of this semester I have looked at how individuals behave within business organizations. Through various exercises and results, I have found a number of patterns within my behavior and interests. I have become aware what interests me, and a number of skills/abilities I was oblivious I had. This reflection and in class exercises has allowed me to expand my skills, abilities, and behaviors, well fitting them into prospective future employment.
Upon completion of the 16 Personalities personality assessment my results revealed to me that my personality type is “Executive Personality (ESTJ, -A/ -T) (Neris Analytics Limited, 2017)”. ESTJ, -A/ -T stands for Extravert, Sensing, Thinking, Judging. Executive type personalities are those individuals that use tradition and order throughout all of what they do. The values of honesty, dedication and dignity are very important for individuals with this personality type. Executives usually counsel or advise other people. They are deeply imbedded in their communities and families. I would agree with the Myers-Briggs personality assessment regarding these results.
ENTJ personality types are natural born leaders that make up a mere 2% of the population. They are strong willed and results driven individuals that always get the job done. However these individuals tend to struggle with the handling of others emotions. For this reason ENTJ’s must remain actively aware of their actions as to not crush those around them. Through a series of tests and research I was able to learn more about myself as an ENTJ. This research enabled me to discover various factors about myself that will aid me in becoming a better employee, manager, and co-worker.

This paper researches the typical traits of the INTJ personality type according to the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator. Additionally, I will be discussing the opposite personality of INTJ, type ESFP. I will detail two past experiences where my INTJ personality posed problems. This paper will also explore strategies that may benefit the INTJ personality type, myself included.
Already knowing what my personality type is, I skipped this assessment. I find personality types fascinating. These tests can be very helpful in life, especially when choosing a career. Still, I find that this personality test, or any personality test, is not necessarily useful, as personalities are constantly changing in little ways. Over the course of a year, I have had three different personality types, which were all similar in some way. All personalities had agreed with me at that time. At the current time, out of the sixteen types, I am personally an ESTJ, which means that I am an extroverted, sensing, thinking and judgmental individual. According to 16personalities and Wikipedia, my type is considered “the executive” or “the supervisor.”
It is remarkable that by answering a few basic questions, a person can learn key characteristics of his or her personality. After taking the personality test, I learned my general personality type is “The Consul” (ESFJ-A). Individual traits of my personality type are more extroverted than introverted, more observant than intuitive, more feeling than thinking, more judging than prospecting, and more assertive than turbulent. My role is Sentinel and my strategy is People Mastery (“Consul Personality,” 2017). The results of the personality test offered insight into my overall personality type and its social and workplace implications.
During this assignment I took two different tests to help me understand the vocational personality type which best describes me. The first test was the Holland’s Occupational Personality test. The test was developed by John Holland, Ph.D., and covers six different areas: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional. While reading through the description of all the sections before taking the test, I followed the instructions and highlighted areas in the description which I thought reflected my personality.
