The National Honors Society is a privilege reserved only for those who show scholarship, leadership, service, and character these are all traits that I show on a day to day basis. I show scholarship characteristic by always working hard in class and trying to succeed. I show leadership by helping less experienced people in everything I participate in. Character is shown through, my favorite sport, football. I also show service in that I am always working on helping the community through my help. I have always showed hard work and determination in the classroom to learn and better myself. I am constantly trying to work ahead on long term projects so I don’t have to hurry at the end and turn in something I won’t be proud of. During class, I never cause distractions that would disrupt either my or anyone else's learning. In the 11 years I have spent being a student at Allegheny Clarion Valley, in either the elementary or high school, I have only ever got one B on a report card, which that already shows the hard work I put in the classroom. I am always using hard work and determination is to advance and learn in school. …show more content…
I showed my ability to lead and help teach kids by coaching 5th and 6th grade basketball all through the winter. I have also tutored people in my class after school if they were having real trouble understanding a concept in class, as an example two girls in my class were having problems understanding matrics in math class and I helped them better grasp the concept. If people come to me looking for help on a project, whether it be for school or outside of school, I will always help them to the best of my abilities. Leadership is necessary to effectively help and work with
National Honors Society is an extremely prestigious and well-known group that gave me the opportunity to assist the community while working harmoniously with my peers. To get into NHS, there are four pillars one must fulfill, including, scholar, service, leadership, and character. One may not realize it, but these qualities apply all throughout life. In order to be successful, one must achieve some form of each pillar. Being dedicated and committed to learning and improving but also using the knowledge one previously has is to be a scholar. Giving back to one’s community by making improvements or donations or simply just being courteous to one’s neighbor is to give one’s service. Taking the initiative to solve problems and guide others towards
Thank you for considering me for induction into the James Monahan Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. I have been looking to join this society ever since I heard about it and have been trying my best so I can. I believe that I demonstrate the qualities of service, leadership, and character and would be a great addition to the National Junior Honor Society.
I would be an excellent choice to be a member of the National Junior Honor Society because I show service, leadership, character, and citizenship. It is an amazing opportunity anyone is lucky to have, and I am more than happy to accept it. I love helping people, being able to feel accomplished knowing I put a smile on someone’s face. Being in the National Junior Honor Society, I’d love to share my ideas and thoughts on how to make the world a better place.
“Leadership, dreams, scholarships, service, pride and character”, the first words that come to mind when I hear “National Honor Society”. Being chosen for National Honor Society is a great honor, as it has proved that from my childhood till now my hard work has paid off. From the beginning of high school, as a freshman to now a junior, I have always pushed myself to do better, but not better than others, better than myself. I had competition with myself and my past grades, as I emboldened myself to do better than each of my past marking period grades. I heartened myself to get stronger grades, because since the day I found out in freshman year that there was National Honor Society I was determined to get in. The day of my sister’s graduation
To be in the National Junior Honor Society, one must have good citizenship and character. I seek to be a part of this society because it is a great honor and shows not only to others, but also to myself, how hard I have worked throughout my years at Northvale Public School. I take part in school activities and have helped my teachers, so
I’ve demonstrated leadership qualities in various ways throughout my time at high school. During the drafting competition, my group needed some confidence and someone there to help guide them to victory, and I was there to help them. A group works together, but sometimes you need a leader. This leader will help facilitate and get the group to do what they’re supposed to do. I think I helped ease off their nerves and I told them to relax and do how we practiced. This paid off because we placed first place and each of us
I am honored to be one of the remarkable students qualified to join Eureka High School’s National Honor Society. In school I have always tried and determined to do my best. I work hard for the grades I have achieved. I always show excellent character as I believe this is a very important skill to have and display. I seek and pursue many community service opportunities since giving back to others is key in strengthening our community. I demonstrate the qualities that are necessary to join this prestigious society, including leadership, character, scholarship, and service.
The National Honor Society helps students to become successful leaders in their communities by encouraging volunteer work and academic achievements. A successful leader guides others to become leaders as well. They show integrity, and always have a positive attitude to contribute to new ideas. The National Honor Society assists the community in any volunteer work such as the beach clean up, charity, and fundraisers. An NHS member especially motivates students around them to be academically inclined.
I see the National Honor Society as a great opportunity for students that demonstrate high qualities in academics, service, leadership and character. It seems that this organization helps students to become a better person in their society, making them remarkable leaders. It also helps colleges and even jobs to notice a good leader and a well prepared person when looking at the students’ resumes. Colleges and jobs will know this is the right person to go for.
A leader is someone who will work towards a goal that will benefit the group as a whole and along the way they will lead that group to accomplish that particular goal. A leader has to have passion and they need to create a vision and follow through with it until it is completed. I was selected as one of eight out of over 400 applicants to represent the church camp that I have attended summer after summer for two weeks as a high school staffer this past summer. I had to lead two large groups of campers, made up almost entirely of new camper, in a group bible study for two weeks . At first, it was difficult to get the campers to open up, but later I realized that they were trying their hardest and I needed to be patient. My goal was to lead and help them become the best person and future leader anyone could ask
I’ve been told my whole life to “stay in school,” but I haven’t understood why until recently. Education, and the way each individual comprehends uniquely, allows for young adults to be set free into the world with knowledge that very few had until the recent centuries to change the world. At one point, I may have taken my education for granted, but I now fully understand the opportunity that has been placed before me. I want to use my education to change the world for not just me, but for as many as I possibly can around me, in a positive way.
I would be a beneficial member to National Honors Society because I have the capabilities to set and exceed expectations not only in academics but as a successful role model and leader in our society. Being apart of such a prestigious organization has been a goal of mine since day one, and would not only be a privilege, but a honor. One must give practical meaning to the Society’s standards of scholarship, service, leadership, and character which I believe I have applied to my life to help achieve my future goals.
The National Honor Society (NHS) is an organization built to recognize student’s leadership and service. It is built upon scholarship, character, leadership, and service. The NHS gives well-educated students with dreams and leadership a change to upgrade ourselves. Its main purpose is to obtain leaders from a variety of societies to help out in their communities. Members of the NHS are seen as the best student in their class, and not just in terms of academics but also in leadership, service, and character.
Where I stand with leadership skills, I could be pressed a bit further. When I was in middle school I was painfully shy. I was so afraid of what people would think of me. When I was in seventh grade I longed to dye my hair purple but I quickly disowned that idea because no one ever dyed their hair crazy colors in my home school and I would have been forsaken by almost all of my peers; so I stuffed myself back inside my quiet little shell and sealed it shut. I had zero self confidence. For my freshman year of high school I decided to attend the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts because I knew I wanted to pursue the arts since that’s what I have submerged myself in ever since I could hold a pencil or use my tiny little toddler hands to smear my bedroom walls with paint. I instantly fell in love with that place and quickly became my safe haven. There I was accepted, gaine...
I have demonstrated leadership skills through my summer job working as a camp counselor at a camp through the YMCA of Greater Charlotte. The YMCA Readers program is a free six-week program that allows at-risk students to stay ahead of the summer learning loss curve. Students are given reading instruction, two meals, and swim lessons. Most students chosen for the program come from challenging home situations and are often behind grade level on their reading skills. This position has tested my leadership skills as I was placed in several difficult situations through the summer, however, this also helped me grow.
