I want to become a United States Army Officer because I would like to better myself mentally and physically, through hard work, discipline, and leadership. Many of the skills I posses I have developed over my life experience, along with the desire to achieve, it will allow for me to become a prosperous officer. Most important, a successful officer begins with self-improvement and perseverance. However, it’s not just wanting to become a successful individual, but becoming part of a successful a team. I aspire to become an essential member of an outstanding team, and I believe I can achieve that as a United States Army officer. I have had leadership roles like being a manager at Chevrolet. I have developed skills that make me an understanding individual, and I know how important it is to lead a team and reaching an overall goal. As a college student I found myself in situations where the only option was teamwork. I have organized my own study groups throughout college, and I find them to be essential to reaching an important merit. Not only did these experiences teach me how to work well with others, but how to become a successful leader. My whole life, I have always enjoyed being part of a team. Growing up playing sports has taught me to put the team’s achievement ahead of mine. I have taken independent research projects at a leading research institute, and It has given me the understanding that being independent only means being part of a team that is achieving a like goal. As an intern, at the Veterans Hospital and Cancer Center, it has taught me the importance of quality assurance for my self, my team, and the patient.
