Many teachers assign group projects. Sometimes, however, an uncooperative member can affect the entire group. I think group projects are good for the students. When students work in group projects it lightens the load, work is equally distributed, and the students have assistance when needed. I think teachers need to do more group projects for the students. Some students work better when they work in a group, but some students try to not do any work at all. Sometimes groups get an uncooperative member, which makes doing work very difficult to do.

When students work on group projects they all have the same amount of work they have to do. Some students might have harder work to do, but they all have the same amount of work they each have to do. By working in groups it teaches students to share the work load and give them an equal amount of responsibilities. working in group projects shows their teacher how well each student works with the same amount of work. A common pitfall associated with working as a group is disagreement about the way something is being done, a particular issue, or an opinion. Sometimes one member might have his own beliefs and want to perform a task in their way and conflict can arise from this. People are more likely to follow through on decisions made by groups that they are connected to. At Delta High school, a student may choose to either work alone or to collaborate with a group in order to finish a project. Both choices offer pros and cons when it comes to efficiency and the quality of work. In a group setting, students may get sidetracked, or the group itself may not be able to function properly. On the other hand, group projects allow broader opinions and valuable peer reviews. Choosing to do independent work will benefit the student’s work ethic, but will also increase the work load. At times I prefer to work alone such as tasks that have deadlines or papers, but on projects or things that require multiple parts I enjoy working in a group. Working alone tends to keep me more focused but when working in a group it is beneficial because there are different ideas from each person which could give a better outcome. I think it is important to be a person who can do both group work and work alone.

The groups were usually graded as a whole which meant that I could not let the other person’s work go undone. I am completely against group work. I disagree with it because there can be too much socializing, group members who refuse to do their work, and someone missing from school that is needed for the project. These may seem like small issues to some people, but they are greatly effective to a student’s group project. Sometimes students socialize too much when doing group work.

Working with other students on a group project can sometimes be a huge challenge because some people have a better work ethic than others and feel as if they are doing all the work. While working in groups, it can be hard to spread out the work evenly, and there are normally people who do more work than others. Group projects require good work ethics, teamwork, and good communication among all members. Good communication is a very important factor to have within group projects. Without communication, the project would be unable to be completed because not all the members would have the same ideas or plans in mind.

My goal as a teacher is to improve my student’s education and help them grow knowledgably. I like to see students at different levels develop with each other and learn. I want to challenge the students and watch them grow to their highest level of education. Therefore, having the students in groups is the best educational strategy I like to use a lot. I want my students to have freedom with whatever creativity they want, and to allow them to express themselves at any time. With this freedom students will be able to experiment with likes and dislikes and be able to figure their weaknesses and strengths.
