Henry Ford once said, “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is a success.” In my classroom my goal is not only to teach my students, but to also have my students interact and work with each other on a daily basis. I want them to develop life-long skills such as respect, communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and leadership. The beginning of the year starts with a discussion about respect and what that means in our classroom and in our school. I teach both math and science and I incorporate group work in my class on a regular basis. My room is arranged with round tables that promote student interaction. My premise is that we all have to learn to work together to help each other out. We are all human who are capable of mistakes and we are not perfect. Therefore, we need to be forgiving, caring, They are communicating with each other and thus learning to give and take with each other. I am not saying there are no arguments but they know that in my class they have to work together. One person on the team making the decision is not an option. In science we have lab groups and each person in the group has a job. Jobs are decided on by the team members and a student can’t be the lab leader for every lab. Each person gets a card with the name of the lab job with a description of their job responsibilities. For example, one person has the job of the “encourager.” Their job is to monitor all team members to ensure they do their own jobs. They also take responsibility for praising and affirming jobs well done. They record comments and actions that show positive interpersonal communications. The lab jobs encourage responsibility and ensure that students are focused on the lab. It also allows for self-confidence and student growth

Most times I’m put into groups, I don’t know the other people very well. This is common at school with my classmates. I’m used to having no leader in the group and everyone fighting to have their ideas chosen. Once a leader was chosen in the group we started discussing openly everyone’s ideas with the chosen leader voicing their opinion on which idea to choose and why. Usually when it comes to my friends I take the leadership role and make an try to hear everyone’s opinion before making a decision. I believe that for a team to find success and reach their goal someone needs to take leadership and voice an unbiased opinion. The team needs to hear everyone’s ideas and choose one based on which will lead to success.
Each year, as a new group of students enter my classroom, I will encourage them to be expressive of their imaginations in their favorite subjects, whether it be art, literature, math or music. We all have rules and regulations to follow, and each student will know that there is no exception in the school or the classroom. Another goal in my classroom will be to keep the students excited about learning, not to treat school as a game or a social event, but to encourage a unique and fun atmosphere to learn. My educational ethics toward each student will be to emphasise that everyone is an individual, they are all special and unique in their own way, and that every student does not learn on the same level. I hope my students will treat each other the way they want to be treated, and respect those that may be less fortunate.
For my project, I have selected the project is the College Democrats Club, this club was chosen because of how active they are in the area, both inside and outside of Creighton. This club has regular meetings of at least once a week along with additional meetings with state representatives and other local political figures. Their goal is to provide students with an outlet to become knowledgeable and informed voters who are able to educate and create and environment based off of democratic values. Classroom management plays an important role in effective teaching by providing a desirable environment which promotes better learning and student growth. The most important effect that classroom management has on student behavior is that it promotes better learning because students can better focus when their environment is free from distraction and conflict. When a teacher provides a well-organized and controlled environment, student’s academics interest and performance increase while behavioral issues decreased (Pope, 2010). One classroom management technique I plan to use in my future classroom setting will include the use of cooperative learning. According to Maher (2010), cooperation learning leads to higher group and individual achievement, higher-quality reasoning strategies, more frequent transfer of these from the group to individual members, greater metacognitive skills, and more new ideas and problem-solving. Students will be assigned heterogeneous groups with a mixture of high achievers with low achievers. Groups will also be created to ensure diversity between gender and ethnicity.

The "slacker kid" will only cause himself harm. The person that completes the work is the one that benefits from these type of experiences, by becoming more responsible. In order to stop these kinds of students from letting their peers do all the work teachers should apply the individual group member grade. This is a way that a persons ' individual group members grade everyone in their group for how much effort they put into the project. The group that I participated in was the parents without partners group that provides support for women who are raising children on their own as well as providing resources to encourage empowerment. The group consisted of women from middle to high income socioeconomic backgrounds and appeared to be independent and educated women. Zoe and Kayla facilitated the group while Vanina, Abby, Michelle, Karen, Stephanie, and I were the participants.

My goal as a teacher is to improve my student’s education and help them grow knowledgably. I like to see students at different levels develop with each other and learn. I want to challenge the students and watch them grow to their highest level of education. Therefore, having the students in groups is the best educational strategy I like to use a lot. I want my students to have freedom with whatever creativity they want, and to allow them to express themselves at any time. With this freedom students will be able to experiment with likes and dislikes and be able to figure their weaknesses and strengths. Education is for everyone and it’s a right by low for all; teachers, on the other hand, should do their jobs very honestly and effectively.
