To depend on others when my grade depends on it NO WAY. Group projects are a workload even though they can provide some real world experience. Students like me hate group projects. Students hate group projects because group members get off task, all the group members get the same grade and you have to rely on other students. First of all, I hate group projects because students in the group get off task. I hate group projects because whenever someone in the group see their friend they started to get distracted. As an example when I was doing a project in spanish this girl would always zone off and talk to her friend and she never got work done. It was until she realized that she need to do work. I hate this because whenever the group project has a participation grade and the one person who doesn’t do anything brings the grade down. For example when I had a history project some of the grade was about participation.The group got points taken away because some students weren’t participating. Some teachers may give you a seperate grade but that is very few. Most teachers just sometimes give you grades about how much your group participates. For example in 6th grade my history teacher made us do a presentation. The teacher paired me up with shy kids and the didn’t speak during the presentation and our group got a bad grade just because she didn’t speak. Another things that I hate that all the group members get the same grade is that they always say why did our group get this grade. As an example this girl was using our group to not do her work and she was wondering why our group got a bad grade. Normally in a group, the work will be divided into the number of members in the group and may be arranged to each of the members to receive the part where they are more confident and have more knowledge of it. In addition, if a member is confused with their work, he can receive assistance from his teammates rather than just being alone and figure it himself independently. However, I believe sometimes been in a group can have its cons. A common pitfall associated with working as a group is disagreement about the way something is being done, a particular issue, or an opinion. Sometimes one member might have his own beliefs and want to perform a task in their way and conflict can arise from this. Once conflict arises, the members can discuss their own opinions and might arrive to a solution, but this can cause a member to not show their full potential because something was not done the way they wanted. If you are studying together it is very helpful, and you will get a lot done. Also, with a group mind, if you are doing a project for work/school there is always somebody there to look over your work, just in case you mess up. Then, if you are doing a project with some a lot of calculations, having a group is very helpful. In case you mess up or just do not see a mistake you made on a calculation and correct it, so you do not have to get some points taken off for getting it wrong. There are pros and cons to this subject matter, but I think the cons outweigh the pros.
1. Christine’s leadership abilities could benefit by having knowledge of the stages of group development. Specific to her situation, it seems that aside from the very first group meeting, Mike was not present for the forming stage of the group. As a result, questions such as “What can the group offer me?”, “Can my needs be met and still contribute to the group”, and other discovery inquiries did not get answered for Mike so he has not felt part of the team so he has withdrawn from the group. As a leader, Christine could have encouraged to Mike the importance of being present for group meetings so he can be part of the team. For example, at the lunch room incident when Mike walked away, she could have talked with him individually and explained to him that she perceives that he does not feel welcome and has been avoiding team meetings. Christine could address the how important it is to attend the team meetings, explain to him the “WWIFM” (what’s in it for me) aspects and the fact that team needs him as he has so much that could contribute and add value to the team. She could also indicate that the team’s success will only be possible when every member contributes. By doing so, she can help ensure that Mike is able to join the group during the forming stage and hopefully move quickly to the norming and then performing stages.
Interact with diverse groups, when doing group projects we should not stick with the people we feel comfortable with. Instead we should have individuals from different backgrounds and different cultures. Someone with a different race than yours and interacting with those of different age and gender. Putting yourself in a social situation where you are the only one of your culture or language.
For collaboration, I choose my group project on Macbeth because we worked together as a small group and assign each other roles. But we were all accountable for our own work. I learned when working in a group we were had to set a goal date and we needed to identify any problems in my group. I also learned as students that we need to be invested in our own learning when working as a team. I learned that when working as a group you need to practice and be on the same page as a whole. put us in a group project. The project we had to do was to build a bridge out of popsicle sticks, and see how many textbooks it could hold without breaking. In this case working in a group project is better because others see the flaws you create and fix it when you would not notice it. An example of a flaw is when I thought only two parallel sides would hold up those heavy textbooks. When we observed it, we realized it would fall quickly because the weight would not have been distributed nicely. I am for group projects because it lets kids share knowledge together, so you could get the greatest grade you could possibly get.
In a team-oriented setting, everyone contributes to how well the group succeeds overall. You work with fellow members of the group to complete the work that needs to be done. Having the right people in the correct roles is an important factor in measuring the success of a team, where you are united with the other members to complete the main goals. Every group is made up of definite strengths and weaknesses. Our team's 3-5 major strengths necessary to work accordingly consist of Informer, Summarizer, Orienter, Piggy-Backer, and Encourager. One of our strengths as a team is that we get input from everyone involved. Every member of our team is a leader in some way. Part of being a good leader is knowing how important it is to receive the best ideas from each member of their team. We attend group meetings where we discuss any challenges, issues, and problems. At these meetings, we often exchange ideas or brainstorm new ones with each other and come up with the best and most creative team solutions as potential answers to those perceived problems.
Group project also strengthens my capabilities in organising and managing time effectually, for example attending scheduled group meeting and complying my roles and responsibilities to finish my part of work within the deadline. While working within groups can be stressful, there are countless benefits and advantages if the task is well managed and organized.

We did have a couple days where we had randomly established group work time, but I found that not being able to come to class prepared to work together meant that we did not really have anything ready to be able to get anything done. My goal as a teacher is to improve my student’s education and help them grow knowledgably. I like to see students at different levels develop with each other and learn. I want to challenge the students and watch them grow to their highest level of education. Therefore, having the students in groups is the best educational strategy I like to use a lot. I want my students to have freedom with whatever creativity they want, and to allow them to express themselves at any time. With this freedom students will be able to experiment with likes and dislikes and be able to figure their weaknesses and strengths.
