Writing an essay as to “why I deserve this scholarship” gives way to the option of me writing a very factual and boring essay consisting of monologic sentences stating facts such as I volunteer my time in numerous places throughout my community such as my parish, my town, and all three of the honor societies I am apart of at my school which are the National Honor Society, the National Spanish Honor Society, and the National Science Honor Society. I could say that I have surpassed two-hundred documented and verified service hours since I began high school. I could go on to say how all these experiences have been rewarding and make me extremely happy knowing I made a positive impact in the lives of my community members. I could say I work extremely hard in school. I could brag about the fact that I take numerous AP classes, the hardest math and science classes North Hunterdon High School offers such as AP Physics …show more content…
I deserve this scholarship because at seventeen-years-old I can say I know what a hard day’s work is. I can confidently say as a young man I know what it takes to be successful in this world and I am smart enough to realize that as cruel and sad as it is, a college education does not run on hopes and dreams. I am proud to state I am an enrolled student at Stevens Institute of Technology where I will study to be a Mechanical Engineer beginning in the Fall of 2018. I can also say that Stevens Institute costs $69,888 a year to attend, this is public information found on their website. Based off of that number for four years that sums to $279,552. This number is not meant to gain sympathy; it is simply facts. As a young person, looking at that number is overwhelming. I cannot fathom the amount of time nor effort it would take to accumulate such a sum of money. Granted I have received some financial aid however the amount will not nearly absolve the financial obstacle college will cause for my
I, Hope Turnbull, am a Senior of Stockton High School in Stockton Kansas. My plans consist of attending North Central Kansas Technical College starting Fall 2016, where I want to begin my study of nursing. Due to me having all of my general education courses finished upon my college arrival, I have been accepted into the first year Nursing Program (LPN). I believe that I deserve this scholarship due to me excelling in my education at a very young age. My grades are earned as A’s and B’s in school.
Getting this scholarship was my jump start to furthering my education and I knew from there that I was going to prove statistics wrong. I knew I was going to college and that things were going to be different for me and I was going to make a difference. I won’t be the black kid who drops out of school, because my education is too important to
...r. With all of the downfalls that I have experienced in my academic and personal life a college education will make it possible for me to continue my journey into becoming a prestigious working corporate lawyer. I have the drive for success and I am certain that with this scholarship I would be able to pay off my debt and help my mother with her own educational goals. I was content that I was able to encourage her to attend school and I am most fortunate to be given an opportunity to help both her and myself obtain our ultimate goals for the near future. Thank You so much for this opportunity to compose this essay to you about my experiences in the academic arena and why I am deserving of this course. I am most deserving of this opportunity and I wish you and your organization much success for endowing me with this opportunity to be a candidate for your scholarship.
I am a year thirteen student at Eirias High School and I am currently studying four A levels; English Language, Applied Science, Geography and the Welsh Baccalaureate. I am confident and bale to carry out and complete tasks on time or to a deadline. This has helped me in my subjects because both Applied Science and the Welsh Baccalaureate contain a lot of coursework and deadlines that need to be met.
Receiving a scholarship would be transformational in my life because it would provide me with exciting opportunities and life changing experiences. I am the third child in my immediate family to graduate high school, and it is my responsibility to pay for my college education. Financial help would greatly decrease the economic burden of pursuing an undergraduate degree, and would allow me to discover where I belong on campus, as well as explore my passions. I have developed a strong interest in business from my high school experience in DECA, a business organization, and consequently plan to work toward in degree in business administration with a concentration in organization and innovation management. Ultimately, I would love to put my degree to use by developing and managing programs that provide people in need with assistance.
Applying to colleges has reignited my desire to reach Little Rock’s escape velocity. I’m ready to trade green trees and hiking trails for skyscrapers and digital billboards. Adjusting won’t be easy at first, but I trust that I’ll adapt quickly. Manhattan is where I belong. I am determined to find myself working on Wall Street one way or another.
I cannot even begin to express how truly grateful I am to receive this scholarship. It has taken me far too long to muster up the courage and strength to finally pursue my lifelong goal of obtaining my college degree. Although I had always done well in school as a kid, my childhood was a bumpy road, and going on to college after high school was never discussed at home, let alone the importance of a college degree. Once I graduated from high school, I did what I felt was expected of me, I moved out, got married and started a family of my own. It did not take me long to realize how difficult it was to support a family on meager wages. It took a toll on my marriage and I soon found myself a divorced, single mother. Even though I had a good, steady
I believe I deserve to be selected for this scholarship, because I'm a hard student. I commit myself to take advantage of the opportunity that the scholarship will provide for me. I am a student not only works hard academically, but I try to improve my community by doing volunteer work. Education is the key to success and I connect my desire for education by helping my peers. As a result, I take part of the Dual Enroll Program at Clark Atlanta University, which provides high school students college credits before entering college.
Receiving this scholarship would be beneficial to my education and career path in many ways. I come from a single income, middle class family, and unfortunately means that college is not a viable option for the future of either myself or my family. I have my mind set on attending a four year college, preferably University of North Alabama. This is crucial to my long term goals of becoming a Physician's Assistant or a Pharmacy Technician. Going to college would be a great achievement because I would be the first of my immediate family to attend college.
Attending college is the next stepping stone in my life, after I graduate high school. College is very expensive and it will place a giant burden on my family, financially. Receiving this scholarship
Born and raised in an Indonesian average family, I have seen a lot of people my age not getting an adequate education. Luckily my mother values the education level of her children. She made us read kids’ magazines, continuously giving us books to read, and send us to an international school. I have understood the value of education since a very young age. Neither of my parents had the opportunity to attend college; because of this they struggled in their professional lives.
To me, a college education is my chance to put in the work that will allow me to eventually create opportunities for others. As a young girl my mother and grandmother always taught me the importance of giving back. Giving back never truly meant something to me until I lost my grandmother 3 years ago. My grandmother was a person who devoted her entire life making sure the people around her were happy, even at times when she may not have been happy herself. Losing one of my biggest supporters was very detrimental to me personally, socially and academically.
In school, more than anything else, I look forward to math class. My mind runs in patterns and numbers. I aspire to study finance and economics in order to use my passion for numbers and patterns to benefit others. My love for numbers is derived from the sensation brought on directly after completing a problem. There are not many feelings more rewarding than completing a proof of a derivative and discovering that the answer is correct after 20 minutes of frustrating work!
Hello, I’m Zachary Plunkett and I would like to thank you offering a scholarship to a Blairsville High School Senior. From what I understand Bernard Conway was a model citizen and role model. He guided his life with honesty, respect, loyalty, and service. Thankfully my parents instilled these values into myself at a young age, whether I wanted or not. Today, the characteristics mentioned are ones I strive to live my life by.
