Everyone loves to eat chicken, whether it is baked, fried, bone-in, or boneless. However in America, there are thousands of restaurants that serve chicken. Wingstop has been a franchise that has gained popularity over the most recent years. The Rapper Rick Ross even owns a few Wingstops and raps about them in his songs (Schlossberg). However Wingstop has gained some competition over the years with several other chicken restaurants opening up all over the valley. ATL Wings is one of the restaurants that is giving Wingstop a little competition. One factor is the wait times. At both establishments orders can be placed prior to arrival, however I experienced a longer wait at Wingstop. This was probably due to the location and the popularity of the restaurant. Another factor that is a contributor is the food selection. Both restaurants offer the choices of bone-in or bone-out. However Wingstop only has a selection of 11 flavors, while ATL Wings have 18 “flavors of sauces and dry rub” (Saria). ATL Wings also offers sides like honey biscuits, salads, and also Kool-Aid to drink if you are not a soda consumer. “The restaurant has even taken home the top prize at Mesa’s annual Wingstock competition for the last few years in a row” (Saria).
The factor that plays a role in the customer experience is the price of the food. Both restaurants’ prices vary when it comes to quantity, the prices are considerate. For example, it is cheaper to mix and match flavors at Wingstop than it is ATL Wings. Wingstop also offers family sized package deals, while ATL Wings does not. They also have chicken tenders at Wingstop, which is another difference between the two. However the chicken is fairly cheaper at ATL Wings when ordering all one flavor, and the wait times at ATL Wings was way quicker than the wait at Wingstop.
