When deciding a career path I’d like to follow, I contributed many of things I do in my life as well as what has affected me. What I enjoy most is helping those around me especially those in need. What impacted me most is the stories my parents would share with me. They immigrated to the United States in 1997 in efforts to provide a better life for their children. Both my parents experienced not having anything to eat for days and having no access to education. They did not want that for their current children. After two years of moving to the United States I unexpectedly entered their life. I’ve never had to experience what it's like not to have a meal or place stay. Growing up I never took anything for granted because things life and come
My paper will give you insight on my healthcare profession. I choose healthcare administration as my career choice. A quick look into the career of an administrator. They manage hospitals and specific departments or clinics within the hospital medical and diagnostic laboratories. They are also responsible for directing and coordination of health services. Healthcare administration is a great career if you would like to get into a leadership role within any of these places. On February 14, 2018 at the Hollidaysburg Area Jr. High school located in Pennsylvania, a Career Fair took place. What is a career fair? A career fair is when people with different careers/career pathways explain information about their career to students so they can begin planning what they want to do. Some of the speakers that presented were from science, communication, and business pathways and all had interesting explanations however, the most interesting was the Human Services career pathway.
When I get out of high school I want my career to be a farmer. The roots of farming began in the areas of present day turkey in the middle east about 10,000 years ago. There is about 570 million farmers worldwide. More than 90 percent of farms are run by an individual or a family and rely primarily on family labour. Family farms occupy a large share of the world’s agricultural land and produce about 80 percent of the world’s food. I have been working with a farmer for half a year now and I love it. I have seen and learned what I need to know and what I need to have to run a farm. It’s going to be a lot of working and learning to save up money and to learn what I need to know to have and run a farm.
Five jobs that I've found that might be a choice of a future career I want. Each of these college I listed are some of the highest ranked in the world. You would have to work hard to get into the colleges and work even harder when you get accepted into the college.
Throughout my highschool career, I had always intended to go into the medical field. I had this intention not because this was the career I wanted to go into, but because I felt that it was expected of me. However, during my junior year I had an English teacher who helped me fall in love with writing. I grew up loving literature but just never thought about going into that career field. After realizing that literature made me truly happy I decided that was the career I needed to go into. At the moment I am debating upon majoring in journalism or becoming a high school English teacher. Either way, I know that I have finally found a career where it wouldn’t be about profiting from a salary. There would be so much more. However, in order to achieve
Ever since I was young I looked up to all my teachers as great role models and knew that that was what I wanted to have a career in. I made the decision to major in Social Science mainly because history has always interested me. I love learning about the past, especially our countries history and how we got to the place we are today as well as learning about ancient empires from around the world. I also have always had an interest in our government system as well as psychology. In our school, our history teachers have always given us a fun way of learning rather than through lectures. I think that is important to students because it lets them learn better and easier by having different projects. I hope to be the same type of teacher like they are throughout my career.
One occupation that could fit me is a librarian. One reason I find this to be a possible fit is that for my multiple intelligence quizzes I scored very high on the verbal/ linguistic intelligence. After reading the description and how to improve my score, I found that many parts of it do apply to me. Within job skills I found that I am able to speak a foreign language, research, listen, proofread, edit, filing, and reporting. Also, within the improving my verbal intelligence question I found that I love to read and try to finish multiple books a week when possible, I enjoy word games and am currently playing one with my friend, and I sometimes read with a dictionary to learn new words. Within my personality, I am conventional which means I like things to be structured and follow a system, much like a library. In the past years, I have volunteered at my school’s library every single lunch in eighth grade where I would shelf, stamp, barcode, and check out books. Although I enjoyed volunteering during my lunches at my library, I have never considered it as a future profession for me.
Science branches out to the research of anything ranging from life to the latest technology. It has a vital influence in the development of new things that might improve our everyday life. Some researchers help us learn what not to do with certain elements. A chemist to be specific, does exactly that. According to Emporia State University, a chemist is a scientist who focuses his/her studies toward that involves of chemicals. Becoming a chemist isn’t easy, but it is a career that contributes to society.
Growing up I always knew that I wanted to work in the office completing many jobs that have to with typing, answering the phones, filing documents and using the computer at my very own desk or work station. So when it came to completing this career research assignment, I thought it would be a piece of cake. Not only do I feel like this is a good career choice for me because of my experience and background but I love working and assisting people. This career will allow me to just that, being office assistance will also allow me to travel and take business trips and meet new people.
“You’ve got to be a doctor, lawyer or engineer” is a phrase that African immigrants stereotypically dictate to their children because they want their children to have a better life than they did even if these children have no real passion or drive to be in these high paying professions. While I am sure that my parents secretly also held these desires, they did their best to give me the latitude to make my career decision by myself rather than attempting to force feed me a list of careers that would make them proud. I am glad they did this because I was quite rebellious as a teenager and if they had attempted to confine me into one of those paths I probably would not have developed the skills or thirst for knowledge that I have now.
My career goals are to explore the endless possibilities available to me as I enter a B.F.A. or a B.A. degree at a college that encourages my creativity and self-discovery as a performer and young actress. This goal focuses around finding other elements of myself as a performer of which I can contribute to the theatre community not only on a Broadway stage in New York City but perhaps in other theatre spaces or recording studios around the world! I plan to focus my study of theatre around musical theatre while also exploring the many other aspects of theatre such as acting on film, directing productions, and choreographing for each of these. Once I have graduated and received my degree from a university, my next goal is to attach myself to
As an Economics with Business student, I hope to pursue a career as a data analyst after completing my degree. Education has been playing an important role in my life since I started my journey in learning, I have always understood the significance of education. I believe it is one of the major factors for my future career development. However, a research published in 2010 by Higher Education Careers Service Unit (HECSU) reveals that to be more employable graduates will also need to have a certain set of skills. The following skills are the ones most of the employers seek: dedication and commitment to quality work, basic literacy and numeracy, the ability to work well as a team; good communication skills, demonstrating self-motivation and a basic ability to use IT (Atfield & Purcell, 2010). Furthermore, the report "What do graduates do? (2016)" also suggests,
I was born and raised in Carolina, Puerto Rico. My parents are both dominican, therefore I was raised in two cultures. I went to school for the first time when I was 4 years old, and my earliest memories come from that event in my life. I remember some of my friends whom I went to elementary school later on. I also remember my teacher, she used to get our attention by putting a stick on the palm of her hands and keep it balanced. I used to think it was magical and amazing. I don’t hold too many memories from that period in my life though, but I do hold lots of memories from my time in elementary school.
Does the walker choose the path or the path the walker? Believe it or not, sometimes it’s the latter. People often ask me why I chose public service the State Department; I tell them, it just happened. Growing up I mapped out a career path in early childhood education and had a passion for developing the next generation. After finishing high school, I took classes and researched opening my own daycare and at age 19; I had a successful licensed daycare with one employee and eight students. This was the path I chose, my career, what I was meant to do because I excelled at it.
Like everyone else, family and friends have played a vital part in my life and have affected my outlook on money and career. I grew up in a family of six, with my father, who is an IT engineer, as the head and sole breadwinner of the family because in my country -Saudi Arabia- there aren’t many opportunities for women to advance. Although he made sure that we lived a pretty comfortable life, I would often see him foregoing his needs and wants to fulfil those of his family. So, I wondered about how different our lives could have been if my mom (or me as the oldest child) were working along with him. I believe that a person
