My career goals are to explore the endless possibilities available to me as I enter a B.F.A. or a B.A. degree at a college that encourages my creativity and self-discovery as a performer and young actress. This goal focuses around finding other elements of myself as a performer of which I can contribute to the theatre community not only on a Broadway stage in New York City but perhaps in other theatre spaces or recording studios around the world! I plan to focus my study of theatre around musical theatre while also exploring the many other aspects of theatre such as acting on film, directing productions, and choreographing for each of these. Once I have graduated and received my degree from a university, my next goal is to attach myself to
I've always wanted to be an actor. I've always liked performing. We used to live in Alberta, and I didn't have much opportunity there. But we moved here {Vancouver, BC}, and I got an agent, and here I am.

People have dreams of what they want to do or accomplish in life, but usually musical theatre is just pushed into the non-realistic void. It isn’t a dream for me. In the past four years, musical theatre has been clarified as my reality. Musical theatre has been the only thing I have seen myself wanting to do. My first love was The Phantom of the Opera, seeing how I watched it almost every day and it was one of the first shows I saw. Of course, I started doing all of those cute shows in middle school and making a huge deal about it to my family and friends, but I have never felt so passionate about something. The minute I get up on that stage I throw away Riley for two and a half hours and it’s the most amazing feeling! Being able to tell a story
The power of the mind and human spirit can transcend physical limitations, I have a speaking disability (stuttering) and once a target of jokes of my fellows, I achieved the most respected place in our society i.e. Professorship at a University.
Theatre has always been a topic of interest in my life. I would watch movies and be more intrigued by character choices, make-up, costumes, and background instead of the actual movie itself. I would find myself thinking of things I would have done different in a film, especially films that were based off of books. So, in the 5th grade, at Handley Elementary, I made the decision to enter SASA middle school in the Theatre concentration. I really liked Theatre, but I eventually grew tired of being on stage. I enjoyed things like critiquing monologue pieces, building sets, being part of the stage crew, and analyzing scripts more than actually performing. In the 10th grade, I was assigned to be the assistant director of a play entitled “The Rope Swing”, which was part of the fall production at SASA in 2012. Since then, I have assistant directed three shows and I’ve fallen in love with directing.
My first goal is to learn and interpret acting skills taught to me. To do this, I will apply to multiple schools, where I can learn to act on screen, before their application deadline ends. Then, I will attend the school and learn from the professors. Next, I will develop skills like improvisation and styles of acting during school. Lastly, I will utilize my resources and professors to better myself and make sure that
Now, when introduce myself and people ask me who I am , I tell them “I am Kiara and I am an artist”. Now, I don’t know who I am without my art, theatre has become an essential part of who I am and who I want to become. When you are younger people always ask what do you want to be when you are older? Of course when you are young everyone is filled with wonder about your answer, whether it’s a model, astronaut, race car driver, etc. Now that I’m older it’s expected for me to know exactly what to do with my life and how to do it. I realized very soon that I sometimes can be an indecisive person when it comes to life long decisions, this being a huge decision in one’s life you could only imagine how many times I’ve changed my idea on what to go to school for. Although, changing my mind become a norm, I eventually decided a degree in business/marketing is the right path for me. In this paper
I’ve always loved acting. Since I was six years old I knew I wanted to be an actress, I watched Anastasia, an animated musical, and I fell in love. Ever since then I wanted to act, I kept reenacting movie I loved. My aunt is a set designer for Fox Colombia, which was then RTI, and I would get to read all the scrips, be on a set while they were shooting, be around the production, and I was the happiest kid. After a lot of begging I had my first audition at 8 years old, but my “acting career” didn’t last long because shortly after that we moved to the United States.
I decided to pursue a future career as a Choral Music Educator. I have been a member of the Concert Choir at Rock Hill High School since my sophomore year. Every day, I look forward to going to this class, because it is an hour and thirty minutes of stress
All college students should partake in career exploration project because it gives structure and direction. The result from an assessment identifies and prioritizes which careers will best suit an individual person or student. It does not necessarily mean they have to pick that particular job or career; it gives them more chooses to choose from. Career exploration is a life long journey that is emotionally, physically and mentally stress full. I say lifelong because as time goes on so does an individual’s views, abilities and skills. Career exploration is very helpful to a career, because it improves a person's ability to become informed of their interests, skills, values, abilities, aptitudes, weaknesses and strengths It helps in the guidance of career matters across the nation, job influence, growth, work hours opportunities to name a few. An individual needs to remember that when doing this career exploration project to keep in mind that money is only a temporary fix. In the beginning it may bring you joy and happiness but as time goes on it will not keep up personal enjoyment i...
Whatever it involves, working towards something that truly inspires you is worth all your energy and devotion. Having this mantra in mind is what motivates me to act as throughout my whole life acting has been an outlet for my creativity. This has allowed me to empty my heart and soul into characters, whilst allowing my instinctive emotion to form a believable character that is both entertaining and truthful. That for me is the dream. The dream where I can honestly say that I am proud of my own work and what I do contributes to the arts industry.

My goal for college is to graduate with a Masters Degree in Science and the Arts with as minimal student loan debt as possible. I began to narrow my college options.
