Personal Development is a lifelong process that involves the assessment of current skills and talents and the enhancement of oneself based on that assessment which then leads to the realization of goals and an improved quality of life. To be able to assess yourself, you need to be able to reflect on your past which helps you to understand the attitudes you have developed and the foundation that you will be building your life on. Also, you have to reflect on your present to see if there’s room for improvement and reflect on your future so that you can achieve your aspirations. Like everyone else, family and friends have played a vital part in my life and have affected my outlook on money and career. I grew up in a family of six, with my father, who is an IT engineer, as the head and sole breadwinner of the family because in my country -Saudi Arabia- there aren’t many opportunities for women to advance. Although he made sure that we lived a pretty comfortable life, I would often see him foregoing his needs and wants to fulfil those of his family. So, I wondered about how different our lives could have been if my mom (or me as the oldest child) were working along with him. I believe that a person …show more content…
I want to buy a house for my family in the earlier stages of my career, partly pay college tuition for my younger siblings and pay for my master’s degree; budgeting will play an important role to help me manage and save funds to achieve my personal goals. There’s only so much one can plan for and unfortunate events can happen to anyone, so having an insurance coverage is imperative to cover for future losses. I would certainly consider buying homeowner’s insurance, automobile insurance and term-based life insurance and as far as health care is concerned it will covered under fringe benefits from my future
Growing up I came from a family of two sisters and a brother. My parents worked hard to be sure that there was always a roof over our head, food on the table, and clothes on our back. My worked for various companies until he was able to obtain his degree as an electrical technician. Today he maintains his own business known as McGhee Electric. My mother also took on various jobs to make ends meet. She began work as a cosmetologist and slowly climbed her way to the top. After rigorous schooling and training, she is now Licensed Practical Nurse.
During this semester in the course human development and learning, the class has been learning about a range of ways that children develop and learn. This also develops the understanding of the human growth process in terms of different learning styles and what teaching strategies can be used. Learning about a child’s learning in primary school is vital in being able to successfully develop a range of strategies to benefit both student and teachers learning. Communication strategies to support learning, strategies to support inclusive student participation and engagement in learning, and organisation of the classroom and providing directions to learners managing challenging behaviour are all significantly important to uphold in
I would say economic support is one of the easiest family functions in my family for my brother and I, for my mom and dad are very driven and work hard to live a pleasant lifestyle. They own a single-family house, two cars and even a cottage down the cape. Furthermore, my parents instilled in us that working is important, therefore my brother and I have been working since the legal age in order to support ourselves and to create independence. While we each live off our own salaries, it a blessing to know my parent’s can always support me and my brother if ever needed. Because working has always been a theme in my family, and while the time and effort to fulfill this function is hard work physically and mentally, working is expected of us and looked at as a blessing, for many people struggle to get jobs, rather than a stressful task. I particularly love my job working for my local recreation where I am a supervisor In planning and teaching programs for kids ages 2-13, as well as a daycare provider and in that sense, I am very fortunate, and blessed, to have the economic support from myself and my family. Another function that is very important to my family, but at times has been hard to fulfill would be love and affection. Mental depression, addictions and illnesses run in my family and at times affection and love was absent. I always knew that my parents
Development is the process of growing, forming or creating into something slightly more advanced than before. Development starts during conception and ends during death. Development consists of three developmental domains which are, physical development, cognitive development, and psychosocial development. Each of which involve some form of growing or changing including the changes of moods throughout the lifespan. The Nature versus Nurture concept are issues that are found in stages of development as well. Nature which relates to the behavior that is inherited by genetics, and Nurture which relates to the behavior that is inherited or learned from the environment. With every developmental change or growth in a person’s life the mood of the
I’ve made it my passion to be a life-long learner to sharpen my skills, abilities and God-given talent. When an individual doesn’t make a conscience effort to expand their minds, then they are actually making a decision to begin to digress. Being an older college student, my desire is to learn everything that I possibly can with the aid of Victory University. It was fascinating reading about Rene’ Descartes who grew up in France. Descartes was also a life-long learner. He was the thinker and writer who coined the phrase, “I think, therefore I am” (Gluck, Mercado, & Myers, 2014, p. 7). Although Descartes existed during the time of the Renaissance, his theory that the eyes were significant to stimulating other parts of the body, such as the fingers, arms and legs was brilliant. It is now understood that this” process begins with the stimulus, a sensory event from the outside world entering” through the eyes (Gluck et al., 2014, p. 7).
There have been many challenging experiences in my life that have contributed to my personal development. Every day I go through experiences that I believe make me a better person, ranging from being the president of debate club, to public speaking, to handling a problem between my friends. But the most significant experience is the disintegration of the relationship with my father. From this, I learned how to handle my problems in a more intelligent and sophisticated manner. This has been the most impactful experience of my life.
The most hardships that my parents encounter were do part of a financial shortage, lack of money and a great amount of children to support stopped them from going to school and reaching towards a career and not a job. Well what is the difference? Actually it’s quite the big one, a job requires long hours of work and short time for breaks! While on the other hand a career you wake up morning after morning knowing that the work you are putting your effort into is work that you enjoy, maybe because it enriches others or maybe you just because it gives you a large bank statement. You can call it a heritage of will which has motivated me into seeking a financial success, I dream of working somewhere relaxed and social, a place where I wake up not regretting my life
One of the tenets of personal development is to bring about a behavior change. If you want to develop yourself, you need to change your behavior to some degree.
Personal development is something that I think has no limit, you always strive for improvement of your personality, characters or values. The first thing that I would develop further is self-confidence. A good leader should be always confident in his/her decisions and be sure in the correctness. If I compare myself couple of years ago I can see a big progress on this however this is the area where I still need to work further. The second character is linked to the first one which is decision making. This problem does not surprisingly show up at work but rather outside work. At work I feel confident about the decisions which I make, after thoroughly analyzing everything, however in everyday life I m...
As the title suggests, personal development involves development relating to someone’s personal experience, opinions, and thoughts and how they deal with each accordingly. Alongside development, keeping up with personal hygiene and stress management is equally important. A world class student would believe that personal development is just as important as everything else. Some characteristics that a world class student would have a good grasp on what they expect out of themselves. An ideal engineering student would know how to learn from failure and use the situation in their favor rather than beating themselves up about

Maya Angelou had quotes “We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty”. As a butterfly that come from a journey where a tiny, lot of legs crawling creatures that consume leaves called caterpillar transform into a beautiful, mesmerizing, graceful and enchanting butterfly. Like a butterfly we have to endeavor journey to develop ourselves which we can called a journey with a thousand steps.
Conclusions This research study explored the attitudes and self-development, including the self-esteem and self-identity in nine adolescent augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) users. Common variables among the study’s participants included: social and emotional support, victimization and bullying, positive peer-relationships, type of AAC device used, listener reactions and responses, barriers to participation, and attitudinal and physical barriers. These variables, the clinical implications, study limitations, and suggestions for future research will be discussed in the sections that follow. Social and emotional support For many (89%) of the study’s participants, the social and emotional support received from their non-disabled peers significantly influenced their self-development and overall self-esteem.
Personal life: The knowledge of the concepts has help me to understand about Personality development which will help me to develop myself ,to will also guide me to be aware how to behave with my clients professionally .
Although it is obvious that my ability to form and maintain attachments was affected, it is not so obvious to determine the long-term effects. Because early experience does not impact development in a linear way (Sroufe et al., 1999) both history and present circumstances are important (Sroufe, 2005). In fact, Bowlby’s model emphasises that behaviour is a function of an individual’s entire history; therefore change does not erase early experience (Bowlby, 1973). This means that even after significant change, there is a tendency for individuals to return to previous developmental trajectories (Bowlby, 1973). As such, the disruption to my development was merely that, a disruption, and through experience, I have learnt to form attachments again, therefore my development has returned to an adequate stage.
