Becoming a chemist isn’t easy, but it is a career that contributes to society.

The education requirement to become a chemist is a college degree such as B.S in chemistry or a B.A degree in chemistry, you can major in chemistry or a related discipline, such as physical science, life science or engineering. Required courses

to conduct basic or applied research. Most graduate programs give you the opportunity to choose a chemistry specialty, such as analytical, medicinal, environmental or theoretical chemistry. A master's degree program would allow you to choose a thesis or non-thesis option depending on whether you are interested in research. If you enroll in a Ph.D. program, you must conduct research and prepare a thesis or dissertation. You may be required to gain teaching experience in addition to conducting research and taking chemistry courses. After earning your master's degree or PhD , you can seek employment in basic or applied research.

Although you may spend much of your time conducting research in a laboratory, you will also spend a lot of time working in an office to prepare research reports and conducting theoretical research. Chemist who practice chemist is the one who is redoing what others develop, so basically they are just learning what the person develop.
