Career research reflection paper
Introduction
As an Economics with Business student, I hope to pursue a career as a data analyst after completing my degree. Education has been playing an important role in my life since I started my journey in learning, I have always understood the significance of education. I believe it is one of the major factors for my future career development. However, a research published in 2010 by Higher Education Careers Service Unit (HECSU) reveals that to be more employable graduates will also need to have a certain set of skills. The following skills are the ones most of the employers seek: dedication and commitment to quality work, basic literacy and numeracy, the ability to work well as a team; good communication skills, demonstrating self-motivation and a basic ability to use IT (Atfield & Purcell, 2010). Since all of them have highlighted the importance of good writing and spoken communication skills. To enhance this claim, I found that good communication skills are also listed in the study published by HECSU as one of the most desirable skills employers seek (Atfield & Purcell, 2010). Moreover, the interview with the Economic policy analyst in the EU Commission has showed that motivation is so important that will give you high job satisfaction. Based on my research, I learned that an employee who is passionate about your job will have higher job motivation, therefore resulting an increase in job performance (Springer, 2010). ). I am certain that my preferable future career will be more similar to the interviewee in the EU Commission rather than the Economics specialists in Palgrave Macmillan. Therefore, to summarise and answer the question stated in the introduction I would say Macroeconomics is more relevant to my future
