Recommended: Short article on the impact of music on memory

The first some on my album is Always Dirty Never Clean by Anarbor. Two years ago I went to my first warped tour. There are hundreds of bands and THOUSANDS of people. It was also my first general admission concert and it was completely insane, but I loved it. The first band I saw was Anarbor and the last song was Always Dirty Never Clean and it has stuck with me ever since. Whenever I listen to it, it takes me back to that exact moment. I was so happy, the people around me were happy; it was a pure bliss moment; pretty much something you see in dreams and if I could relive it everyday of my life I would. My next song is, Waking Up by PVRIS. I love this band, I love their lyrics but this is by far my favorite song. I connect to the lyrics, it's a bit sad but for some reason it makes me happy. It is called Forever My Father, this song is the most important to me. What I take away from the song is no matter where my Dad is, he is always my Dad and nothing is going to change that. It's kind of a cry to fill the hole that is there since he passed, but myself and the people around me will remember him for the man he was/is. My fourth song is Say Something by A Great Big World. Almost two years ago Hannah proposed to me on the Florence Sawyer Playground, sounds pretty weird I know but we were such close friends that we pretended to be married all the time and it has stuck ever since. We had a whole wedding ceremony in the church and our special song is Say Something. I am pretty sure we played that song on repeat for a whole week after our wedding. For me this represents how much I love Hannah as a best friend and how much we have both grown over the years. The band Flatsound has been my favorite for awhile, I listen to a lot of their music when I go to sleep, this is why I chose one of their songs for this project.     The song though, is not very memorable. “What If I’m Right” reminds me strongly of their old sound. This song plays heavily off of a repeating chorus which is very catchy. It has the most memorable chorus out of all of the tracks, and is also a personal favorite. “Take a Bow” is the eighth song, and is a filler track. The only thing that makes it interesting is the violin chords. There is not much more to say about it, except that it is extremely forgettable, and is my least favorite song. “Relax, Relapse” is all about anger and failure. The bridge has Matthews sounding like as if he is going to mentally collapse. His desperate screams in the bridge adds to the strong emotion evoked in the song. Unfortunately, it is my second least favorite song, as it is not very memorable either. “Second Guessing” is the tenth track and is the softer, redeeming song on the album. After listening to such dark themes, it gives the listener a much needed reminder of hope and purpose. The piano and lead guitar makes the song stand out because it gives it more of a rock sound. Last, the closing track, “R.I.P.,” is a strong song to conclude the album. The group chants in the song are actually apart of the song rather than background.
