The first semester of high school goes with me really well, I see that high school isn’t hard like I usually think back when I was in middle school. At the beginning of the school year, I used to think that it’s hard to gets an A in high school classes, but now I see that getting an A in high school classes isn’t hard unless you put in your effort and use my mind to think about problems, and questions. When I was in middle school, I have a B for Algebra 1, and I thought that by getting into Geometry, which is a class that is above Algebra so it’s much be hard, and that I will not probably gets an A. After the first semester is almost over, I see that I have survived Geometry and that I still have an A- in Geometry, showing me that it’s either that I’m good at shapes, or it’s just luck. …show more content…
Overall, I am most proud of how my grammar, and my knowledge about math isn’t good but that I still be able to survived with an A before the final, and I hope that final will not bring me grade down a lot. Being selectived to be in this AVID class, I feel that I am really special and that I will try to work hard not only for my future career, but also for the impression of teachers, and that I will for sure recommended taking AVID to any of the freshmen that is coming from middle school next year. My main goal for the next semester is that since I didn’t any type of activity this first semester, I will try to participate in at least one of the activities at school in the next semester as one of my goal, and my second goal is that I hoped that my grades will stays the same, or even higher in the second semester of
As many people have told me before, it is a very different ballgame than middle school’s easy going years. There is much more work, the classes are harder, and the environment is completely different. Many people’s grades may slip and they may cower in fear at the barrage of assignments they receive class after class. Unlike other people, I am confident in my ability to excel at all classes and to sustain exemplary grades. Therefore, while many are trembling in fear at the prodigious assignments and work is bombarding them from all angles, I will be at ease, knowing that whatever obstacle is thrown my way, I will conquer it and be its own
My Senior year in High School has officially begun, only one more year at Corona High. I know that Senior year is supposed to be fun, but I believe every year is an opportunity to improve. I have already set my goals for this school year. I believe I can achieve a GPA of 4.0 or above. However, there are some personal goals that I need to complete first. I need to stop my terrible habit of procrastinating. Another goal of mine is to pass my AP tests so I can earn college credit. I also want to learn new things, so I started to learn the basics of Coding, now I need to finish this course. These are some things I look to accomplish this year.
I am Stuart Keith from your B-day third block AP English 12 class, and I am looking forward to a great senior year in your class. This year, I am planning on dual enrolling in AP English in addition to taking the AP exam in May. My goals for this school year include maintaining straight A's as I have throughout my entire high school career, get into college, and fix my studying and procrastinating problems. After high school, I want to attend college and intend on majoring in civil or mechanical engineering. In school my strongest subject is math. Meanwhile, I have found that I struggle the most in English because I procrastinate when reading books and need to improve my writing. The one thing that worries me the most about this year is the
One of the hardest times in a developing adolescent’s life is the transition from middle school to high school Luckily, there are plenty of TV shows and movies portrayingthe everyday experiences that a high schooler faces. Well, these videos do not tell all truth. In some ways these shows portray high school just as it is, but in others these directed films are completely and entirely incorrect. Even though teenagers memorize these films forwards and backwards, they will in no way be prepared for what is about to happen when walking through the doors on the first day.
High school is the time of student’s lives. The time to party, have fun and have new friends, and it is the time to work hard to pass the SAT or ACT and make excellent grades to continue the education in college. Not every student in high school knows what to expect from college and unluckily, I was one of them. My experience in college so far has made me think about the differences between high school and college, and it made me comprehend that students need to be prepared for it. Professors, school resources, and the freedom that college offers you make it a completely different experience from high school.
I believe that I deserve a B preferably an A because I believe that I did good this semester. As a junior this semester was very challenging for me. But I kept going with hard work and some dedication. One of my biggest struggles this semester was Math 170. Math has always been my downfall but I always try to get it. But this semester it just didn’t happen. But I can say that I did try, actually I tried really hard to get my work done. I also have a problem with procrastination, that’s something I really need to work on. If I didn’t learn anything this semester I learned that unasked questions don’t get answered. I feel as though I should have come to you more often for questions because I know that I didn’t understand the material. I learned my lesson and that will never happen again. Also, even though I didn’t get majority of it I still tried; I should get some credit for that. I took the first part of this final and got a 93, perhaps that could be my final grade right there. Despite taking 17 credits this semester, along with being a Resident Assistant, I have managed to complete all of the assignments for this class. Though I didn’t ace each and every assignment I did manage to complete or attempt them. So far I’ve had a lot of good grades in my other classes, and once again I can say Math 170 was the most challenging. I believe that I deserve a B preferably an A because I always try to do my best in everything in school, because school is important and my future depends on what I do now in school, and the grades I get are very important. When we had class I always took notes, and never been afraid to ask questions when need be. All of my professors told me that I’m a good student and that I’m going to be very s...
Imagine it is one’s first day in high school. Standing in front befalls the entrance way to your new future, thinking of what lies ahead from the perspective of a middle school grad. One would perhaps have mixed emotions as to what to expect. Observing the new students around the corridors, it transpires as if they are dragging their feet to progress inside, for the reason that they are fresh from the blissful summer days; they are in exchange, yet again, to the reality of school homework, projects, reports and tests. Some have queries and doubts in their minds; what does one expect of themselves getting into a high school life such as this? “What remains in store for me, I wonder…” “This school year is going to be subsequently much tougher
Upon entering high school I expected it to be just as my middle school classes. This proved to be untrue, as I had very difficult and detail-oriented tests, along with much more demanding classwork and homework. Throughout my first semester I struggled to get everything done, such as studying, homework, club meetings, and dance classes. I knew transferring out of the STEM program would provide me with a less strenuous workload; however, I decided to persevere and strive to retain the grade point average I obtained in middle school. Although my grades were not what I was familiar with, the lessons and hardships I experienced during this time will last me a lifetime. I am thankful to have had this experience and learned how to better manage my time, while still being able to maintain my extracurricular activities. The lessons I learned from this experience show throughout all my grades ever since. I have also transferred what I have learned through this experience and taught these lessons to my students I teach every week at
There are many thing's I plan to improve and expect to happen this 8th grade year. So far, this year I learned many things are different from seventh grade. For example, in seventh grade we didn't have exploratory class which is different. I never knew the school district required internet safety to be taught to 8th graders. When I first got my schedule, and saw I had that class it sounded like a ELT to me. After sitting through one or two class periods of exploratory and discovering what it was, I found out it seemed like more fun than I was expecting. Another thing that's different this year, is in this class we write journals every class periods. Last year we wrote one a week, and they were due by the end of the class periods. Moving on
I think I just might have to study even though it 's no fun and I can 't concentrate . I have friends like Matt and Deb who if i 'm writing an essay and get distracted by my phone will nicely ask me “So Rique how is that essay going?” just because they want me get it done so we can leave. I might wanna keep them around for next semester. This course taught me that I should surround myself with people who share the same interests as me like Leela and Zay who are also Art Education majors. I will use that when I am no longer in college and trying to pursue my dreams and needing a good network. I need to work on my writing skills but i am getting there... in
Throughout many years, education in school seems to have become more about the grade and not how well the student understands the class. To many kids it is important to get good grades, but is it possible that kids with lower grades can still know more about the class subject than those with higher grades? By students in schools worrying more about their letter grade, it can lead them to spend their energy just making the grade rather than spending their time in class actually learning about the subject. Each student learns in a different way, which is why it’s complicated to grade each student the same. The main courses in school are math, science, English, and history.
Introduction This essay will focus on why grades on the high-school level are not important. Firstly, looking into how grades do not factor in all of the variables that lead up to the test and how the socio-economic factors influence grades levels. Also, how teacher bias can have an influence on the types of grades students get. Thirdly, they essay will be looking at the other side of the argument including how good grades can lead to better opportunities both in college and in the workplace.
Walking to my car on a cool fall day makes me happy. I love the fall it is my favorite time of year, because the leaves are changing and you have to wear a jacket in the morning. It just smells different. The great outdoors is my favorite place because I feel free and the sights and sounds just relax me.
First semester is in practical shape, I would do fine if I were to find a way to manage my day, as well as my life. I’m am starting to regret doing tennis, since it takes up time back in September, but I do it anyways because tennis is fun. Also, it is still early, so finding my inner balance with all of the classes that I am taking would be acknowledged if I was to be confident and face my fears. If I were to meet my goals, I have to embrace my fears, and break old habits, and get new habits that would lead me to success. I am like a snail, finding ways to be faster, so that I am ahead of obstacles and reach the finish line more early than late.
Since I started at the University of Central Florida my grades have been progressively getting better as each week goes by. This is happening because the more that I am starting to understand what my particular two teachers are looking for the better I do on their assignments. I am taking two courses this summer. The first is Strategies for Student Success. This class teaches us strategies that will help us be successful students at UCF. This course teaches us about how to manage our time in college and outside of college as well. It also teaches us different techniques on how we can study for multiple classes and how to deal with our stress levels as we go through college as well. My other course that I am taking is English Composition 1.
